judgment (2018)
The sense of being evaluated can transform ordinary interaction into performance. When the performance stops, what kind of interaction remains?

Marc Marquez fought a hard battle with Pedro Acosta for the Sprint Race win at the season-opening race of the motog gp season at the Thai Grand Prix. Acosta eventually won after the intervention of race direction, which judged Marquez’s block pass as slightly too aggressive.
Marc Marquez said that after the controversy he will now think twice before attempting a similar overtake again, as the standards appear to have changed.
As Marquez explained.
“Once again, it’s about drawing the line and applying the same limit to all actions. I am aware that it was a very borderline action. I didn’t seek contact, I just drove into it. That’s the new limit, and as I’ve already said, we drivers have to adapt. Let’s take a look at what happened in Moto 3. There used to be a lot of penalties, now there are fewer. Maybe we’ll think twice now before overtaking – simply to avoid a penalty.”

2 Kings 19 is today’s second Bible study and parallels the events recorded in Isaiah 37.
After worshiping the LORD in prayer, King Hezekiah pleaded with Him to hear Sennacherib’s insults and reproaches. The LORD then condemned Sennacherib and drove him and his army out of Judah.
We are reminded once again: God is sovereign over people and nations.

Tonight! We’re putting our tight detective pants on and becoming a real judge eyes guy with Judgment! Tune in and watch!
Today’s Scripture reading, Isaiah 46-47, continues our study of the prophecies about the fall and judgment of Babylon.
Babylon’s people believed their gods would save them. They trusted their prophets and thought the city was invincible.
Nevertheless, God had not forgotten the evil they committed against His people, and Isaiah warned, “None shall save thee” (Isaiah 47:15).
(via I Will Help Isaiah’s Prophetic Book Pt112)
I Will Help brings us to Part 112 of Isaiah’s Prophetic book. We have looked at the work of the Lord in redeeming His people from captivity in Babylon. Cyrus his anointed leader will come and deliver Judah out of captivity. But it will take Jehovah to bring the nation back together as a people of compact with the Lord. They have been dispersed, first the northern tribes and then Judah for their sins. Judah, however, has been called back to the land unlike Israel the lost tribes in the North. We find the scattering of Israel even to this day. But Gods words ring clear and true, for the Lord said, “Fear not; I will help thee.”
I Will Help is the phrase here bringing God’s #judgment, clarity, and #deliverance into focus. I will Help, here to ‘Succor’ or come alongside to help. #Judah right now needs the #mercy, deliverance, and hand of the #Lord to help them re-establish their land, #covenant, and relationship. This help, or Succor is a primitive root, and brings this ‘surrounding of protection and aid’ to the forefront here in #Gods ending of the 70 years of #judgment at #Babylon. Yet it also reflects the #newcovenant in the #bloodofYeshua. The #mercyofGod through His only #begottenSon who came to die for our sins. As #gentiles and #Jews on this planet, #sins have separated us. #Christ came alongside to help all peoples. He did so through his various death and atoning work on the #cross at #calvary. #IWillHelp #succour

Oneness
When someone says the universe ranks nothing, that can sound as if there is some external cosmic judge doing the evaluation. But there is no external standpoint outside the universe. All evaluations occur within it, through the systems it produces. In that sense, when humans judge actions as better or worse for survival, the universe is not doing something separate from us. Those judgments are processes happening inside the universe itself.
This idea is very close to the philosophy of Baruch Spinoza. In his view, individual beings are modes of one substance (nature). When a human mind evaluates actions deciding that cooperation is better than war, or knowledge better than ignorance that evaluation is simply nature thinking through that particular mode. The universe does not rank activities from outside. But organisms within the universe do rank them, because their structures push them toward persistence.
Those rankings arise from the organism’s internal dynamics. Living systems constantly evaluate conditions in terms of what helps them maintain their organization. Food, safety, knowledge, and cooperation tend to stabilize the organism or the group; injury, starvation, and chaos destabilize it. Because of this, organisms develop preferences and norms. Traits that improve survival and reproduction tend to persist across generations. Over time this produces nervous systems that automatically assign value signals to actions and situations.
So donuts and philosophy are not identical at the organism level. They serve different functions in the regulation of a human system. A donut satisfies immediate metabolic needs; philosophy may help organize knowledge, social structures, or long-term strategies. From the perspective of a living organism trying to persist, these activities can absolutely be ranked. What disappears is the idea that there is a cosmic scoreboard evaluating them independently of the organisms performing them.
Instead, the ranking process itself becomes part of the natural system. The universe generates structures such as brains, societies, cultures through which evaluates possibilities and adjust behavior. In that sense, when humans decide that certain actions improve survival or flourishing, it is simply one configuration of matter evaluating its own conditions of persistence.
