Our study of the prophecies in Isaiah continues with Isaiah 48. A second Bible study will follow, focusing on 2 Kings 19.
The destruction of Jerusalem and the captivity were foretold, and the destruction of Babylon would happen less than a century later, yet the LORD promised He would save His people from destruction. The Jews would return home, and Jerusalem and the Temple would be rebuilt.
Today’s Scripture reading, Isaiah 46-47, continues our study of the prophecies about the fall and judgment of Babylon.
Babylon’s people believed their gods would save them. They trusted their prophets and thought the city was invincible.
Nevertheless, God had not forgotten the evil they committed against His people, and Isaiah warned, “None shall save thee” (Isaiah 47:15).
Isaiah 45 begins with a remarkable revelation! A hundred years before his birth, the prophet Isaiah identified Cyrus, the future king of Persia, as “His anointed” (Isaiah 45:1). Although Cyrus would not be righteous, he would fulfill God’s righteous plan.
Our study concludes with a reminder that the God of Creation is the LORD!

Backstory: Born into a wealthy family. Her mother was old money, her father was new money, and this is how she became a billionaire. From inheriting billions of liquid assets and too many mansions to count. At the age of 3, her parents were involved in a car accident and Sophia was forced into a rather wrecked orphanage, where she was regularly treated poorly. Physical, mental, verbal, and sexual abuse were just a couple of the things in which she had to endure. However, a week after her 16th birthday, a guardian angel has seemed to answer her prayers since things changed as Tony saw the trauma beneath Sophia’s mask and just had to adopt her. As of now, though? Sophia is still severely not used to the Stark lifestyle, yet is forcing herself to slowly adapt to it.

Savora Wren sat awkwardly amongst the wreckage of her jumpship. The Fallen crew that had been chasing her through the Sol system, shot her down in one of the neighboring systems, had thought she was dead. She had allowed them to destroy her after placing Royale, her most trusted friend and ghost, within a plasma proof case, ensuring his survival. And thus hers as well.
Thankfully the case was built with a time delayed latch so it wouldn’t be long before Royale was released, allowing him to resurrect Savora.
“Well that sucked.” Savora breathed a sigh of relief, knowing Xaltriks ‘Dreadsoul of the Void’ wouldn’t be back for her.
“Only a lot.” chirped Royale. He was busy analyzing the remains of the now charred scrap-metal that was once the Obsidian, a giift from Iron Lord Felwinter. “Considering how tight the spread is of the wreck, once I break down all the components, I should be able to rebuild the Obsidian in less than a day.”
“You never fail to amaze me, Royale. Before we begin, have you any idea where we are?” Savora gazed around her surroundings, the strange orange rock formations and red dwarf star were unfamiliar to her but it almost felt like Terra-Firma. Like she was standing in what used to be Arizona back home but.. wrong somehow.
“My scans indicate that this is Proxima Centauri b. 1.3 times the size of Terra. Tidal locked. 4 light-years from Terra. And home to approximately 1.4 billion Thraxi'ien on the darker side of the planet. Good thing we landed in the sunlight” The Thraxi'ien were a very secluded and nomadic clan of Awoken that had decided to make Proxima Centauri b their home after some nasty business in the Reef regarding the Awoken Queen, Mara Sov, and her twin brother, Uldren Sov, after he was resurrected as a Guardian of The Traveller.
