Heart of A Shepherd’s chronological study of the Scriptures continues today with Isaiah 49-50. Both psalms contain some Messianic prophecies.
Although Isaiah’s prophetic ministry mainly focused on Judah, the Southern Kingdom, Isaiah 49 addresses all the children of Israel, both in the north and south.
Isaiah 50, though not as famous as Isaiah 53, includes vivid prophecies about Christ’s suffering and death.
Simply put, the cross was originally a symbol of death. From roughly the sixth century BC through the fourth century AD, it served as one of the most brutal instruments of execution used in the ancient world. The Romans, in particular, perfected crucifixion as a method designed not only to kill but also to shame, terrorise, and deter.
In a crucifixion, the condemned person was either bound or…
We also lost interest because we usually heard the concept of sin being used to judge, exclude, or control others, or to shame and control ourselves, but seldom to bring discernment or deeper understanding, much less compassion or forgiveness, to the human situation. In my observation, the more sin-obsessed a religion or culture became, the more unloving and cognitively rigid its people tended to be.

The Bad News We Still Need: Recovering Sin in a Secular Age
ABSTRACT: The doctrine of sin is frequently ignored in the secular West, replaced by self-confidence and therapeutic models of self-help. Many churches, though not ignoring sin, nevertheless treat it superficially, as if sin were a problem only of behavior and not also of thought and desire. In a biblical understanding, however, sin is the moral heart-sickness at the center of our rebellion against God. When recovered, the doctrine has significant implications for personal discipleship and preaching, challenging pastors to uphold the glory of God’s holiness and boldly proclaim the good news of his grace.
The Christian doctrine of the effects of sin explains what sin has done to humanity, the world, and the relationship between God and His creation. In Christian theology, sin is not merely an isolated act of wrongdoing; it has deep spiritual, moral, and cosmic consequences. Scripture teaches that sin affects the human heart, the human race, the created order, and humanity’s relationship with…
Few doctrines in Scripture are as foundational and as sobering as the doctrine of sin. One cannot understand the message of the gospel without first understanding humanity’s problem. The Bible presents sin not as a minor defect in human behaviour but as a profound spiritual condition that affects every person and separates humanity from a holy God. The doctrine of sin therefore explains both the…

But who prays for Satan?
Who, in eighteen centuries has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it the most?

What if Lucifer never tempted Eve? What if Eve saw Lucifer one day, thought he was hot and wanted to know more about him. Well, what better way to learn than eating from the tree of knowledge. I think people forget that Eve and Adam may not have been created with sin but they were still human. They were still curious and had free will to make their own decisions. So, when Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, the sin was disobeying God which (even in the original story) would have been her choice. Meaning, that maybe, Eve and Adam always had the capacity to defy God and therefore sin. So sin didn’t come from the tree of knowledge, the awareness and shame through the gained knowledge just made them realize they could rebel/sin against God. So, what if Lucifer was just the reason Eve ate from the tree of knowledge and not the one who convinced her to eat from it. That would mean that God probably: facepalmed when Eve chose to eat from ONE tree he told them not to eat from, turned to his angels and was like “Kay’. I’m gonna need someone to go and watch over all the dead bad people and oversee their eternal punishments because this bitch couldn’t obey the ONE RULE that I had.” And maybe Lucifer, feeling guilty for being the reason Eve wanted the knowledge from the tree of knowledge in the first place, volunteered and was like “I’ll do it. I feel kind of bad since the bitch did it just because she saw me.”
As for all the Heavenly War stuff, what if that’s just human made because we couldn’t understand why anyone would want to run hell after being in heaven. And Eve, not wanting to take the blame for everything, just said that the angel she saw was actually a snake and tricked her into eating from the tree of knowledge (I am not calling it an apple, we don’t even fucking know if it was an apple people, it was just called the Tree of Knowledge). I mean, we already know that the bible can be altered and rewritten and then believed as truth, that’s why we have so many different Holy Scriptures, denominations of churches, and even entirely different religions that still believe in the “One true God” and all that jazz. So, it’s possible.
*shrugs* I don’t know man. These are just my shower thoughts and I wanted to share and give someone an existential crisis of faith.

I noticed there are no drawings on the topic of “Sin.” We’ll fix that (゜ꇴ゜)
