The LORD Will Deliver Israel (Isaiah 48)
Our study of the prophecies in Isaiah continues with Isaiah 48. A second Bible study will follow, focusing on 2 Kings 19.
The destruction of Jerusalem and the captivity were foretold, and the destruction of Babylon would happen less than a century later, yet the LORD promised He would save His people from destruction. The Jews would return home, and Jerusalem and the Temple would be rebuilt.

I appreciate that! it’s a loooooong history I have with religion so bare with me lol 😅
I was raised SDA but it always felt extremely dogmatic and legalistic. Even though I had a firm belief in God & the power of prayer as a young child, I hardly ever felt that through the church.
In my early teen years I had some intense paranormal experiences and started dabbling in occultic arts like sigil magick, rituals, etc. My bf my freshman year was actually a Satanist lol
I spent my mid-late teens mostly agnostic until I started researching conspiracies. Around this time I got introduced to new age spirituality. Ended up finding out the ‘indigo’ movement was created for the “green” demographic 😒 i.e. a falsified hippie movement made for people to convince themselves they’re closer to “enlightenment” after spending $$$ on “sustainable” & “self-help” products/retreats. I did a complete deconstruction of new ageism back then and came to realize it was nothing but a frankenstein-conglomerate of stolen ideas & concepts from nearly every other religion on earth. Years of religious symbolism and ceremony hijacked and appropriated for the western world in the name of “raising your vibration” 🙄 it disgusted me.
Entering into adulthood I became a lot more open-minded towards faith-based religions, especially islam. Though I didn’t identify with any one religion at this time, there was no doubt in my mind anymore that God was real. Even when I didn’t have anything nice to say to God, I stayed consistent in prayer.
It wasn’t until my mid 20’s that really solidified my faith and deepened my understanding of scripture. I don’t consider myself judeo-christian by any means. Simply a woman seeking the God who saved her. My path is imperfect, but never ceasing 🙏🏼
All that being said, to answer your other question- I am vehemently against telling people they are going to hell. Reasons being (from a biblical theological perspective):
1. Hell is not a physical place. Hell is eternal seperation from God.
2. Hell was not created for humans. The only way humans end up in hell is if they continually choose seperation from God. Eventually God grants you that.
3. Only God knows our final resting place.
I’ve been called all sorts of heathen, pagan, witch, bigot, ignorant, schizo, damned, etc. so I get it! More often than not behavior like that almost always leads people farther away from God, which is the opposite of what we are called to do imo.
To understand WHY people behave this way (this case being your family) I’m going to assume they come from some sort of evangelical background. In which case- any worship that takes place outside of God, in place of God, or above God would be considered idol worship. I imagine this is what they are seeing at surface level of your relationship with mother nature.
My advice to you would be to establish your foundational beliefs. Challenge them! Yearn for it like your life depends on it! If mother nature calls to you, know what is being said. If mother nature is where you feel Divine prescence, bask in it! Embrace it! Study it! Prove it and debunk it a million times over! Confidence in belief rests on credibility.
And to anyone reading this:
If you are genuinely seeking the Most High, you’ll find the Most High is seeking you too 🙏🏼

Babylon’s Fall and Humiliation (Isaiah 46-47)
Today’s Scripture reading, Isaiah 46-47, continues our study of the prophecies about the fall and judgment of Babylon.
Babylon’s people believed their gods would save them. They trusted their prophets and thought the city was invincible.
Nevertheless, God had not forgotten the evil they committed against His people, and Isaiah warned, “None shall save thee” (Isaiah 47:15).

I wouldn’t say the Most High “didn’t want us to know right from wrong in the beginning” 😅 but I get where you’re coming from, I thought very similiarly when I was younger.
Everyone knows garden of eden (paradise), adam & eve (lovers), and tree of knowledge (wisdom) but the symbolism that’s layered within the actual text reveals so much more context on the creation story/fall of Adam.
For example, the garden of eden is paradise- true. But, (theologically speaking) it’s humanities origin. What our natural resting place of existence was always meant to be- complete intimacy with the Most High. No seperation.
In Genesis, the name Adam was not given to just one person. They were recognized as One, and both were called Adam (Gen 5:2). We see this carries the same theme of complete intimacy. No seperation.
All knowledge ≠ Wisdom, but many view the tree of knowledge through this lens. However, the full title given is actually the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If we go back to Genesis, in the language it was originally written [paleo hebrew] a ‘tree’ can also be an elder; a strong foundational support/where your roots are planted. 'Good’ is to work harmoniously; fulfilling purpose. 'Evil’ is the antithesis of that, disrupting purpose / causing an inability to function properly.
In the garden is also the tree of life, which was made to be eaten freely, and produced immortality. Infinite abundance with the Most High! An eternity of complete intimacy, no seperation.
So it goes, if “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” (Gen 1:31) we can conclude that both Adam were living in alignment with their divine purpose- having unlimited access to all that is 'good’.
This means that once they ingested the fruit (sustenance) of good & evil (harmony & disharmony) their only “gain” was disharmony. For the first time, they were not in allignment with God.
But anyway, haven’t had the wedding yet! Lots of planning to do but we are enjoying this engagement era 🤪💍✨️
