Hollow Knight bosses I have killed, ranked by how long it took me to kill them. This is my very first time playing be nice to my sorry ass.

The only reason False Knight is that high up was because my girlfriend was right there going “you need to hit him and then RUN- NO! NOT LIKE THAT! Ug! Like this!” She then did exactly what I did, gave it back to me, and I mirrored her, and she still said I was doing it wrong. Added like 800 levels of stress that wouldn’t otherwise be there.

The Silent SEO Win: 14 Startup Directories That Build Domain Authority (v2)

Why directory listings are the most underrated growth channel for indie SaaS in 2026

Most founders obsess over their Product Hunt launch and ignore everything else.

Here’s what they’re missing: while your PH listing fades after 24 hours, a G2 listing with 8 reviews keeps generating “best [category] software” search traffic for years. An AlternativeTo listing keeps driving “[competitor] alternative” searches for the lifetime of your product.

This is v2 of the launch series, focused entirely on directories and review platforms that compound over time.

The compounding backlink portfolio

Each directory = a backlink. Each backlink = a Google signal. Ten signals from relevant, active directories = meaningful DA movement over 90 days.

Here’s the v2 stack, with honest notes on each:

1. JustHunt.co — Start here. Free, indexed, growing authority. Your launch anchor.

2. TrustMRR — List here if you can show revenue metrics. Stands out for its transparency-first angle.

3. OpenAlternative — OSS and “alternative to X” positioning. One of the best open-source discovery platforms.

4. Toolfolio — Clean tool directory. Indexed well. Easy win for productivity tools.

5. LibHunt — Essential for dev libraries, SDKs, and developer tooling.

6. SaaS Genius — B2B SaaS reviews with business-buyer intent. Higher quality leads than most directories.

7. G2 — DA 90+. Even with zero reviews, the backlink alone is worth the 10-minute submission. With reviews, you’re in “best of” roundups for years.

8. DevHunt — Developer tool launch platform. Tight community, good indexing.

9. Capterra — DA 85+. SMB buyer audience. Start getting reviews ASAP after listing.

10. There’s an AI for That — Highest-traffic AI directory. Non-negotiable for any product with AI features.

11. AlternativeTo — The “alternative to [competitor]” search captures ready-to-switch buyers. These convert.

12. SourceForge — DA 90+. If you have any open source component. One of the highest-DA free backlinks available.

13. Softonic — DA 88. Consumer software. Mass reach.

14. SaaSHub — SaaS-specific alternative tracking. Smart buyers research here before committing.

The 90-day plan

Month 1: JustHunt.co, G2, AlternativeTo, SaaSHub, Capterra. Get the high-DA backlinks first.

Month 2: OpenAlternative, There’s an AI for That, SaaS Genius, LibHunt. Build niche coverage.

Month 3: TrustMRR, Toolfolio, SourceForge, Softonic, DevHunt. Complete the stack.

Months 4–6: Review compounding. Keyword rankings move. Organic traffic grows.

This isn’t a launch strategy. It’s an SEO foundation. And it pays indefinitely.

Welcome to Clowns Candle Ranking (tm pending)

The ranking is based off of how they interact with my chronic migraines and the olfactory response they spark. That is to say, whether or not they give me a worse headache. Or they just smell bad. I guess

I’ll edit it whenever I light a new candle (if I remember)

List below

Random candle from the dollar store called Citrus Drift - Good. Came in a pretty bowl and was a three wick one too. The wax was blue though? And kinda soft instead of hard when not burning. Overall, I’d recommend it if you want a 6 dollar candle.

Yankee Candle’s Lavender Bliss - Evil. I barely got through the first burn before I had to blow it out because of the pain it caused me. Said pain lasted ALL DAY. Very nice smell tho

Yankee Candle’s Serenity Stone - Very nice and mild. Fell asleep with the smell of it all around me and woke up happily. I wish I had more of it because it’s almost gone now. (Same set as Lavender Bitch btw)

Oneness

When someone says the universe ranks nothing, that can sound as if there is some external cosmic judge doing the evaluation. But there is no external standpoint outside the universe. All evaluations occur within it, through the systems it produces. In that sense, when humans judge actions as better or worse for survival, the universe is not doing something separate from us. Those judgments are processes happening inside the universe itself.

This idea is very close to the philosophy of Baruch Spinoza. In his view, individual beings are modes of one substance (nature). When a human mind evaluates actions deciding that cooperation is better than war, or knowledge better than ignorance that evaluation is simply nature thinking through that particular mode. The universe does not rank activities from outside. But organisms within the universe do rank them, because their structures push them toward persistence.

Those rankings arise from the organism’s internal dynamics. Living systems constantly evaluate conditions in terms of what helps them maintain their organization. Food, safety, knowledge, and cooperation tend to stabilize the organism or the group; injury, starvation, and chaos destabilize it. Because of this, organisms develop preferences and norms. Traits that improve survival and reproduction tend to persist across generations. Over time this produces nervous systems that automatically assign value signals to actions and situations.

So donuts and philosophy are not identical at the organism level. They serve different functions in the regulation of a human system. A donut satisfies immediate metabolic needs; philosophy may help organize knowledge, social structures, or long-term strategies. From the perspective of a living organism trying to persist, these activities can absolutely be ranked. What disappears is the idea that there is a cosmic scoreboard evaluating them independently of the organisms performing them.

Instead, the ranking process itself becomes part of the natural system. The universe generates structures such as brains, societies, cultures through which evaluates possibilities and adjust behavior. In that sense, when humans decide that certain actions improve survival or flourishing, it is simply one configuration of matter evaluating its own conditions of persistence.

Summit War Rankings!

Hey everybody! The Summit War rankings are finalized! This saga was an absolute beast to rank as it covers FIVE separate arcs (Sabaody Archipelago, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford, and Post-War), and 87 individual combatants; almost double the next closest saga so far (Water 7 had 48). There was also a confirmation of a previously undetermined victor, that of the fight between “Fire Fist” Portgas D. Ace and “Blackbeard” Marshall D. Teach from the end of the Water 7 Saga. I have not gone back to change those rankings as at the time of that saga’s conclusion the fight’s outcome is unknown. I have however adjusted both Ace and Blackbeard’s overall records to account for this new information. As always when it comes to the Overall Rankings lists the characters must have competed in a minimum of 5 fights to qualify for ranking, and my placing a character ahead of another character is not an indication of that character’s overall strength (this is NOT a power scaling list), but of their ability to achieve their goals in the combats the show places them in. Without further ado here are the rankings for the Summit War Saga:

  1. “Massacre Soldier” Killer (1-0-0), Trafalgar Law “The Surgeon of Death” (1-0-0), Bepo (1-0-0), Jean Bart (1-0-0), Caroline (1-0-0), Helmeppo (1-0-0), “Great Staff Officer” Tsuru (1-0-0), “Black Cage” Hina (1-0-0) - 100%. Basically every named Navy officer, as well as some Warlords, recieved an automatic W for the team victory in the War of the Best during the Marineford Arc. Enjoy your time in the sun Helmeppo its almost certainly never going to happen again.
  2. “The Tyrant” Bartholomew Kuma (5-0-1), “Mr. 2 Bon Clay” Bentham of the Wild (5-0-1) - 88.89%. Seems appropriate to have 2 of the most impactful characters of the entire saga together at the top end of the rankings. Kuma was all over this saga from separating the Straw Hats on Sabaody, which helped them esacape from the Navy, to doing major damage during the Summit War, and then a final appearance back at the Thousand Sunny on Sabaody at the close of the saga. Bon Clay is without a doubt the MVP of this saga, and has to be considered an honorary Straw Hat alongside Vivi. Saved Luffy’s life on multiple occasions in Impel Down and was the reason that the escapees managed to get away from the prison in the end. Salute to a real one.
  3. “Heavenly Demon” Donquixote Doflamingo - 86.67% (4-0-1). Man was just giggling the entire war.
  4. “Hatchi” Hatchan (2-0-1), Momonga (2-0-1), Dalmatian (2-0-1), “Cat Burgler” Nami (2-0-1) - 77.78%. Its nice to see Hatchi and Nami together in the rankings after their reconciliation. Hatchi is not quite there yet, but he’s just outside Honorary Straw Hat territory for me after Sabaody.
  5. Magellan - 72.22% (4-1-1). Honestly one of the scariest villains of the entire series so far. The venom venom fruit has to be Top 5 most powerful devil fruits so far, especially if we consider fruits that are dangerous no matter how much you train them.
  6. Dracule “Hawk Eyes” Mihawk - 71.43% (4-0-3). Absolute badass. Love that he’s just a guy with a sword and he’s possibly the strongest person at Marineford, definetly Top 5. Also him fighting Buggy was hilarious.
  7. “Mr. 3” Galdino the Loan Shark (4-2-0), “Demon Child” Nico Robin (2-0-2), Eusatss “Captain” Kid (1-0-1), Sentomaru (1-0-1), Tashigi (1-0-1), Doberman (1-0-1) - 66.67%. Mr. 3 coming in clutch both in Impel Down and at Marineford. Don’t sleep on the Wax Wax fruit.
  8. “Straw Hat” Monkey D. Luffy - 63.73% (19-7-8). Luffy was throwing hands almost non-stop this saga, and honestly did pretty good considering how badly everything went for him.
  9. Sakazuki “Akainu” - 63.33% (5-1-4). Absolute lunatic. I hate this man more than any villain in the show.
  10. Kuzan “Aokiji” - 61.11% (3-1-2). I’m not sure how to feel about Aokiji sometimes he is cool, and sometimes he’s just a cop. This saga he was very much just a cop.
  11. “Pirate Hunter” Roronoa Zoro (2-0-3), “Humming Swordsman” Brook (2-0-3) - 60%.Also an interesting pair to be put together. The first oldest crewmember and the newest crewmember, both swordsmen of the crew, and both coming off one of the most impactful arcs for them in Thriller Bark.
  12. “Cotton Candy Lover” Tony Tony Chopper - 58.33% (2-1-1). What a rollercoaster ride for our fluffy doctor boy this saga. But he’s locked in with the books heading into the timeskip.
  13. Smoker the White Hunter - 55.56% (1-0-2). Oh Smokey, you never change
  14. “First Son of the Sea” Jimbei (4-3-1), Borsalino “Kizaru” (3-1-4) - 54.17%. Two people who were moving in opposite ways when it came to Luffy. Jimbei went from prison break brother to unc, and Kizaru is like Ghostface from Scary Movie where he seems kinda chill then he murders all your friends (also he seems high as fuck)
  15. “Cyborg” Franky - 53.33% (2-1-2). Franky and Chopper not understanding that skull and crossbones don’t always mean pirate
  16. Edward “Whitebeard” Newgate - 51.85% (3-1-5). This man was almost dead on his feet and was rocking everyone’s shit at Marineford. Definitely deserved the title of World’s Strongest Pirate. Loved that Blackbeard was spamming his nullification power and Whitebeard said “OK” then sliced him up, and dropped a pointblank earthquake on his face. If he was healthy that war would be a lot shorter.
  17. Usopp (2-1-3), Monkey D. Garp “The Fist” (1-1-0), Koby (1-1-0), John Giant (1-1-0), Lacroix (1-1-0), Lonz (1-1-0), “One-Two” Jango (1-1-0), “Double Ironfist” Fullbody (1-1-0) - 50%. Usopp on Boyin Islands is too real. Garp you earned that beating from Dadan.
  18. “Black Leg” Sanji - 45.83% (3-3-2). Loved how he was watching out for Zoro at Sabaody
  19. Gecko Moria (2-2-2), Hannyabal (1-1-1), Sengoku the Buddha (1-1-1) - 44.44%. Sengoku is up there right behind Akainu for me for villians I hate
  20. Pacifistas - 41.67% (2-2-4). This was such a crazy reveal immediately after meeting Kuma at Thriller Bark
  21. Buggy the Star Clown - 40% (2-3-0). Going to prison was the best thing that ever happened to this man
  22. “Mr. 0” “Desert King” Sir Crocodile (1-2-4), Marco the Phoenix (1-2-4), Little Oars Jr. (1-2-0), “Fire Fist” Portgas D. Teach (0-0-3) - 33.33%. RIP Ace. Rayleigh and Hancock records don’t accurately reflect their importance on this saga. They were both playing defense for Luffy and the Straw Hats most of the time. Also Hancock was killing me with the hallucinations of her and Luffy together. Blackbeard suprisingly no Ws for a saga that catapulted him from just a pirate to front-runner for emperor status.
  23. Emporio Ivankov “The Miracle Worker” - 26.67% (1-3-1). Ivankov also in MVP runner-up convos with Mr. 3, Boa, and Jimbei.

Can’t believe I forgot this

Hey everyone just a quick note. I forgot to include the fight between Shanks and Whitebeard back during the Water 7 Saga (Post-Enies Lobby Arc). Its not a big adjustment but it will have an impact on the rankings with the upcoming post on the Summit War Saga so I will just quickly post the info here:

“Red-Haired” Shanks - 33.33% (0-0-1)

Edward “Whitebeard” Newgate - 33.33% (0-0-1)

Both come in 16th place for the Water 7 Saga rankings. Tied with “Blackbeard” Marshall D. Teach. Just behind Tilestone and Peepley Lulu, and just ahead of Sogeking and Jabra.

In terms of injuries I’m counting Whitebeard as injured in every fight he has in the present because he’s dying of some undisclosed illness. Therefore, he ties for 1st place on the Water 7 Saga Injury Rankings with Sogeking and Iceburg with a “perfect” 100% (1-1).

That’s all for now. I will be posting the Summit War Saga rankings today or tomorrow!
