Drawing Conclusions: Is renting really a waste of money?
If you’ve ever wondered why some people think renting is better than owning, here’s the explanation behind how that can be true. (Note – this video was published in 2015 and there have been changes in the housing market since) Follow The Globe and Mail Instagram: Twitter: Facebook: . source
Most people think that by practicing a certain idea they will release creative thinking. Now, practice, if you come to observe it, ponder over it, is nothing but the result of duality. And an action born of this duality must perpetuate that distinction between mind and heart, and such action becomes merely the expression of a calculated, logical, self-protective conclusion. If there is this practice of self-discipline, or this continual domination or influence by circumstances, then practice is merely an alteration, a change toward an end; it is merely action within the confines of the limited thought which you call self-consciousness.
It’s easy to have opinions about other believers. We notice how they worship, how they parent, how they spend their money, or what they post online. Sometimes we even draw conclusions about their spiritual maturity or commitment to God. But Paul’s words in Romans 14 cut through all of that with sobering clarity:
“So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer?…
Blast from the Past: Types of Closures and Cliffhangers
(Back on October 1, 2014, I made the following post. Nearly forgot about it, but I realized it can work better than another 7 tips post. Enjoy.) Even if you’re nervous about writing the ending of your story, it has to get done. You can’t simply walk away and hope people forgive you. There has to be closure to some extent or even a mysterious ending that keeps people talking. After all, you…
In the summer of 2013, a 21-year-old swimmer, Corey Allen Hewitt, jumped off the Bandmann Bridge into the Clark Fork River in Missoula, Montana. Because he did not look upriver before his plunge, he landed on a man who was floating the river in an inner tube. The man, Andy Hill, suffered broken legs, torn knee ligaments, and other injuries. Alice Miller of the Missoulian wrote,…
people keep referring to tavs hair in this as like a purposeful new hairstyle or a new addition to hi character design. which would be fun! if they go that route. but tbh hes just being sucked up into a hole and just went through war. i think his hairs just a little tussled.
She might be wondering why I left but it was the best for her. Sometimes you know that some people are better off with you than being with someone in this case me that doesn’t align with their view of love
Being brave to finish it knowing they will have a better future without you and them not seeing it knowing that you’ll be the villain but being aware that probably in the future they will be like thank god we broke up
That’s why emotions specifically love are complex and that’s what makes them interesting

What I write contains the notice that everything is to be understood in such a way that it is revoked, that the book has not only a conclusion but has a revocation to boot. … [The reader] can understand that to write a book and revoke it is not the same as refraining from writing it, that to write a book that does not demand to be important for anyone is still not the same as letting it be unwritten.

Key conclusions of Trump’s speech in the Davos 2025 World Economic Forum
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, delivered the first international speech of his second term, appearing via live broadcast against the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. However, Thursday’s comments adopted a combative approach to international diplomacy, since it once again threatened to impose tariffs on foreign competitors, and even allies such as the European Union…
A clear statement of fact is not the actual fact. To be really free from conclusions is quite another matter. Once we perceive that bias of any kind hinders complete examination, we may proceed to look without bias. But out of habit, the mind tends to fall back on authority, on deep-rooted tradition; and to be so aware of this tendency that it does not interfere with the process of examination is also necessary.
There’s so many bits in season 1 SPN where Sam is looking at Dean like this emoji 🥺 and doing that thing where he asks Dean how he’s gonna fix his problem– ‘because I’ve already considered A through Z so you can’t fix it, Dean, but how are you gonna?? Can you fix it please?? You’re acting like you’re not worried! Aren’t you worried?“ And then Dean is like (internally) FUCK FUCK FUCK I AM WORRIED AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO -> (externally) (per 1x14) "that very probable likely thing isn’t gonna happen to you Sammy, you know why?” “Because of Dad? Dad’s not here Dean!” “No. Because of me. As long as I’m here nothin bad is gonna happen to you.” Followed by Sam LITERALLY making a facial expression like he actually buys that and this sounds correct, yes, ah, much better, I’m so glad. it’s impressive that the memory of his childhood, where Dean did solve his simple problems, is strong enough to carry an expectation reflex onto his adult complex problems that Dean very well may not be able to solve. And it’s sweet that Dean’s honest thought process is probably: “because, if I’m here you can’t get hurt because that’s just impossible, it can happen to other people but not you, and why not you because I can’t fuckin take it! Simple! Easy peasy fool proof!”
Sports!! Somehow satisfying conclusions to all our storylines. Lando did it for the team himself, Charlos final podium, fastest lap for Kevin, Lewis made it up and past George. But Lewis ghosting the final interview with Nico - he knows that’s got to be saved for when he leave leaves.
its so interesting developing little relationships to ancients writers when you’re going through their catalogue of works. sometimes you start out cautious and then read more and go ok you’re pretty chill, have good ideas on how to apply earlier platonic ideas, seem to be within typical zones of deeply unpleasant and then you hit their Weird Text and its like hey hey you had a pretty good philosophy thing going why are we now talking about plagues of demonspawn we need to be afraid of. please dont make me need to have a digression on your bizarre demonology. please.
The moment you have achieved anything you cease to have that quality of innocence and humility; the moment you have a conclusion or start examining from knowledge, you are finished, for then you are translating every living thing in terms of the old. Whereas if you have no foothold, if there is no certainty, no achievement, there is freedom to look, to achieve. And when you look with freedom it is always new. A confident person is a dead human being.
