Boys And Girls (Feat. Babylon)

List of anime I dropped.
I think people might be shocked that I dropped Demon Slayer and Solo Leveling
Also Mo Dao Zu Shi. As much as I love the drama version, the animation seems to be less interesting to me 😅
Some of them I dropped, not because I didn’t like them (like Ballroom e youkoso, it was good), but they stuck on my “watching” list for so long that I don’t think I’ll ever finish them
I kind of found The Jackpot for my current school project- Medicine in Ancient Assur: a Microhistorical Study of the Neo-Assyrian Healer Kiṣir-Aššur.
Which is exactly what it sounds like: it’s about the life and times of one particular healer/exorcist in ancient Assyria, as based on his library of copied-out medical texts.
I’m reading about his student days, where he copied out a good few extant texts, presumably as a way to learn; the author is talking about his copies of one particular set of treatments:
“Peculiarly, several duplicate passages end with the present verbal form
ina-eš in RA 15 pl. 76 and the stative form né-eš in BAM 42, both derived from the verb “to live, stay alive, recover” nêšu, suggesting that the two texts were not copied from the same original or that individual choice was involved (cf. CAD N/2: 197).”
…extrapolation, but do you think he was copying out all the prescriptions where the text said ‘do this, and the patient will get well?’

My name is Godspower Owie, and I was born and brought up in Edo State, Nigeria. I grew up with my three siblings who have always been my idols and mentors, helping me to grow and understand the way of life.
My parents are literally the backbone of my story. They’ve always supported me in good and bad times and never for once left my side whenever I feel lost in this world. Honestly, having such…

Isaiah 45 begins with a remarkable revelation! A hundred years before his birth, the prophet Isaiah identified Cyrus, the future king of Persia, as “His anointed” (Isaiah 45:1). Although Cyrus would not be righteous, he would fulfill God’s righteous plan.
Our study concludes with a reminder that the God of Creation is the LORD!
Our second Bible study today comes from Isaiah 44. Isaiah 44 opened with the LORD’s assurance that He loved Israel and they were His people.
The LORD reminded Israel that He created and called them as His people to serve Him (Isaiah 44:21). He assured them He would not forget His covenant with them (Isaiah 44:21c).
Isaiah’s prophecies continue with today’s Scripture reading, Isaiah 41-42. In Isaiah 41, God calls the nations of the earth to judgment and addresses the foolishness of idolatry.
With lifeless idols as the backdrop, Isaiah 42 begins with the words, “Behold my servant” (Isaiah 42:1) and ends with the LORD addressing the sinful nature of Judah and His people (Isaiah 42:18-25).
When we imagine ancient empires, we imagine armies, palaces, and monumental inscriptions. We imagine tribute borne in procession and gold stacked in treasuries. But empires do not function on spectacle alone. They function on accounting.
