In the Garden of Eden life was perfect for man and woman, but after disobeying God the perfection of the world was destroyed by the entrance of sin into the world, and the course and history of mankind since has been marked by conflict, struggles and strife.

We sadly see this in society with crime, corruption, and conflict in our families, in our communities and in our country. In so many ways it is heart breaking and devastating to see our country divided with such distain, anger, and down-right hatred toward one another. When we look at what has happened to us it always gets back to removing God from our lives and not following His ways.

While we as a nation may have left God by not only allowing but approving all kinds of errant practices, God NEVER left us, we have certainly LEFT HIM! espite the moral mayhem that has appeared in the last few decades there is an answer and that is PRAYER, and God gave us the cure for our fractured nation when he said:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves
AND pray,
AND seek my face,
AND turn from their wicked ways;
— THEN will I hear from heaven,
AND will forgive their sin,
AND will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14

Prayer powerfully alters things, and while our country will never be perfect we can help heal the differences within us and bring good things about. While sin will always remain in this world, he still gives us the ability to make right choices — and this always must first begin by ‘turning from wicked ways.’

My dear friend, would you close your eyes and pray with me?

Dear Lord God Almighty, and merciful God, We come together in one accord to pray for the deliverance of our sinful ways as a nation and all the abhorrent evil of America that we have done in this world. Help us to be unified abiding and acknowledging Your Commandments and that through our obedience and prayers to bring about a major shift and change in those who are walking in rebellion against You in our nation. We pray for our country to repent and turn back to you, follow you. and turn our hearts back towards You. We pray all of this prayer in the holy name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.

God Bless Your Day

Saint John the Baptist: Preparing the Way for Christ - Day 2

Saint John the Baptist, born to the elderly and devout Elizabeth and Zechariah, was a miracle child, foretold to prepare the way for the Messiah. As the cousin of Jesus, his life was deeply intertwined with the Holy Family, with his mother Elizabeth sharing a sacred bond with Mary during their miraculous pregnancies. Guided by divine purpose, John’s bold mission complemented the quiet humility of…

Mercy

I have been in Sewanee, Tennessee at the University of the South since Tuesday, January 21st, the day the Episcopal Church again made front page news because of a church service that most Americans (I believe) never watch when it comes every four years. But then, the Right. Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde gave a homily at Washington National Cathedral’s Service of Prayer for the Nation that was…

Kyrie Eleison

I try not to be judgmental. Really, I do. I make an effort to be open, accepting, and patient. But I also remember students during my teaching career who argued for a better grade based on the amount of effort they put in. I don’t believe I ever came out and said it, but they got the idea. The real world doesn’t work that way, and whatever the “real world” may or may not be, they had to produce…

Through the journey of life’s challenges, I’m learning that my way isn’t the best way. The best way for me has always been God’s way. Yet, I’ve often thought I was following God’s will, only to be humbled and realise I was running on self-will, self-reliance, or my own delusions. Recovery reminds me I’m not in control…I’m not the driver, and that’s okay, because when I let go, ask for help, and truly trust God, and engage in prayer and meditation, I open the door for growth…

Through stepwork, I uncover truths about myself, and through service, I find purpose by giving back. Sponsorship, both as a sponsee and sponsor, keeps me grounded in this program. Seeking guidance reminds me to stay teachable, while working with sponsees challenges me to reflect on my own program and check if my recovery is in line with God’s will and the principles set out out in this simple program.

I’d be lucky if I get it right even 20% of the time….I guess somewhere therein lies what I keep striving for. It isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress. By practicing humility (I’m often humbled by humiliation), honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness (I’m learning there are levels to this shit), I can let go of my illusions and walk God’s path, one step at a time, trusting the outcome to Him. Mistakes are part of the process, and each stumble teaches me how to be a little bit better….

“As long as we’re falling forward”…

Just for today, I’m free, I’m clean and I’m grateful to be alive.

David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly great and famous and glorious in all the lands. Therefore, I must make provision for it.” So David made lavish preparations for it before his death.
1 Chronicles 22:5

It’s a blessing to desire to do things for God. Christendom is full of Christians content with sitting back…

A lot of the time we look to self-righteousness as a judge of our own character and self-sufficiency as our ability to succeed in life. This causes pride and egotism. You know what they say, ‘what comes up must come down’.
We want God to solve our problems but when we have our own solutions then we don’t need Him right?…The so-called solutions we may have may be positive but it’s impact might not be long lasting because as humans our thinking is limited. Then sometime, inevitably, another problem arises. Let’s face it, the world is not perfect.
If we want peace or positive lasting answers to our problems, we need to humble ourselves before God and to others. Admit we are not perfect, and that we need Him and each other.  It’s good to share our struggles, why? It opens the door for beautiful relationships, shows our humility and removes barriers and walls in society.

To God be the glory.

The Transformational Power of Humility

Hello fam.

Trust your weekend is going well?

To listen to the full sermon of today’s service, kindly subscribe to our YouTube channel via the link in bio.

In the meantime, here are some excerpts;

Humility is accepting what God says concerning you over what anyone else says or think.

It’s deriving your confidence from God. It’s showing that you do not think of yourself as better than anyone else, but also not putting yourself lower than whom God says you are.

It’s not bowing your head and walking gently. It is not your posture before men but your posture before God. It’s not letting your ego get in the way of helping others.

Phil. 2.1 - 11, Jesus Christ is our perfect model for humility.
Even though He has equal status with God the Father, He did not think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what.

He set aside His privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human just to save you and I.

He lived a selfless obedient life and died a selfless, obedient death and the worst kind of death at that - crucifixion. 2 Chronicles 7.14, Proverbs 22.4, 11.2.

Humility is knowing who you are in Christ and living it out!

God resists the proud and lifts the humble. When we are humble, and turn from our wicked ways, and call on God and pray, God blesses us with grace, promotion, more riches, guidance, wisdom, healing, answered prayer, victory and more.

May we receive grace to understand who we are in Christ and live humble. Amen!

Enjoy God’s lifting this week!

HUMILITY IN-SERVICE!

In our human nature, we usually want to call out for attention.

We want to be served and not the other way round. And when we do so, we expect to get something in return.

This usually do occur in our homes and workplaces, especially when ask to do something outside our work task. Hence, we miss the opportunity to listen, learn, expand and grow.

But may this Easter and Always reminds us all of…

It doesn’t matter who you say you are. It’s your actions that people see. Let your actions speak louder than words, and let your action be grounded in humility, integrity, and selflessness.
