Been working on this piece for a while! 400+ individual pieces of wire, featuring cicada wings, beetle shells, bones, fossils, and more, along with handmade copper roses. And it glows in the dark!

I’m on holidays 😁 I have all this gorgeous yarn 😁 So I let myself play 😁 This lovely hand dyed yarn is @threetreesfibrecrafts ‘Pink Coral’ and ‘Rose Finch’ 😁 Lots of fun was had 😁 Might see if I can attach it to a hair pin 😁

asked for a suncatcher making kit for my birthday and went ham designing and assembling a few for @swordsandspectacles @the-cooler-sidestep, @grinningjackal and a friend that’s not active on tumblr anymore :D very fun, also Very exhausting being on the floor for several hours lol

A cuter piece I did… this year I think? Maybe last year?

What is time?

… uh so hand stitched millinery wire understructure, faux flowers and foliage, bit of floral tape for the legs and antennae, leaf skeleton wings. Floral trans flag bee :)

Here, reflecting. My father, who passed on a decade ago, designed the foyer and lift lobby of the building that towers above Melbourne Central.

Testing this prototype structure as I build the next revision. Coincidence, or subconsciously planned – my father’s structural design is reflected on my tablet :)

Prototype working, of the many stands I’ve developed, this is the most stable and strongest when folded. A good form factor for a space like this. Amazing to see how wire allows for evolving design, a few major adjustments were made as this piece came to its rigid form. Including having no plan for the vertical column at the rear! All hinged sections are very strong and detachable to allow further refinement and finishing work. Currently using this all day as I cafe hop and explore strength and practical behaviour.

Sketches are the first step toward a successful bespoke request. I love receiving enquiries, they tend to take me out of my comfort zone and challenge my craft. Very often it is that they also give me the best ideas for new pieces!

These sketches are ideas for a more traditional bride’s headpiece 🌿 Yet, I can definitely see a fairytale character wearing something like this!

Tried my hand at making a circlet for my daughter who is heading to a Ren Faire tomorrow dressed as an elf cleric. She worked on her costume and this was my contribution.
