“Troll!” came the shout from the battlements. “Where?!” we shouted back. “Southeast!” was the reply. Darn it. We didn’t have any archers defending our fortress in that direction. It was fortunate that we still had time before we had to deal with the next wave of attackers. We were already in over our heads fending off orcs and goblins at the northern end of the bastion. Things were slowly becoming too chaotic. It was a real Castle Panic by Justin De Witt from Fireside Games.

Yes, I giggled like a little girl when I came up with the name.
And here we are, at the typical AOE tower for any tower defense. However you might notice something unique for the tower as it progresses in its levels. That being that while the damage and range do increase the fire rate decreases. Fear not, as the DPS of the tower does not decrease as a result and the added range can allow it more hits on enemies as it gets larger. This unique stat interaction tries to convey that as the stack gets taller it does more damage, but is harder to lift/activate.
Another thing is this is one of the only towers currently that does not use a upgrade arrow for its second level. The arrows on other towers are implemented to make things a little quicker on the modeling side. However with this tower the adding of an additional layer was easy enough to forgo the upgrade arrow entirely. It also didn’t take much thought, sidelining that issue as well.
The Groundratter as well cannot hit flying targets, but otherwise is great for area control and dealing with larger packs of enemies.
