Abstract
The militarization of orbital space has advanced to a point at which the major spacefaring powers possess operational or near-operational capabilities across multiple distinct forms of space combat, each characterized by different mechanisms of effect, escalatory signatures, attribution properties, and strategic implications. This paper develops a systematic taxonomy of orbital combat…
White Paper: Orbital Combat Operations: Forms, Functions, and the Emerging Taxonomy of Space Warfare
Abstract
The emergence of anti-satellite weapons as operational instruments of national military power has introduced a class of escalatory dynamics into contemporary strategic competition that existing deterrence frameworks are poorly equipped to manage. This paper argues that orbital deterrence — the prevention of attacks on space-based military infrastructure through the threat of…
Abstract
The concept of “command of space” has entered the vocabulary of strategic studies with a confidence that outpaces its conceptual precision. Military doctrine, policy documents, and strategic analysis routinely invoke the goal of space control without adequately interrogating what control in the orbital domain actually means, whether it is achievable in the forms proposed, or whether the…
The thing is that in the end the dumb brute stratagem will alway prevail; because as the arm race goes on between other peoples to counter each-other techniques, eventually their new methods are so adapted to their opponent’s equally sophisticated methods that they forget to ward themselves against an axe to the guts or a head full of buckshot.
It’s simple when you thing about it : the man who has engraved in the rocky bareness of his hard brainstem that he will keep forward, will never be taken offcourse; the man who uses not trickery fears no spies.
AI and bureaucracy are not ordinary bedfellows but they now collide and company size and culture decides who adapts and who gets left behind.

ALTTrade Secrets DLC is due to expand the world of dotAGE with new ways to grow your village on Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows PC. This is all made possible by the ongoing creativity of developer Michele Pirovano. And it’s due to make its way onto Steam.
For fans of dotAGE, this is one of those moments that makes you sit up in your chair. The quiet little indie village builder is about to get a whole lot bigger on Linux as well as Steam Deck. And the new expansion, Trade Secrets, looks like it’s about to turn your peaceful settlement into a living, breathing economy.
If you’ve spent time with dotAGE, you already know the vibe. It’s that weirdly relaxing yet tense strategy loop where every decision matters. You’re guiding your tiny village through harsh seasons, strange events, and looming disasters. One bad call and everything spirals.
Now the solo developer behind it all, Michele Pirovano, is opening the gates to something much larger.
Trade Secrets Is About Expansion and Risk
The upcoming Trade Secrets DLC isn’t just a small content bump. It adds an entirely new layer to how your village grows and survives.
For the first time, your little Pips can head out beyond the safety of the village. Instead of just reacting to events, you’ll be actively exploring the wilderness. Send them out, and they’ll return with strange resources and brand-new buildings pulled from the unknown edges of the world.
That alone changes the rhythm of the game.
But the real shift comes from logistics and trade. Your village will finally have a full supply network. You’ll be building carts, crafting boats, and even taming horses so goods can move faster across your settlement. Roads suddenly matter more. Storage matters more. Planning matters a lot more.
Warehouses will let you stockpile resources, markets will let you sell them, and coins will open the door to even bigger trades. It’s a proper economy layered on top of the survival systems fans already know.
In other words, Trade Secrets turns your village from a struggling settlement into something that actually feels like a growing civilisation.
dotAGE: Trade Secrets - Reveal Trailer
The World of dotAGE Is Getting Stranger Too
Alongside the Trade Secrets paid DLC, dotAGE is also getting a chunky free update, version 1.9, and it’s bringing something wild: lava.
Yes, lava.
The new update introduces lava terrain, lava resources, and even buildings that interact with it. That alone should shake up map strategies in some pretty interesting ways.
But the bigger surprise is the overhaul to the late game. Four brand-new Apocalypses are being added, giving veteran players fresh challenges when their villages reach the end stages. If you’ve already mastered the current disasters, things are about to get messy again.
On top of Trade Secrets, the event system is being rebalanced with a pile of new events thrown into the mix. Expect more weird situations, more tough decisions, and probably a few moments where everything goes wrong at the worst possible time.
Which, honestly, is peak dotAGE.
A Solo Developer Still Expanding the Game
What makes this whole thing even better is that dotAGE is still largely the work of one developer. Michele Pirovano has been steadily growing the game on Linux and Steam Deck since launch. While adding systems, polishing mechanics, and listening closely to the community.
Seeing a game like this continue to evolve, especially with support for Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows, is exactly the kind of thing PC players love to see.
And yeah, there’s another nice bonus.
To celebrate the announcement of Trade Secrets, the game is going on sale for a week on Steam with a 30% discount, dropping the price to $12.31 USD / £10.49 / 12,24€. Regular price on GOG and Humble Store. So if you’ve been curious about dotAGE but never jumped in, this might be the perfect time.
Because if this DLC lands the way it looks like it will, managing your tiny village is about to become a whole lot deeper, and a lot more chaotic, in 2026.
The Arctic is No Longer Neutral | Russia vs The World | GeoMoney TV
I just watched an insightful video about the Arctic’s shift from a climate research hub to a hotspot for military competition. While the world watches the headlines, Russia is reworking its Northern Fleet, NATO is adjusting to the GIUK gap, and China is advancing its “Polar Silk Road.” This is a must-watch to understand the global power struggle in the Arctic!
You know how some teams come up with great ideas during pilots, but those ideas never turn into real products that customers buy? The key is to build a system that takes those one-time experiments and makes them part of your daily operations. Start by gathering hypotheses on a regular basis, prioritize them with a set method, run experiments within fixed time limits, and set clear rules for what…

Turn on the news, and it’s a circus out there. Iran is in the spotlight, oil prices are skyrocketing, and it feels like we’re all watching a slow-motion train wreck. In moments like these, you might find yourself thinking, “Should I just hit pause on my business strategy?” I get it. The world seems chaotic, but here’s the hard truth: your exit strategy doesn’t care.
If you’re a business owner like me, you know that the headlines are often misleading. They’re designed to grab your attention and make you anxious. But let’s be real, the world’s chaos can’t dictate when you should execute your long-term wealth management plans. I’ve had conversations with several business owners lately who are hesitating, considering a freeze on their plans until the smoke clears. My advice? Absolutely not.
At Pinnacle Wealth Advisory, we cater to businesses pulling in between $5 million and $100 million. These are companies built on years of hard work, and a few headlines shouldn’t derail decades of effort. You didn’t build your business to react to every geopolitical upheaval. You built it to thrive, regardless of the ups and downs.
Let’s take a step back. Think about the last five years. We’ve seen economic rollercoasters that would make your head spin, trade wars, pandemics, inflation rates hitting the roof. Yet, here we are, still pushing forward. You know what that tells me? Long-term planning is what matters. If you let current events dictate your moves, you might miss the boat completely.
The truth is, wealth management is about creating a strategy that’s robust enough to withstand the storms of the economy and geopolitics. You can’t let the latest crisis dictate your financial decisions. If you want a more detailed breakdown, check out my thoughts on exit planning in my latest piece here: Douglas Greenberg on Exit Planning.
When you’ve laid the groundwork for your exit strategy, sticking to that plan, even amidst chaos, will ultimately prove fruitful. I can guarantee you that potential buyers aren’t going to overlook your business just because oil prices are swinging up and down. They’ll see the underlying value that you’ve built over the years.
Plus, remember that times of uncertainty can present unique opportunities. Maybe a competitor is struggling, or maybe there’s a favorable acquisition deal just waiting to be snatched up. While everyone else is paralyzed by headlines, you can be looking for the next opportunity to expand or solidify your footprint. It’s about being proactive, not reactive.
So, here’s my blunt advice: stay the course. Trust in the framework you’ve set up. If things get rocky, reassess, don’t panic. Your exit strategy should be as steady as a rock, built to weather whatever storm comes your way. And if you have questions about how to strengthen your strategy right now, don’t hesitate to reach out to a financial advisor you trust. You can always check out my insights here: Douglas Greenberg Insights.
In short, while the news might be ablaze with chaos, your focus should remain steady on the goals you’ve set long ago. The world will always have its ups and downs, but your business, your legacy, deserves a constant hand on the wheel. Don’t let fear take the driver’s seat.
Stay strong, stay smart, and keep moving forward. The geopolitical chaos won’t last forever, but your well-planned exit strategy can.
Cheers, Douglas Greenberg

It’s the worst first move.
There’s a book about it that goes for £100 on Amazon.

If black plays 1…g5, it’s called the Borg Defence. Because borg is Grob backwards.

The era of “pick a large language model and plug it in” is ending, because most companies now have access to roughly comparable foundational models, turning raw model power into a commodity rather than a differentiator. The real competitive edge, it says, will come from how deeply organizations understand and encode their own context—their data, processes, constraints, and culture—into AI systems so that these tools can make decisions and take actions that are specific to that environment. Instead of obsessing over which model is “best,” leading companies will focus on building AI that is tightly coupled to their internal knowledge, workflows, and guardrails, and that can operate more autonomously inside those boundaries.
This shift reframes AI from a generic chatbot layer into a strategic asset that reflects how a business actually works, including its governance, risk posture, and tacit know‑how. It also raises the bar for leadership teams: success will depend less on piloting the latest demo and more on doing the unglamorous work of organizing data, clarifying operating models, and designing AI systems that are safe, reliable, and aligned with the company’s mission.
Why it matters (communicator’s lens): This move from commodity models to context-rich, company-specific AI means communicators must tell a story less about “AI in general” and more about “AI as an expression of who we are and how we work,” translating messy internal reality into a clear narrative that employees, customers, and stakeholders can trust.
what is the behavior the marketer is trying to inspire
a6) is it to drive an inquiry so the prospect takes the first step in their shopper journey? is it to drive sharing, so the prospect can bolster their social currency while spreading the word for the marketer’s brand? or is it to encourage the consumer to try utilizing a product in a new way, so the brand becomes more integral to the consumer’s life?
