Decided at the last second before I went to bed to record this video.
There has been a competitive server running for some years now.
I don’t run the server myself, but I am the one who wrote a lot of the code behind the server. (Base Auto Server logic was made by Corecii)
I go into more detail about the logistics of the Competitive Server in this steam thread
I see him sometimes.
In the way the dawn kisses the hills.
In the way the reeds whisper to the river.
In the way the sun and the moon —beautiful, shining, alone—
Can never hold one another.
I see him everywhere.

Seuls nos pas se retrouventà travers la grandeur de notre quête.Je pars de la ligne de départqui est moi-même.Je parcours des distances incroyablespour me retrouver moi-même.La ligne de départ ne s’annonce…

Whatever makes you happy—
even if it isn’t me.
Even if my name slowly fades
from the places you once said it softly,
like it mattered.
I’ll stand back and watch you choose a life
that doesn’t include my hands,
my voice,
my late-night honesty.
I’ll pretend it doesn’t bruise
to see you light up
in a room I no longer enter.
I wanted to be the place you rested,
not the lesson you learned…

I’ve just calculated something out, and the result is, well – depressing, to say the very, least …
Here is a photo of a portion of the Milky Way galaxy. Each dot in the photo is a star. Our galaxy contains about 300,000,000,000 stars. More than 60% of all stars have planetary systems, much like our Solar Planetary System. The nearest star to Earth, is Proxima Centauri, one, of three, in the Alpha Centauri system. Proxima is only 4.2 light-years away. Proxima also hosts at least one planet in its Habitable Zone!
So far, this sounds like a great setup for some interplanetary–or, even, interstellar socializing; there’s bound to be someone else out there to talk to!
Problem:
There are 5.8 trillion miles in one light-year, or, 5.8 thousand billion, if you prefer, but terminology doesn’t make that number any smaller; it still looks like this:5,800,000,000,000. So, as close as 4.2 light-years sounds, Proxima Centauri, is about 25 trillion (25 thousand million) miles away. How awful!…But how come?
OK, let’s say that we’ve decided to attempt to send an astronaut, round-trip, to Proxima Centauri–in the fastest rocket that has ever been built–the Saturn-V, three-stage, rocket-booster configuration used in the Apollo program. This configuration had a top speed of 26,000 mph.
Now, 26,000 miles per hour, we’d all agree, is very fast–15 times as fast as an average bullet. But, it’s only 0.000037% of the speed of light, which travels at 186,282.3976 miles per second, in a vacuum.
Yes–that’s all relatively fast, when compared to the speeds that we’re used to dealing with, and thinking about. But, a round-trip, to Proxima Centauri? It would take our astronaut—one-hundred-and-sixteen-thousand years—just to get there! He would be, long, mummified, by the time he arrived. Time dilation, in this case, is inconsequential; we don’t need to factor it in at such negligable velocities.
The second, nearest, star to our solar system, with a known planetary system, is, Fomalhaut: about 15 light-years distant. Suppose we decided, that, instead of sending an astronaut, anywhere, we would send a message by radio, who’s waves, travel through space at light speed. The message would, chug along, at the speed of light—for 15 years—before anyone on a planet of the Fomalhaut system picks it up. If they do, and if they can decipher the message, and decide to reply to us, we would have to wait—another 15 years—to receive that reply.
There IS NO WAY around this problem – not even theoretically. The speed of a moving photon (light) is a fixed, universal constant; nothing can go faster, than 186,282.3976 miles per second. NOTHING. No material object can even hope to attain that speed, or even close to that speed (see, and review, Special Theory of Relativity, by A. Einstein). Time=Space. If you could remove the space between points A and B, then you have also removed the time it would have taken to travel from point A to point B. Remove the time, then you have also removed the space separating them.
But that isn’t the saddest part…
The distances, and times I have mentioned here, are prohibitive and are one of the reasons astronomers do not believe in UFO’s, or, that we’re being visited by extraterrestrials.
Yes!–WE DO believe they exist–
but, not that we’re being visited by them, daily, or on any regular basis. There are only two stars–with only one planet, each, within a 15 light-year (that’s 88,119,025,050,000 miles) of Earth. Being visited, by either of two potential populations of aliens, given those limitations and assuming they exist at all–and are capable of spaceflight–is grasping at straws, at best. Our chances of meeting up with anyone else out there, is about nil.
We may be surrounded, perhaps, by countless populations of, ‘The Celestial Peoples of the Milky Way Galaxy’–and yet–still, be truly, and indefinitely, alone….
y aprender a caminar sola,
es imposible
no recordarte.
No quiero olvidarte.
No quiero olvidar los momentos que vivimos
ni las promesas que alguna vez hicimos.
A veces pienso
Esa parte me dice
que tengo que seguir viviendo,
que todavía hay caminos por delante,
que aunque ahora parezca imposible,
algún día podré salir de este lugar.
Quiero recordarte siempre.
Nunca imaginé que mi vida sería así.
Yo solo quería estar contigo,
cumplir mis sueños a tu lado,
construir un futuro juntos.
Jamás pensé
ni por un segundo
que tendría que aprender a vivir
sin ti.
Y ahora todo parece distinto.
Los sueños que antes tenía
se ven lejanos, extraños,
como si pertenecieran
a otra vida.
Solo Dios sabe por qué pasan estas cosas.
Yo solo quisiera encontrar paz
y saber que tú también estás en paz.
Porque sé que nunca dejaré de pensar en ti.
Estás incluso en las pequeñas cosas.
Siempre te voy a querer
been thinking about how everyone on tumblr seems to live in fuckin narnia, but in particular, about the different orders of magnitude of scale involved with long distance
1 mile is a distance that could reasonably be walked in 20 minutes. for some, this is how far they travel to buy groceries
10 miles is roughly how far you could comfortably walk in a day, allowing for food breaks. there’s a good chance most people at your school lived within this distance. it’s not close, but with modern transport it was perfectly doable to hang out at eachother’s houses after school.
100 miles is approaching the limits of how far the average person could travel under their own power in a day. with cars and trains it’s more than doable, but incurs significant time and monetary costs. people will sometimes do this as their commute, but it’s tough.
1,000 miles is nearing the width of the atlantic ocean near the equator. at highway speeds, you’d need over half a day of solid driving just to cover this distance. day trips stop being feasible, even with planes.
10,000 miles is about as far as it’s possible to be from someone on earth. at this distance, the international space station is closer to you at all times than you are to the other person over the surface. if you were to go this far straight up, you would be half way to high earth orbit. this scale is about as big as this little blue marble we live on is able to convey to us.
100,000 miles would put you just over 40% of the way to the moon, on average.
and yet here we all are on this hellsite, living in eachothers pockets. some of us separated by literal planetary scale distances. yet we can still communicate near instantaneously. the bonds we’re able to form are just as strong, just as real, with over 10,000 miles of separation as they are with just one.
You can go years thinking about someone far away
And when you realize they haven’t forgotten you…
That’s when it hits you
Leave—
before the walls remember my name,
before the floorboards learn the sound
of my shaking hands.
Leave—
while there’s still a part of me
that believes I’m worth staying for,
before the shadows start whispering
everything I’ve tried to forget.
I can’t promise I won’t miss you.
I can’t promise I won’t ache
in places you never even touched.
But I won’t ask you to hold on
to someone…

Will I ever reach youwhen there are tides surging and sweeping anything in between?
Have you seen something on these stair steps winding within?
Wild-eyed hope scurry into the woods of the night to heed the call,
wasted so many years growing up to find nothing beyond these walls.
I falter hearing blood and friends are in their ways broken,
but all I do is listen and pretend to…
I keep a video of you somewhere,
recorded shortly after that Saturday,
in a black leather jacket,
and the lightness of youth rests on you,
far from everything that stands between us.
Once you call, and I search
for words that won’t come,
right when I need them.
Your cosmos moves differently,
your voice lingering in my ear.
Later you’re here, we walk a while,
and something in me thinks I could trust you,
as if I had known you
long before this life.
Yet you live far away from me.

Best Regards

The General List (Archive) Of The Coptic Church Icons
A Project To Collect, Classify And Number All The Icons Of The Coptic Church
Presented by/ Gerges Francis Tawdrous +201203637319
(S. George Church- El Materiya District- Cairo- Egypt)
The Project Idea
I make A General List (Archive ) For The Coptic Church Icons- means- I collect, classify and number all Coptic Icons- let’s give example to explain- I collected all icons about the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ and put all these Icons in one folder and gave number for each Icon- by that all the Icons about the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ are found in this folder and have numbers- that can protect these icons
I made similar folder for each subject (The Almighty Throne- the Angles- the Annunciation- the Birth of Jesus Christ- the holy family flight to Egypt- the miracles of our Lord- The Maundy Thursday- The Great Friday- The Resurrection ….etc also the saints Icons are classified and numbered in folders)
Shortly- the project aims to collect all Coptic icons and classify them and give numbers for them, by that each icon will have number and be known- this method can protect the Coptic icons from the negative effects of the new computer programs- and we may know the total number of the Coptic Icons and also the places in which these Icons are found because it’s written under the Icons the places in which these Icons are found (especially for the ancient icons)- by this method the Coptic icons may be protected and that may save the Coptic Icons inherited through two thousands of years- also- this general list (Archive ) can be useful for the researchers study the Coptic Icons (CONT)

The Project Contents
I published on my sites a group of The Coptic icons (classified and numbered)– the total published Icons are 6325 Icons- they are published as three groups
1st Group
The Icons of The Modern Coptic Church (painted after 1900 AD) the total is 3713 Icons
2nd Group
The Icons of The Ancient Coptic Church (painted before 1900 AD) the total is 1092 Icons
3rd Group
The Icons of The Byzantine Church (all times) the total is 1520 Icons -these icons are published on my sites on the next links and they are available for all for free- and it’s just part of the Coptic church Icons- please note- the Coptic Church icons total may be more than (twenty thousands icons), and we hope you will help us to complete this general list (Archive ) to contain all the church Icons- for that- we entreat every one finds different icons in his house, church or monastery can be added to this general list (Archive ) to send these Icons to us to be added to this general list (Archive ) and by that this general list can be comprehensive for all the Icons of the Coptic Church
The Icons Are Published On The Next Links

The Project Objective-
I try to find a method to protect the Coptic Icons- for that I created this general list (Archive ) to classify and number all the Icons of the Coptic Church- I found this method can protect the Icons because each icon will be numbered and known by that these icons can not be lost nor be faked- basically-I want to protect the inherited Coptic Icons from the negative effects of the new computer programs-
The Attached Classification
The next pages are written in Arabic language-
I put the icons classification in the next pages- example- I put the Almighty Throne in the item No. (1) of this classification- and this item has 5 branches and each branch has some Icons- I write the item and its five branches- and I distinguish between the same item branches (for example- branch no.(1) shows the Almighty throne while The Almighty carries the Earth planet and the scepter or one of them- but branch no. (2) shows the Almighty Throne while the Almighty carries The opening Bible-…etc)
I distinguish between the branches because I don’t put so many Icons in one folder- the published Icons are classified by this method in separated folders to be easy to reach and use
How Can Each Icon Be Numbered?
Example- how to know the Icon Number (1-2-3)?
This is one of the Almighty throne Icons because Item no.(1) is the Almighty Throne Item-
And this item has five branches and (2) this is branch number 2 and in this branch the Almighty carries the opening bible- and this branch number 2 has (35 icons) and the required Icon is the Icon number (3)-
Shortly the Icon No. (1-2-3) is the icon of the Almighty Throne while The Almighty carries the opening bible and this Icon No. (3) is the martyrs of Libya because they painted these martyrs in the Icon of The Almighty throne while He carriers the Opening Bible for that this Icon is The Martyrs of Libya Icon
The Icons Sources
The Byzantine icons are found on the internet with very good order
The ancient Coptic Icons I brought from the books studies the Coptic Arts and ancient Egypt civilization
The Modern Coptic Icons are found in the church Books and book shops and on the churches walls
Can You Help To Complete This List?
The published Icons list has only (6325 Icons) but the Coptic Church has more than Twenty thousands icons- Can you help us to complete this general list (Archive ) for the Coptic church icons? All icons which are not found in the published group can be added and by that we can complete this general list (Archive ) to contain all the church Icons- for that we entreat every one to help us by all available Icons can be added to this general list -ALSO all advices, critics and suggestions can help this project please send to us- because we try to make a trustee general list (Archive) for the Coptic Church Icons- in absolute honor we belong deeply to the Coptic Church- our Hope and Light
