Color of the month: Orange

All my color displays start with a Pile on the coffee table in front of my display shelves.

Then I dress everyone in the appropriate color, and make changes as necessary (eg I had Thalia barbie in the pile, but she has flat feet and I needed a barbie with heeled feet to wear the orange shoes. So I swapped Thalia for November).

The Pile again, but this time everyone’s dressed.

Next, I draft an arrangement of flat things (pictures, calendars, stickers, books…) for the background. This isn’t set in stone – depending on how dense I want the display to be, I might condense it to just the two white shelves. Background items for this orange March display include: books, a Buffy comic, Alyssa Thorne calendars, a picture cut out of a nature photography book, and a Therapets planner.

Then I start putting the dolls and tchotchkes on the display. I decided as I was arranging that there weren’t enough orange items to extend across the three shelf-tops, so I condensed it down to two. And here it is!

Detailed pics, starting from top left:
1) November wearing barbie dress and shoes, Ambroidery gingerbread man pin, Rosebud wearing OMG, lego flower, Rowan wearing homemade pants and Hairdorables shoes
2) Genevieve, Honey Nut Cheerios tot, Poppy (swapped eyes)
3) Robecca, Reeses tots, Phaedra
4) Rapunzel wearing jr RH top, barbie skirt, RH shoes, lego poppy, Saffron (dyed Meena), orange skull

WPL 2026: Win against Mumbai Indians among our best displays, says Gujarat Giants coach Klinger

Until Friday’s fixture in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Gujarat Giants hadn’t prevailed over Mumbai Indians in eight meetings.
Amid vociferous backing by its legion of fans at the Kotambi Stadium, Ashleigh Gardner’s side finally got rid of the millstone around its neck by registering a hard-earned 11-run victory. It also ensured a spot in the playoffs for the host.
According to Giants coach…

Winter display

I’m doing blue/white/black this year. May add some more stuff but for now, this is what we’re working with. The little tree and ornaments I bought several years ago, and the deer were my mom’s when I was a kid. I’ve always thought they were so elegant and beautiful, and was really happy to incorporate them into my winter doll display this year.

My favorite outfits in this lineup are G3 Abbey, Ghoulia, and G1 Abbey. I just really love her in that huge, fluffy coat. I should really do closeups for all of these looks, shouldn’t I…

Doll and outfit breakdown after the cut.

Left to right –

Skulltimate G3 Abbey, with buzzed hair, painted horns & claws, and earrings by me; SH Demi’s top, SH Natasha’s skirt, and shoes by Teddy Chubs Threads on mercari.

Tweens Gracie wearing Max Wonder’s shirt and skirt, and…someone’s shoes.

G3 Spectra in RH Sheryl’s top.

RH Amaya, wearing OMG Runway Diva’s jacket, top, and skirt, with RH Bella’s socks and SH Naomi’s shoes.

Signature G3 Frankie, with lip repaint by me; core refresh frankie’s glasses lightly customized by me; SH Zooey’s coat, their own top, OMG Gamma Babe’s skirt, and RH Skylar’s boots.

Gloom Beach G1 Ghoulia, with a Bratz top, creatable world skirt, barbie socks, and RH Blu’s shoes.

Roller Maze G1 Abbey wearing her own dress, SH Harley’s coat, and EAH boots

SH Karla wearing OMG Pearla’s jacket and skirt, with SH Natasha’s top and SH Heather’s boots.

This is totally random but does anyone have advice for buying a monitor? I’m getting a Mac Studio soon but the Apple displays are so wildly insanely expensive. If they were worth it I wouldn’t mind the cost but… I doubt they are.

I’ll be running video editing, photo editing, and illustration, like Clip Studio Paint and Illustrator, so the visuals and colour are important, but I don’t know anything about monitors.

Halp!

Hi GPODers!
Today is the day many children (and adults) wait all year for. The costumes and ready, the candy has been acquired, and hopefully the pumpkins on your front porch are still looking as fresh and festive as when you first set them out. While some are happy with a pumpkin or two, or have the tradition of carving creative designs every year, but others like to take their displays to the next level. This is where Siri Freeman and Andrea Albright come in. This mother and daughter create amazing front porch arrangements as an extension of the services offered by Freeman Lawn in Oxford, Mississippi. Despite the heat that still lingers in the south during autumn, this duo is able to transform any entryway into a fabulous fall scene.
We’re Siri and Andrea, a mother/daughter duo who love to sprinkle pumpkin love around the city of Oxford, MS. Since we live in the south our advice to people who decorate with pumpkins is to individually clean each pumpkin with a bleach bath (1 tbsp per gallon of water)—this preserves the pumpkins in the heat. What garden doesn’t look better with pumpkins?
While orange is obviously the most prominent color for pumpkins, the popularity of white and green pumpkins have exploded in recent years. This added diversity in readily available squash and gourds allow for way more options when creating a festive color palette. Even while mixing many different varieties here, Siri and Andrea created a cohesive orange, white, and green theme.
The wider view reveals the full picture: a walkway  dressed up with fall flavor. The addition of dried cornstalks add a bit more autumnal color to help balance the bright greenery that is still going strong in the garden.
In this entry, yellow and beige varieties add a bit more color to the display and get supported by pots bursting with mums in a matching assortment of yellow and orange.
A very creamy, neutral front porch gets a complimentary palette of more subdued colors that add plenty of interest while remaining complimentary to the existing aesthetic.
Lastly, the dark brick on the front of this house let Siri and Andrea amp up the boldness of this display. Subtle and subdued would get lost against all of that gorgeous brick, so bright yellow, deep green and very warm oranges all come together for a vibrant display that pops against the background.
Thank you so much for sharing your incredible creations with us Siri and Andrea! I absolutely agree that every fall garden is only enhanced by a plethora of colorful pumpkins and gourds, and you’ve given us endless inspiration for next year’s designs.
