Wings smug posture (at being right to see change in Drift), or perhaps he’s proud at how far Drift has come from Deadlock.
Drifts glance back at Wing, as though looking for support, or seeing if Wing believes in him. His ‘because I’ve found something worth fighting for’ just after looking back. Double meaning perhaps?
I am a believer in saying that, even from just these panels alone, that, if Wing was alive, Drift would have stayed in Crystal City (or at least he’d have rescued the alien salves from Braid (like he’d promised) and then returned) or Wing would have joined Drift and left Crystal City.
If Lockdown never arrived looking for him, Drift probably would have been lead down a different path, and I stand by that.
