Reread Love Bullet recently as there was a new chapter out. The art and writing is solid, but unfortunately I don’t really care for the fight scenes—but those are easy to flip through and well constructed in and of themselves. I find the manga is at its best when the cupids are observing the humans going about their lives and chapter fifteen really nailed that for me. The dynamic between Ena and Sae (especially since Sae appeared to be a cupid prior to the landslide) has shifted LB from passive interest to gimme the next chapter right meow for me.

LB also gets bonus points for giving pigeons the respect they deserve.

the guy she was interested in wasnt a guy at all, at least the first volume, is, in its thematic and narrative and aesthetic sensibilities, ready player one for 23 year old white lesbians who think nirvana is underrated. i say that in the sense that it references genuinely ubiquitous music in the hushed tones you’d see an 8 year old talk about a game with blood or boobs or both in it, and does that over and over and over whilst expecting it to mean Anything to me. it is egregious in its self indulgence and treats grunge like some lost tome of knowledge and the on screen dynamics between the main couple are so fucking overpoweringly neurotypical that it reads like a straight couple. it sucks. at no point do the girls develop the references they make any deeper than a vague namedrop and neither does their romance bring me to any deeper emotions than contempt, it poses in the woes of a love for music but refuses to extrapolate that stance into any meaningful discussion or engagement with that medium outside of very shallow aestheticisms. go read yuri made by perverts western dyke
