I say I’m sad all the time and people are like “ohhh it’s depression” “ohhhh get a therapist” NO. WRONG. WORMS IN BONES. BONE WORMS. there is no threpary for that. did I mention the worms are cursed and evil

So I’m marking this as body horror and putting the grosser images under the cut—BUT PLEASE BE WARNED!! There is body horror and worms crawling in/out of a body here.. it’s in my cartoonish style, so it might not be as bad as you’re thinking, but I’m still warning y’all now.

Thanks to my buddy Jay for the idea of Murder being inspired by Gummy Worms!! I had a lot of fun drawing them and making them look yucky and yummy at the same time.. :3

APPLE ROOTS PART TWO: WORMS, SPRING, THE APOCALYPSE

I know exactly why the apple orchard would have had to be cut down, in the place where it rained, and why Kris Dreemur uses apple shampoo. Even if you disagree with my assessment that Kris is self-harming, the other side of the subtext is undeniable. Where there are apples, there are apple worms.

Cold water falls from the top of the sky. It’s unavoidable, but eventually Spring will show up…

But if the weather can’t stick together… eventually, the April showers… Will bring the Worms.

The worms are false angels. The angel’s heaven is a lie they made, a falsehood that makes the citizens placated with sacrifice. Some of them are obviously worms, such as this NPC who poorly disguises himself as a bird.

The worms want flesh. We see it in Jockington.

It is implied that Jockington is far more important and sinister than people expect. He is the only lightner to be explicitly named in the prophecy. He constantly hangs out with Catti and references their friendship in absurd ways. I suspect that he is a leech that Kris and Catti summoned, as leeches are worms.

Worms wear false paint, they keep their true identities a secret in order to hide their intentions. But their paint runs off, they become gray and they lose the ability to disguise themselves. They cake up children, and cake up their bodies, but the makeup still runs off. Fur doesn’t run off. If Jockington got Catti to cover her wounds with makeup and hair, it would be easy to drain her of blood. Maybe even make her a goner.

They are in every known world, whatever shape the universe takes shape, they are there, be it text or subtext. The opposite of virtuous, they use hopelessness to drain the world. They lure children into the forest still, to eat them, so they may mature. Grow their beard. Or take a chunk of fur, put it to their mouth, like a five o clock shadow.

People don’t know. They know what a goner is, but not the implication of death, the decomposition, the rot that seeps into formerly good people. That turns them to the side of the liar. It even infects the Dark World. The rot seeps regardless of world. As the false angels infect, the world grows dark, yet darker. The worms are what some scholars would call “goners”. This is because when a child is “gone”, the worms are there to consume them, drain them of everything they are, to infest their body and spread their false gospel.

They await the rain, as a sign to begin their festival. Their sign that the festival feast may proceed. It was a compromise by the mayor, to keep them placated, to stop them from running wild. But it doesn’t work. There is only one way to banish them. But it must have a second meaning, or else Kris would be a goner. Their heart of PATIENCE broke, and they were filled with us, and our determination to save the world.

The worms will be banished, no matter what we do. Be it righteous sacrifice, vile manipulation, or a complete vanquishing of evil, this story ends the same way. Our choices don’t matter for that purpose.

In-fact, If you ever plan on dying make sure I can eat atleast part of your body. I’d like the heart the most obviously.

Just in case tho, if do become a worm or any other bug, would you rather be chewed or swallowed?

• I previously posted about this movie, and I can’t believe i not only rewatched this movie but am having to reevaluate it, in a first-ever for this blog.
• There are way more shots of worms (and some mealworms, not pictured) than I remembered. I would like to personally apologize to Habitat and Rene Daalder. I’m sorry i doubted you.

photographed a mystery tubeworm on sunday and put it on inat and now ive got two worm experts discussing it in the comments and a DM requesting my original video of it. kicking my feet in excitement!! it might be useful for a paper a paper a worm paper!! mystery worm might be an undescribed species!!
