When you finally feel the return of that creative spark, after it’s been MIA for weeks…
Had a fic idea, not for my TheePeach one, but at least it’s something. I’ll take anything, at this point, after a month of radio silence. It’s actually something KantBison related… which wasn’t even my favorite FK show, when I first watched it. But somehow it’s become the one I rewatch the most.
Still have my other FK one I wanna work on and really want to finish writing Peach’s POV. It’s started and I kinda know where I want it to go with it. I just need to actually sit down and write it. Maybe if I try to get a little more written, it’ll start flowing again.
I may try to set aside a little time, each day, to work on my writing. See how that goes. Even if it’s just 15 minutes or something.🤞

My commentary on The Heart Killers
I’m going over the show as whole in this post. It’s likely to be long,so I’m going to try to separate things into logical sections, but I can’t guarantee that everything will logically ordered. Anywho, this is for fun so don’t take it too seriously haha
The plot
The premise is very interesting. If someone had pitched this drama to me before I began watching BLs, I would have given it a try. I love a good “relationships under false pretexes” type dramas and to combine that with characters who live lonely high risk lives learning to be happy and love? Yes, absolutely, count me in.
Some people aren’t fans of this in general but I LOVE the fact that there are no coincidences in dramas. Kant being blackmailed into digging up info on a pair of hitmen, one of which turns out to be the cute guy from the incredible one night stand he had the night before? Then, while said onenight was happening, Style hit the other hitman’s car?? 11/10 no notes, delicious.
It’s compelling, and by presenting it through Kant and Style trying to unconver info about the brothers allows for THK to focus on the pairings, their relationships, and less on the hitman thing. So, the romance and the focus on it isn’t out of place. It’s logical.
Still, Fadel and Bison’s occupation as hitmen and how they came to be can still be felt in their characters arcs. As viewers do get a feel of the weight it has on them. It is never forgotten, the fact that they are highly skilled killers is always there in the background at minimum. I like the cohesiveness of it all.
My main criticism of the plot execution is that I still would have liked a bit more info about everything with Lilly. How much of the “these ppl are evil scums of the earth so you gotta kill them” stories were true? We can deduce that Lilly’s main criteria for targets was $$$ and status, but was she simply omitting that when concinving Fadel and Bison? Or did she straight up make-up things about the targets? Plus, her return would have been better if it had been foreshadowed, it’s not nonsensical (cos yes, money can buy one’s way out of jail) but cinematically, I feel it would have been more enjoyable to watch had we, the viewers, had a hint that it would have happened.
Plus, Keen never got an actual ending, which imo makes his subplot fall flat. Rather than do something half way, I’d have prefered his character not be so significant in relation to the brothers. (Ex. Former mentee than didn’t work out from before she decided to steel children)
I will discuss the prison arc after the characters!

I’m going to talk about the individual characters through their relationships as I feel that will prevent me from being too redundant. Please forgive me for not giving them their own sections ;-;
Kant and Style
These two have clearly been through shit together before lol. Between Kant just throwing Style at a hitman without hesitation or any warnings and Style’s ride or die-ness for Kant, those two are solid not only bcos of love but through experience. They complement each other well, their friendship is believable from the get-go. Kant has playboy tendencies and Style is playful and talks big but they both have such big hearts. They are both on the same wave length, only that Kant keeps it to himself more. They are partner’s in crime as much as Fadel and Bison are.
Fadel and Bison
My favourite non romantic relationship of the series. They managed to balance their brotherly bond with Fadel’s implicit leader/supervisor role. You can clearly see the moments in which Fadel is keeping Bison in check as his brother vs as the older more composed hitman. In a similar way, we can see when Bison is being an annoying lil brother vs opposing Fadel as a fellow professional (ex. With their wooing the secretary plan). They banter, they scold and tease each other, and they genuinely look out for one another. It’s what makes that scene when Fadel finds out that Bison actually asked Kant to convince Style to pursue him hurts so much. It adds another layer to the betrayal.
KantBison
I did not expect to like them this much, but the way the show went with a sexual dynamic that isn’t traditional for BLs made me so happy. Many have talked about it already but Bison preferring to bottom while still being the dominant one and Kant being submissive while topping was so refreshing and it is well done imo. It never feels weird or awkward.
However, I’m unsure about that kinky scene, need to rewatch it to be able to talk about it more, but I had a few questions while watching lol. Though, it does serve as a beautiful connector between loveydovey Bison to him going full kidnapper-murderer on Kant after he discovers the truth.I liked the significance that “penguin” gained through the episodes, that being said, they definetly need a new safe word lmao.
When their age gap was first revealed, I had a moment of “oh no, where are they gonna go with this”. But, I feared for nothing. Their personality differences stood out more than their age difference did. Which I’m thankful for.
Their ending was super cute, even if I heavily judged their inadequate winter gear.
FadelStyle
I’m not even sure where to start with these two. Part of me has so much to say and another just has a bunch of noises and gestures lmao.
FadelStyle perfectly embodies a couple dynamic that is in theory my fav, but rarely have I seen executed properly in tv. Yes, loud, bold, colourful Style essentially annoys his way into Fadel’s heart, but he is incredibly endeering, and he is multifaceted. From the start, Style is more than just “the loud annoying diva”, he was not annoying to me as a viewer, in fact he’s a fucking delight. Fadel is his opposite in many ways. Serious, reserved and strictly business. However, he is such a softie!!! He’s thoughtful, caring, and has these complex feelings and thoughts.
On the surface, the two might seem like they don’t go together, but they do so well! Fadel grounds Style, while in return Style lifts many of Fadel’s burdens (many self-imposed). Because let’s be real, if Fadel (also kant tbh) wasn’t the voice of reason, Style would have made an absokutely insane (and illegal) plan to help Fadel of his situation. Style has no chill, especially not when it comes to his man, as demonstrated in the active shooter scene among others.
Their ending was so satisfying!!! The one who finds joy in everyday things and the one who desperately wants a normal life building a future together!!!
Prison Arc
Fadel and Bison’s time in prison was surprising in many ways, but it is a great conclusion and a perfect summary of all of the relationships that exist between the four main characters.
With the pressure off, we get to see the unburdened brotherly relationship between Fadel and Bison. More Kant and Style scheming together! Kant, of course, has the more reasonable ideas. Even the captain thought the two wanted to be thrown in jail lmao.
Kant and Bison flirty, hot and heavy with confidence. Fadel being cautious but ultimately giving in to what both he and Style want. His fear of being abandoned that he manages to push down and trust Style after talking it out.
I could go on forever, but this post is already a whole ass essay lmao. Kudos if anyone actually reads all of it.
To make things short, I absolutely would not have been upset if THK had ended with Kant and Style giving their gifts to their boyfriends after they get released, thats how good the sequence is.

I lost my hyperfixation before I came up with a good story for Fadel’s scar and his tattoo, but I really did enjoy developing those head canons. I still want my wedding with Style rocking his cropped tuxedo.

I laughed at myself for remembering all of that as that show was prior to my blogging time. In full transparency, I had no outline or agenda for that post. I didn’t know what it was going to become when I started writing. It took on a life of its own, but I really loved how it turned out.
