What a bad day, my allergies are so bad that my eyes encrusted with phlegm, my philtrum and the skin surrounding it is so dry and damaged from consisting nose blowing.

I might continue to stay in the city and may work closer. I had an appointment to see a car dealer today, but I turned it down. I’m sick of cars and paying money. I’m sick of the gas prices increasing, I know it will improve or balance out soon, but I don’t care. I know I’m tired and sleep deprived,

I finally finished my taxes and I feel a lot better getting it out of the way. I didn’t owe much this time, last year, I owed over $1500 since I relied on Marketplace which sucks, I’m sticking with private insurance and will continue to have healthy habits and eat healthy. I’m sick of the Marketplace and owing so much money.

Okay, I don’t owe much for taxes from 2025, and I’ll be okay at saving money this year. Thank GOD!

Good morning, are you American? Are you using TurboTax to put your taxes together this year and are once again outraged by the highway robbery in fees? Are you ineligible to use the free IRS guided tax software? Well I’m here with your “unethical” life hack of the day.

Do the following. It’s a little more work, but it’ll be worth it to maximize your refund.

- Go through TurboTax like normal, but don’t hit confirm payment

- There should be an option to view your return. Click this. You can now view your return as the actual tax forms. Hold onto this.

- Go to IRS.gov and find Free File Fillable Forms.

- You’re going to use the return TurboTax prepared for you as a guide to fill out the same forms. You may have to enter your W2 again, and may need to add another form or two to get it to match, but it will be pretty good at telling you where you’re missing something.

- Once it’s all together, hit submit and revel in your extra 200 bucks

Of course, if you’re comfortable following IRS instructions and filling out the form on your own, you could always just skip the TurboTax step, but I know a lot of people are intimidated by that, so ta-da

I was going through the checklist from the place that does my taxes, and it asked me 4 times if I had gambling losses.

I don’t, but I can start if they think it will help my return! 😆

actual business post for my fellow young adults (in america)

have you heard people talking about filing your taxes for free and/or online? this is true!

what they don’t tell you (or at least not the ones ive seen) is that your FEDERAL and/or STATE return may not be free and depends on your income. if you go through different filing websites directly they may not tell you this. i almost paid $16 to file my state tax return (which, albeit is not much but still!) and instead accessed the website directly from the IRS then made a new account and was able to file my state tax return for free.

the best part! the IRS will do the search for you and let you know if you can get free filing in your state!

i used the guided software -> find a trusted partner and it let me file through FreeTaxUSA for free! and upload all my documents virtually! huzzah!

you can access information on how to file your taxes electronically hereeeeeeeee

if you already know your annual income is under $89,000 and would like to file online you can choose whether to pick your own or let the IRS recommend you options on where to file hereeeeeee

sharing this just in case someone needs it! i spent almost 2 hours doing my taxes when the process only takes 30 min or less because i got a weird vibe from TurboTax (would not let me file unless i accepted multiple terms that said “we were not going to sell your data we pinky promises”) and then, as i mentioned, i went through filing with FreeTaxUSA only to see I was going to have to pay $16 to file my state taxes when my i shouldn’t have to! do not pay if you do not have too!!

Ah yes, tax season. Give me the money you know you owe me but I have to pay $300 for a tax-expert ($150 for the expert, $150 to even file) to tell me.

if you have the resources to do so, i highly recommend getting your taxes done by a professional. it took all my anxiety away and not having to worry about, y'know… accidentally committing fraud
