If I won the lottery I would buy my terminally ill dad his life saving medicine, because in the United States you can’t simultaneously be on any form of hospice and be insurance covered on the medicine that extends your lifespan.
There’s tons of other things I would do, being that I’ve been impoverished all my life, but getting that medicine would be a my first act

I was curious about minimum wage adjusted for inflation, so I took the nerdy option and made a spreadsheet and graph. The blue line is the actual numbers [source] and the orange line is that value calculated [here] for inflation. Our federal minimum wage has been $7.25/hour 2009, the equivalent of $10.36/hour today (Nov 20th, 2023).

So, seeing that the pools are in Turkey, even if you live in a hole in the ground, even if you don’t know that they’re on limestone cliffs coming from mineral-rich springs, how on Earth could anyone think, much less say:

prescription insurance in the US letter: “On Jan 1, 2023 we no longer cover the medicine you’ve been successful with for 5 years (expensive C), try these other two: Cheap A, expensive B”.
Switch to Cheap A, works fine. A few months later “On July 1, 2023, we no longer cover cheap A medicine, try expensive B or expensive C”.
Ask Dr. to switch back to expensive C a few months later. Pharmacy “nope your insurance doesn’t cover it”. Grrrr….

Alright, since were all now have just about 37 days left until this very life defying and extremely important critical election to go, I’m going to yet again for the last time reminds some of ya’ll how damn important this freaking election actually is and what’s at stake. The GOP & Trump are literally trying there damnist to go against Ruth Bader Ginsburg wish to wait to have her seat refiled until there is a new president and Congress during election, but as of now they are seriously but not surprisely trying so hard to undo this woman legacy and all that she stands for. An woman who spent her entire life fighting for women rights and equality Is at the moment considering being replaced by Amy Barrett whose views and policies will have drastic impact on many Americans for the next 40 years, a woman who if seated as Trump newest SCOTUS nominee will not only overturn roe vs wade & set women heavily back for generations…but also along with Trump other conservatives Extremist judges nominees will severely undo the many hard earned won progress rights the LGBTQ community have fought for decades and will most likely overturn marriage equality as well as other basic equal rights or freedoms that been fought by those who risks their lives for these rights that been so hard to gain. Including getting rid of the Affordable health care act for millions of Americans and so many more during a literal pandemic…, really for all you young people around my age range or those younger who’ve just turned the proper voting age please now is not the time to make bullshit excuses or to wonder whether or not your going to vote when each of your basic rights are actually being under attack & threaten to be taken away. MAKE A PLAN & FUCKING VOTE cause it maybe your last; VOTE In high numbers so large to flip not just Trump but also the Senate for real this election isn’t about Right vs Leftist or about Democrats vs Republicans. After this election is done, we have to force out this corporatist BS that’s taken over both parties and advocate for something better. If they don’t change, I don’t think this country will take it anymore. What an interesting time to be alive, honestly.
