Spring runs are coming soon!
March 15 2026
Was better fueled for the run than yesterday, but was more tired and the legs more sore. Along with the wind gusts and warmer than expected temps, the way I was feeling required a slow easy run. It was a slow slog but nevertheless still 8 miles. Glad to get it done, felt great afterwards, looking forward to the next one.

Fastest pace ever this week!!! 13:41 for my 4 mile which was super exciting! My knee was killing me for the 3 mile so I’m really glad it was better today!

One week ago, 3-4 feet of snow, this week, spring found us. Hitting 50k a week on my runs. 👌

Busy all day crossing off items on the “to do” list, didn’t get a chance to run til the evening, and by then felt mentally drained along with being hungry. This was the backdrop to the evening 8 miler through the neighborhood. The run never got better, nearly bonked in the middle of it but made it back home ok. Glad to at least get in a run on an empty tank. Refueled with a big dinner tonight and hopefully will power up tomorrow.

And here’s me after my own run. Only 3kms, got back home 5 minutes before the rain came.
ALTNo running, but I run-directed my local parkrun. Here’s me and about 500 friends

Happy Friday the 13th! Fortunately it was a great running day, even if the weather was lousy. Not only has winter returned, it was a messy wintry mix of rain and snow all day along with wind gusts. None of this prevented me from getting in a solid run, though, I have too much momentum these days. A slow recovery 10 miler to the park and back, it was a peaceful center to the stormy evening.
Solid steady state run today, 50 minutes at SS effort. I can definitely feel myself getting fitter, but a big test awaits this weekend as my long run steps up to 13. That will be on Sunday. Tomorrow I’ll do an easy run or cross train to be ready.
01: 13/03/2026, week one

Upper body and couch to 5k week 1 run 1 (again)
Finally, I got my gym membership back after having to pause it for a month. It’s time to try to get back to it!
I’m honestly so happy to be back going to the gym, I’ve missed it!
Tw for mental health and body image talk
[[MORE]]Honestly, I’m sick and tired of my own inconsistency the past too many months and as much as I try not to focus on my body or my weight when it comes to the gym, because I try to focus more on getting stronger and fitter, I’ve gained a lot of weight and I’m the most insecure I’ve been in my body in a few years. My confidence and mental health have been horrible lately, and I’ve really been struggling. So this is my first step to trying to help myself feel better and get to a better place. Obviously, there’s a lot more to my bad mental health than my body, and I have a lot to figure out in my personal life; financially, and work wise mostly. But this is my first step in the right direction. Baby steps. Because I’m tired of feeling bad about myself.

Was in a MOOD before my run, but running helped (for a few minutes, then my mood returned and was honestly worse). Went right into a long walk after my run, which might not be the smartest thing to keep doing, but 🤷🏻♀️
My half is in three weeks, and then I’m going to primarily focus on time-based runs during my downtime before marathon training kicks in. Running for time is such a different vibe for me, and I feel strong not paying attention to my watch.

9 x 400m @ 5k pace ✅ really great sky (that the picture doesn’t do justice) ✅
This was hard, but I showed up and still felt good enough. It felt like I didn’t really get into a comfortable rhythm with the intervals until the last two, so a lot of this just felt a bit disjointed. But we got it done!
lol it’s snowing 🥴
I’m glad I skipped my run yesterday because, while the weather didn’t turn until well after my run would’ve been over, I actually ended up taking a nap that I didn’t realize my body truly needed. So that’s good. And then also it down poured, there was hail, and there was so much thunder and lightning through the rest of the night.
So now it’s snowing. We’ll see what it looks like out there in a couple hours when I go get my run in. Hopefully the snow has stopped, hopefully it’s not super icy 🤞🏻
Between today and tomorrow, I need to get yesterday’s speed intervals done. The goal is to do that today, but if I get out there and it’s icy, I’ll pivot to an easy run and push my intervals to tomorrow. So we shall see what my runs look like today and tomorrow 🤷🏻♀️
