I’ve always loved the rain. I see why they use it in movies after someone dies.

ALTThank fucking Thor.
Living on a farm means seeing this and feeling like it’s Christmas at age 8 again.
Thunder also didn’t let me sleep but whatever, it hasn’t seriously rained in like three weeks, and now the corn might actually live to maturity. Hell yeah. Fantastic start to the day.
What if I just decided to quit everything and become a rainblr or stormblr hmmm who’s to stop me from only posting aesthetic photos and videos of rain
Yesterday was a struggle to say the least. Coming off the 4th night shift I felt hungover-ish but when I’m off of my last shift I always feel excited to be finished so I tend to not want to sleep. Not sleeping is always a bad idea but sleeping too much is equally bad because then I’ll be up all night and when my day shift comes back around Wednesday I’ll feel like complete garbage waking up at 3am. Despite grogginess I managed to get up fairly early and worked all day on the yard. Honestly it wasn’t a days worth of work but I was allowing myself to move slower than I normally would recognizing I hadn’t slept quite enough and it’s definitely moving into the Louisiana hot/humid season and I’m not quite acclimated yet.
Feels dorky to track my mowing mileage 😂 but it’s definitely a workout !

Despite it all it was a very good day and I think the time outside put me in a really good mood.

Saw this dood catch a snack on one of my many extended breaks. I felt like I sweated half my body weight out there. I guess a mild suffering will be the name of the game for this summer’s running.
Right after finishing up @jbrightraven and I decided to hurry up and run to the grocery store for supper stuff before the impending thunderstorm blew all the way in.

We managed to beat the rain shopping so we were able to enjoy the rain at home without the pressure of running around in it (I can’t lie I do love a good thunderstorm in the evening!!!!).
And what can make an evening thunderstorm even better? The drizzly rainbows.

If you zoom in on the 2nd rainbow you can see a bald eagle that was hanging around my neighbors yard flying over the trees.

I was tagged for a selfie by the super cool @pr0teinprincess but instead I’ll use the pictures Jayne took of me. Catch me post night shift, post lawn mowing, dirty and drenched in sweat drinking a beer in a drizzle under a rainbow ~ that just how we’re trying to live over here!!
And to continue the positive vibes here’s the damsel fly I rescued from the rain yesterday and the sunrise from this morning

Anyways hoping all of you out there are having a good start to your week!!!
Had some storms yesterday. Apparently it was enough to:

Actually, I wasn’t all that pleased with this pic. There was a bit too much light on the upper left side and that part is kind of over exposed. But I’m posting this because it gives a little insight as to why today’s run was a short one.
The upper right side of the photo doesn’t really do justice to the heavy clouds rolling in from the north as I took this early in the run. I really thought, based on the location of the storm clouds and the route I was running, that I would skirt the edge of the storm and get home before the downpour hit. No such luck. I turned around and made my way back home, and still wound up pretty wet when I got back indoors!
But at least I got a run in for Father’s Day!
Was going to grill out for dinner.
Now, not so much.
On another note, this makes for a nice way to enjoy the new wind chimes our kids fell in love with at the garden store yesterday.
Is a long time to work in an emergency department. I didn’t have a terrible time, but not gonna lie I definitely want to hide in a hole and glare at anyone (other than husband-dude and one particular equally introverted friend of mine) who dares attempt to engage me in any form of conversation.
Also it’s raining and I’m sleepy and all I really want to do with my blog right now is post gifs of rain and spotify links to Nora Jones songs.
