What You’ll Need
Comfortable clothing! -> Always important. make sure you’re dressed for the temperature.
Blanket or quilt -> Comfortable and calming, make sure you’re laying on it properly so you can Cloudview properly!
Schedule or walk -> Make sure you don’t stay out too long nearing the middle of the day.
Sunscreen and Bug spray -> Very important unless you want to be bit by mosquitoes
Phone or camera -> Perfect for shots of odd shaped clouds or pretty sky colors
Hat, water, snacks. -> Always needed! you’ll probably be out longer than expected, so it’s important to stay hydrated and fed!
Alarm -> Just in case you decide to take a nap!
Sketchbook -> Draw what the clouds inspire you or remind you of!
Good spot -> Pick a spot with a relatively clear view of the sky (IE, no trees or large plants or buildings blocking the way)
Planning
Pick your time and place! You want a nice time when there are going to be clouds in the sky, so morning or evening are best for beautiful colors; even nighttime is a good time for cloudviewing! Midday will not usually work, it’ll be too clear.
Check all your items. do you have everything you need? Make sure you don’t forget anything!
Check if any of your family or friends want to go with you! it might just be you, but that’s okay.
You’ll get more peace that way. If you plan on taking a nap, make sure you bring a pillow and set an alarm!
On the go
You can Cloudview from a car, too.
Road trips are great for cloudviewing, since you’re going many places.
DO NOT disturb any ants or wasps while laying down to cloudview!
you don’t want to be bit or stung. Rest, and relax.
Cloudviewing is all about the little moments and imagination.
Take as many pictures as you want.
take pictures of the little things, like a plane in the sky, or a bird soaring overhead, or a cloud you saw.
Dressing
If it’s cold, make sure you dress comfy and cozy!
Bring something warm to drink, and keep hand warmers in your pockets. If it’s hot, keep your outfit light and breezy.
You don’t want to stay outside if it’s too hot, so keep it to smaller intervals of viewing.
Write down everything you see
Keep in mind; a cloudviewing session is all about the little moments. this means the planes you see, the birds in the sky, the items drifting by, and the cloud formations.
