Happy 4th Birthday Full Circle!

Full circle was written after many late night conversations with a friend. And the two of us wanting something sweet but adventurous. And now here we are 4 years later. I cannot believe it’s been this long! This book was a lot of fun to write and if you pick it up. I hope it’s a lot of fun for you to read.

Back in September I was asked to join in a 21-day poetry challenge. The top 20 collections then went to publication. I was among the winners, and the fruits of my labors have arrived.

Poetry, you ask? I have to admit, it was the competitive vibe that first caught my attention. I’d been doing quite a bit of reflection (through shadow self therapy, if you’re familiar), and decided to sign up.

Full disclosure, it was a targeted ad that offered a spot in the competition. I did pay a nominal fees for participation and publication. Everything behind the scenes came from BookLeaf and Amazon. The content of the book and cover design are all mine.

Unfortunately the Amazon Author Portal is having a delay, so I can’t give you a link to all my published works. I’ll definitely post it here when it’s available.

But be happy for me in the meantime! Any publication is a feather in a writer’s hat. :)

101 poems, a little over 200 pages, selected from a ~10 year span? loosely organized into sections as best as I could justify with a section title.

Naturally, you’re encouraged to buy a copy, if you can/want. As the author, I can solidly guarantee that some of them are good 👍

We’re all pretty big fans of “Release” around here (full text in the alt of the third picture), so the theming of the cover (and, to some extent, the title) was made with that in mind. The background text is basically a bunch of lines that I selected by using ctrl+f on our final draft for a few keywords like “release” “hold” or “let” (you get the idea). They should all be on the inside somewhere.

Both interpretations of the title are valid; the life of clinging on to something is one half lived or! the time we have to hold on to things is limited (like the way the helium in a balloon has a half-life that limits how long it will be able to float). I was aiming for the latter but I’m not one to turn down bonus meanings.

Really proud of all that went into this, really satisfied with the finished version, excited to share it with tumblr as this would not have happened without it (a story)

I, after Me

I am more than happy and excited to announce that my first poetry book, “I, After Me,” is finally out! I’m doing my little happy dance — with a few imaginary somersaults too.

Writing is a journey. Kicking it Old School for the first Draft of Don’t forget me. 🙃 Can’t wait to see it on the screen once I type in up.

Good start to the week. Mostly.

Very random Cin fun facts:

• Cin is autistic!
• He’s Heteromantic Asexual, he’ll have a love interest by the end of book 2 going into book 3… you think it’s gonna be earlier than that but this boy is VERY oblivious
• Cin’s energy makes him run hot, so he doesn’t get cold easily at ALL. Like he could be out in the snow and be perfectly fine in his usual dress. In fact I have this visual in my head where snow actually melts around him when he walks through it.
• Cin absolutely refuses to wear shoes. Barefoot or die baby
