The Sun, our familiar star, is not fixed in place but travels on a grand orbit around the Milky Way’s center.

This journey, known as a galactic year or cosmic year, takes approximately 225 million Earth years to complete one full loop, as the Solar System hurtles along at about 828,000 kilometers per hour.

Born roughly 4.6 billion years ago from a collapsing cloud of gas and dust, the Sun has already finished about 20 such orbits since its formation.

This figure comes from dividing its current age by the orbital period (4.6 billion ÷ 225 million ≈ 20.4, often rounded to 20 completed orbits).

In galactic terms, our star is middle-aged, having lived through roughly two dozen of these vast cycles.

Stellar evolution models indicate the Sun has about 5 billion years of stable hydrogen fusion left in its core before it exhausts this fuel.

As the core contracts and heats up, the outer layers will expand dramatically, swelling the Sun into a red giant that engulfs inner planets like Mercury and Venus, while scorching Earth.

Dividing those remaining 5 billion years by 225 million yields approximately 22 more galactic orbits.

Thus, the Sun has 20 orbits behind it and 22 ahead before this transformative phase begins, placing its total lifetime at around 42 galactic years—a brief but spectacular chapter in the galaxy’s enduring story.

An oldie from 2014 and its redraw 2 years after in 2015. Maybe another redraw could do this some extra service, given some of the skills I’ve been relearning ever since I got back into art?

“What happens when a solar superstorm hits Mars? Thanks to the European Space Agency’s Mars orbiters, we now know: glitching spacecraft and a supercharged upper atmosphere.

In May 2024, Earth was hit by the biggest solar storm recorded in over 20 years. It sent our planet’s atmosphere into overdrive, triggering shimmering auroras that were seen as far south as Mexico.

This storm also hit Mars. Fortunately, ESA’s two Mars Orbiters—Mars Express and ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO)—were in the right place at the right time, with a radiation monitor aboard TGO picking up a dose equivalent to 200 "normal” days in just 64 hours.

A new study published in Nature Communications, reveals in greater depth how this intense, stormy activity affected the red planet.

“The impact was remarkable: Mars’s upper atmosphere was flooded by electrons,” says ESA Research Fellow Jacob Parrott, lead author of the study. “It was the biggest response to a solar storm we’ve ever seen at Mars.”

The superstorm caused a dramatic increase in electrons in two distinct layers of Mars’s atmosphere at altitudes of around 110 and 130 km, with numbers rising by 45% and a whopping 278%, respectively. This is the most electrons we’ve ever seen in this layer of the Martian atmosphere.“

"Jacob and colleagues captured the aftermath of three solar events—all part of the same storm, but different in terms of what they throw out into space, and how they do it: one flare of radiation, one burst of high-energy particles, and an eruption of material known as a coronal mass ejection (CME).

Together, these events sent fast-moving, energetic, magnetized plasma and X-rays flooding towards Mars. When this barrage of material hit the planet’s upper atmosphere, it collided with neutral atoms and stripped away their electrons, causing the region to fill up with electrons and charged particles.

"The results improve our understanding of Mars by revealing how solar storms deposit energy and particles into Mars’s atmosphere—important, as we know, the planet has lost both huge amounts of water and most of its atmosphere to space, most likely driven by the continual wind of particles streaming out from the sun,” says Colin.“

Dude ok I forgot to post these cool cookies I made a while back so here

(Also they were made at a Valentine’s day party)

The last two are the utter pandemonium that is the aftermath

I tried to make them all look like planets but the third one doesn’t look like a pattern on a planet so

Pluto, Mars, Saturn—they have a very bad reputation. I always say there are no bad planets, nor bad aspects or transits, if a person can reflect on it all and grasp it.

The Planetary Line of Pluto

One can take it however they wish. I notice that Pluto, Saturn, and Mars are three planets that are not for everyone. If one does not understand the traditional ruler, how can they understand the demands of the new one? In a way, they are both the same, yet each is different. When one goes against something—both Mars and Pluto create chaos. Pluto creates pressure. It is like being trapped between two trains pressing in on you. The more one ignores Pluto, the greater the pressure it creates; what’s more—everything one has built, everything one strives for, vanishes before their eyes. Man, often a less-understanding creature, nevertheless continues. At this point, one must ask the fundamental question: who is the idiot in this case? Me or Pluto? We know the answer, so let’s move on!

Note: Mars is like a bolt from the blue—it destroys everything without pressure or effort, and it does so every time it sees a person grasping at those ruins. Again, the question: who is the idiot then? Man or Mars? Here too, we know the answer, so let’s move on.

Pluto is a powerful energy that is not here to destroy, torture, or depress us, but rather to lead us to ourselves. And perhaps it is the Pluto on my North Node speaking, but that is how it is. When I look back even to the times it had serious and deep conversations with my Sun, Moon, and Venus in Scorpio—it gave me the opportunity to touch the deepest part of myself. There, where the sun does not shine. The Tartarus of one’s own soul, as it demolished the internal structure (Capricorn is also a sign of structure; internal and external). The confrontation was diverse, and I can say it was primarily with internal “blocks” and “fears” (I still say that people don’t need therapy; I’d argue there are people who just need a kick—in the head, so the lightbulb switches on), but also with that part that was deeply buried. I can write that many things rose beautifully into consciousness, and within it all came the realization that “this is truly a no.” Looking at everything one carries within. Not just within this life. And now, after years, I can say that I myself stand on the threshold of my own personal history; Pluto in Aquarius on my North Node…

The Planetary Line and the Guidance of Pluto in General

And so we go to look at that “bastard,” that “despot,” and largely “manipulative bitch.” The Lord of the Underworld.

That which does not want to go deep, it destroys; that which does not want to transform, it destroys. That which does not understand its demand, it destroys—so plain, so simple.

Pluto is truth, it is authenticity, and often when it arrives—when one lives on its line or when it rules the horoscope (it is my second planet, the third is the Sun; it shares the same values with Sat[urn])—with every arrival, with every announcement, it strips away layers that often weren’t even ours. We reach our own core and in the end, we are naked—and believe it or not—not everyone is cut out to be naked. That is the problem. Pluto sees us to the core. To the bone marrow, and man cannot stand that. Cannot endure it. Cannot endure the cruel truth about themselves, cannot endure the core it reveals. People often cannot manage to meet themselves (never mind that many stroke their egos with Pluto and Saturn on Facebook because “big planets” are more than planets—they are a reminder of ourselves). If a person lives on the line of Pluto, if it rules them or is on the AC, DC, IC, or MC; every time that person goes against themselves—Pluto begins to intervene. And that carousel I mentioned above starts. Pressure, everything falling apart. Until the person again sets out on the right path—toward themselves. When necessary, Pluto goes to extremes—it takes everything. Because hitting rock bottom forces a person to look inward again. In fact, rock bottom forces a person to come to their senses. The fact that a person is deaf and blind to the signals—Pluto cannot be blamed for that (again, one can ask the question, who is the idiot).

Purely and simply: Pluto is the soul; it strives for the person to fulfill their soul’s potential, to walk the path they are meant to walk. Not the one others want (fuck them), but the individual themselves.

In order for a person to walk that path—they need a conference with themselves, to look into themselves. To live with what Pluto shows them, and let’s be honest; as I wrote, it isn’t always liked—it is a privilege and a gift for people who are not afraid to look, to drink their own poison.

Pluto is our authentic Self without the wrapping. It is a mirror that accepts only the one who has tasted themselves, who has tried their own medicine and was not afraid to go into their darkness to meet themselves.

When a person does not understand the demand of any planet, they are a misfortune unto themselves.

The line of Pluto is simple, just like Pluto in the birth chart, transit, or progression; to accept reality, to be authentic, and to go deeper than the doorstep.

In the context of the AC, it places greater emphasis precisely on the authentic nature; one should avoid manipulation and playing games, otherwise dear Pluto will turn it against them.

On the DC, it’s a different story because it varies. For people who haven’t known themselves and haven’t met themselves, it doesn’t take much. Conversely, for those who have met and known themselves—it is different, and these people, though they attract (mostly men/women who want to control, to have power) people who are a mirror. Either Pluto outlines it and the person stays to “battle” with themselves and their internal integrity, or else—tough luck—and they leave in a bit. Pluto here is like Lilith—it does not tolerate weak individuals.

On the IC, it is very colorful and interesting because here a person wants to build what they didn’t have as a child.

On the MC; often a high position, however, within the context of Pluto—beware; if one acts against Pluto and its demand, Pluto will destroy them. Power is meant to be used wisely.

Within the context of prana—Pluto brings a great axis of maturation that is not easy. Many leave after two years, they run away, and Pluto has—purely and simply—squeezed them dry.

Pluto is not an easy energy; when a person does not grasp it correctly, they run.

PS: It is a fact that Scorpios, and especially people who have Lilith, Mars, or inner planets and Pluto itself in Scorpio—very often stay, because they revel in its “embrace.” No wonder—Scorpio simply has a patent on it.

No planet is responsible for a person’s misfortune. Man is his own destruction—he doesn’t need Pluto for that.
