4 Tomàquets grans per amanir pero vermells
1 ó 2 Llaunes de tonyina amb oli

Olives on Toast

This is my own creation and the current go-to household snack.

Ingredients

  • A sturdy toast, mine is sourdough
  • Cream cheese
  • Boars Head Calabrian Sweet & Hot Olives (these are, unfortunately, non-negotiable)
  • Parmesan
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salsa Macha (I use Trader Joe’s brand)

The assembly is pretty straightforward. Toast your toast (I freeze most bread so extra essential.) Then, spread your cream cheese. And then put all the ingredients on. I cut the olives in half with kitchen scissors, my partner doesn’t cut them at all. You do you. I like to brown the bottom a bit more in the cast iron, but that’s a voluntary extra step.

It’s sweet and spicy and crunchy. A very satisfying little snack
