Today we pause to remember the last two Coast Guard MIAs lost November 29, 1942 in Greenland. LT John Pritchard and Radioman 1st Class Benjamin Bottoms were lost when the Grumman J2F-4 Duck floatplane crashed on the Greenland Icecap during a rescue attempt. On November 28, the pair made one successful landing on the ice cap bringing two of the most injured crewmen from a crashed US Army Air Corps B-17 back to the USCGC Northland landing in the dark as the cutter used its searchlight to mark their landing zone. On the morning of November 29 the pair once again headed out to the crashed B-17. Meanwhile an overland expedition that was approaching the crashed plane ran into trouble when a motor sled fell through an ice bridge into a crevasse. Pritchard and Bottoms took off from the B-17 with Army Cpl. Loren Howarth with the intention of returning with additional Northland crew to search for the motorized. As they took off conditions deteriorated quickly. They were last seen disappearing into a cloud bank. Their last, fading radio calls had them asking for directions back to the cutter. The crashed Duck was sighted several days later with no signs of life. The remaining crew of the B-17 were rescued in March 1943. Several expeditions have been made to recover the missing Duck and her crew but none have been successful so far.

I have been an #ambassador for @famme for nearly a year now and I have loved and still love their sportswear. I’m proud to be an ambassador for this great company and hope to continue representing them as they grow.

The reason for this is to apologise to @famme and the Famme ambassador’s.

For over a month now I have been #missinginaction. At the start it was because I was away on a #welldeserved holiday so took a break from the gym. But until his week I haven’t been able to go to the gym due to a problem with my knee. It had been sore to walk to far or for too long and I was unable to get to the gym. My knee is now getting better and the swelling has gone done.

I got back to the gym for the first time on Monday (I wore @Famme techna tights in dark blue for my first time back) and was only able to do upper body and that is still the case until my doctor tells me otherwise. But things are above change as I have made the choice to work with @steffie_loves a #personaltrainer to help me in the gym.
