Instinct verses Intuition.

When working your craft, how do you draw the line between instinct and intuition? Being alterhuman, I have to accept that I will always be an instinct driven creature, and sometimes it can be a struggle to tell the difference. Instinct is an internal dialogue that tells us how things work, it’s a force that guides our decisions. Everyone has instincts, they tell us when to eat, when to sleep, when there is danger. Intuition is a similar guiding force often surrounding the energy of a situation or object. They overlap quite frequently, but learning to identify the difference can be crucial for your craft.

When you start to feel that pull towards something, ask yourself; Is this something my mind is telling me, or is it something that the energy around me is telling me? This can take a lot of practice, but its a wonderful skill to learn and master.

An easy way to practice is to go and pick up objects you find around. What do you feel when you pick it up? Hold that feeling, focus on it. Now try to take it apart. Do you feel that way because of memories you have associated with it? Or does it not seem to have a reason? If you picked up a can of play-doh and you felt positive, is that because you have fond memories of playing with it? If you pick up a leaf outside do you feel calm because you used to sit under this type of tree? Take that instinct, and dig deeper. Underneath that, what do you feel? Instinct and intuition both have their space in your craft, but knowing the difference can completely change the context behind why you picked up that rock, or why you decided to add this ingredient instead of that ingredient.

A little update here.

First of all I want to thank everyone who has been supporting my writing, currently my latest fic. It means the world to me to read the comments and know hpw much people are enjoying reading it. I love not only writing about a new angle on Steve and Buckyls relationship, with different backstreet and challenges, but also having fun with Jurassic Park/World lore and teaching people new things about dinosaurs ( being the Dino nerd that I am haha). Its a joy to write this story for you all and is providing a welcome distraction from from some annoying stress in my life lately.

The new chapter is in progress as we speak and it is setting up the final arc of this story so stay tuned. And this story is onpyPart One of what i’m calling The Jurassic Soldier series just FYI. So there is a minor spoiler hehe. Im having lots of fun guys 😁😁

And for my ( self-proclaimed haha) #1 fan @smlmsworld I have to give you a kitty update, they are doing well amd as cure as ever as ypu can see 😁

❤️❤️❤️ to you and everyone else 🐈🤣

In “Consider Her Ways” by Frederick Philip Grove, there is a phrase that has trouble me for some time. He says “the human race-conceit of the investigator” What could this mean? I thought this might be about investigating different species (races??) of ants, but I was wrong.

It’s actually another one of his jokes: “the human race-conceit of the investigator” is Grove saying that humans do science instinctively. Birds build their nests, the human creature investigates things.

I’m always a little suspicious when some guy from 1947 starts tossing around the word “race” so maybe that’s part of why I missed it on the first pass.

I’ve also looked up most of the species names that he uses for ants. They have all been revised: but some aspects of the story make even more sense now that I know the modern names of the ants he’s talking about.

one thing i like about aprico is their ability to wordlessly communicate among each other and realize fighting as separate entities would hurt each other. like they know each other so well they instinctively know how to fight together without even needing to talk about it

Normally, you come to me to assist in your hunt for some deranged mastermind, but today you want me to hack into a 12-year-old’s bejeweled cell phone to discover who was, like, being a total liar?

↳ BONUS:

So Zoey was impersonating Maddie so Maddie would take the blame… while also undermining Maddie’s friendship with Aidan.

I was aware of the folly of my undertaking, but all my life I had acted on instinct. Sanity, therefore, was the wrong yardstick. I was where I had to be, that was all that mattered.

Discernment is one of the greatest things you can train. Your instinct will not lie to you, your body will react accordingly. If that person makes you physically ill from anxiety and stress, that is your brain and body communicating.

Trust it.

in December I slept with

one hand over my heart and I
think it was a promise. a swear
pose. an apology. a defense against
dark matter. I think it was instinct.
a reclaiming. feral desire to hold on
to that which is warm and rose-
colored / untethered / prone
to erratic behavior / poorly
matched / dangerously over-
grown / past the breaking
point

I think it was a sign. a glimpse
into the grave. a failed attempt
to resuscitate the little life
inside.

ENTRY 572

Being Alone >>> Wrong People

Right People >>> Wrong People

Even if you’re not a psychologist, energy never lies. Pay close attention to how you start to feel around certain people, how they make you feel. Instinct isn’t a woman thing, it’s a human thing. Regardless of gender, tap into it. It will never steer you in the wrong direction. More thoughts later.
