Uh, so I straight up made a new word, which is ‘Gloomification’.

Its kinda like the opposite of glorification? It basically means 'to make something seem more terrible than it actually is’, though it is related a bit to how people romanticize their own sadness or other people’s suffering. Or it is related to people being so pessimistic or filled with hatred for something or someone that they demonize that thing. No matter what reason its for though, it specifically means to basically demonize something or to make it oddly depressing for no reason.

Someone basically hating every aspect of life for example, or not appreciating aspects in their life, would be 'gloomifying’ their life—which would be the opposite of romanticizing ones own life.

Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

Salvation: Forgiveness, Reconciliation, Justification, Sanctification and… Glorification

Colossians 1:21 KJB — And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

⚓Forgiveness of sins, reconciliation, sanctification and justification are all distinct elements of the salvific/redemptive  work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJB — … I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have…

Spiritual Maturity Is Non-Optional and Impossible Without God

1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,”…

This Is Not All There Is

5 This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— 6 since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting…

The Ultimate Objective

23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
25 Brothers, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27 I put you under oath before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
28 The grace of our Lord…

Salvation in Three Tenses

The Bible presents salvation in three tenses. Radmacher states, “Spiritual salvation involves three tenses—past, present, and future. Doctrinally these are expressed as justification, sanctification, and glorification, but each one is part of the broad scope of salvation.”[1] In the past and future aspects, God alone does all the saving—justification in the past (Eph 2:8-9) and glorification in…

In my opinion, content creators putting their travel/barely lived abroad experiences into bite sized content (e.g Top 5 things to do before moving to, Where to stay in _) over the years is why we have bare people with little social skills flooding the streets of cities like Tokyo, Dubai, NYC and London who ask everyone the same questions instead of doing further research before moving there.

There’s now an oversaturation of people discovering what’s it really like living in that city because they relied on these videos (and the comments underneath) rather than asking locals of more than 20+ years in that city, reading books from authors living in these places and if financially able to, travelling there extensively to get a better outlook on life there?

me: i have [mental health issue] but i’m not gonna let it bring me down! In fact I’m gonna own it!

dickhead: you cant do that! that’s glorifying mental illness!

me: oh then um, i guess i’ll feel bad about it instead?

dickhead: no! that’s manipulative and defeatist and playing the victim!

me: then…what do you want me to do?

dickhead: i want you to just stop being mentally ill, or at least visibly mentally ill in any way in my presence, because it’s really annoying. i’m not ableist by the way, YOU are the one being ableist actually :)

This Day’s Thought-Thursday

When we in prayer seek only the glorification of the name of God, then we are in complete harmony with the spirit of prayer. Then our hearts are at rest both while we pray and after we have prayed. Then we can wait for the Lord.
Ole Hallesby

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall…

The Allure of War: A Paradox of the Unblooded Mind

Content 18+ There is a peculiar irony in the human mind’s ability to romanticize destruction. War, with its triumphant horns, glittering banners, and endless parade of heroes in history books, captivates those who have never had the misfortune of meeting it face-to-face. To the dreamer, war is a romantic spectacle—a grand clash of wills, a stage where heroes are forged, and where history strides…

The Bible tells us that the end of our sanctification will be our glorification, when all vestigial remnants of sin will be removed from our character. We will be pure. No more doubt. No more fear. No more error. No more pain. No more evil. All of these things will be gone for-ever. We will be like Christ, totally sanctified. We will see Him as He is in His unveiled splendor and glory. We will see something that will dwarf the vision that Isaiah had of the Holy One.

But no one in this earthly prison of the body has sufficient strength to press on with due eagerness, and weakness so weighs down the greater number that, with wavering and limping and even creeping along the ground, they move at a feeble rate. Let each one of us, then, proceed according to the measure of his puny capacity and set out upon the journey we have begun. No one shall set out so inauspiciously as not daily to make some headway, though it be slight. Therefore, let us not cease so to act that we may make some unceasing progress in the way of the Lord. And let us not despair at the slightness of our success; for even though attainment may not correspond to desire, when today outstrips yesterday the effort is not lost. Only let us look toward our mark with sincere simplicity and aspire to our goal; not fondly flattering ourselves, nor excusing our own evil deeds, but with continuous effort striving toward this end: that we may surpass ourselves in goodness until we attain to goodness itself. It is this, indeed, which through the whole course of life we seek and follow. But we shall attain it only when we have cast off the weakness of the body, and are received into full fellowship with him.”

The place we will occupy in the future will be similar to places we occupy now, but there will also be differences. The heavenly place will be a place of manifest glory. Our bodies will have continuity with our present bodies. There will also be discontinuity. Our new bodies are shrouded in mystery—we see through the glass darkly. Yet we receive hints about our glorified bodies by comparisons with Jesus, as well as by His words that we will be “like the angels” (Matt. 22:30).

I belong to a religion where honouring an elderly soul is counted as glorification of God. So stop limiting yourself to the idea that chanting the name of God on a rosary is spirituality. True religion first teaches about honouring the dignity of human soul. You can’t bypass the creation to win the Creator…
