Lorme’s Research of the Red Knight - 9XX AP
“I am assigned by the cohort to observe a particular corrupted. This undead dubbed as the Red Knight had displayed an unexpected behaviour that could tell us more about the undead themselves. Fortunately, I have close ties with the Ragni military that allow me access to resources that would be helpful in my research on the subject due to its activity around the area.
From the subject’s appearance alone suggests it is ancient in origin, dated in the early time of Corruption War or even predates it. According to the Ragni’s military records, the military previously had engaged with the subject before and even reported to slay it. However, after deeper research in the culture of Ragni from remaining old records and legends, it is likely that the subject may have existed long before the first sighting.
The subject’s behaviour before the incident that led it to catch the interest of the cohort are nearly identical to the ordinary undead. However the subject still displays an oddity, its aggression against fellow undead are concerningly high. The subject is frequently shown to engage with other undead and even those of warlords in its vicinity.
Furthermore, despite the subject potentially being capable of dominating lesser undead and has power to match the warlords. The subject was never seen leading its own warband which led to its lacking in warlord classification. To be noted however, it is capable of sending lesser undead into berserk by its mere presence and forming into a feral horde. Though these hordes tend to be short lived as the subject itself will also dispatch any horde member that came too close to its proximity.
As mentioned before, the subject did appear throughout the history of Wynn and even mentioned to be slain before. It is very likely that the subject is capable of reviving itself akin to another great undead such as the Bane of the Great Bridge. It believed that it was using this ability to continue to persist throughout history.
The subject is often sighted around Ragni kingdom’s territory but spotted in other parts of the province as well. Constant monitoring on the subject through airship would be required to avoid risk of provoking the subjects. Though distance would be required as the subject noted to have capacity to take down airships from long distance. The exact details of this ability is far too absurd to believe but I rather not take the risk.
The incident that led to its research and investigation will be written about in a later paper.”
