Sometimes no matter how hard you try, and even being a professional, you have to face mistakes and failure. The two works you see here are a first attempt at A5 and a second attempt at A4. Both were intended as a birthday present for my Father. Who did not like either of them.
In the first attempt, I made a serious anatomical error and “broke” my mother’s nose (the reference photo I took with my mobile to a framed photo, for that reason the little basic definition that I had to begin with), as I had made that anatomical error, I decided to make a second attempt. But this one was also unsuccessful, because it had not turned out as well as expected. It is correct, and it has a good execution, but it lacked the freshness of the first attempt and the weight of the emotional pressure shows too much in the final result.
That is why I decided to do well the portrait of my Mother that you have seen previously, with which my Father was more happy. So much so that today it is framed and hanging on a wall. There is no better destination for a work.
Inked with Staedler fineliner (numbers 1.2, 0.8, 0.6, 0.4, 0.2 and 0.05).
