“Hey, Kris, Susie was searching for- oh.” The SOUL entered the living room casually without noticing Kris sitting at the piano. When it noticed, it stopped on its tracks and stood frozen in the doorframe. Seems like Kris was preparing to play. “Ah, sorry, i didn’t know you were busy- I’ll tell Susie that-”
“You can stay.” Kris said as The SOUL tried to back away and leave the room. It made it jump from suprise.
“I can?”
“Yeah.” When Kris confirmed it, The SOUL stared at them with a stupid look, blinking rapidly. “You can.”
The SOUL wasn’t sure, hestiatly looking around the room to find something off to tell it that was a prank. But there was nothing. The SOUL swallowed nervously before it slowly approached the piano and stood next Kris. “….so-”
“Only listen.” Kris added before The SOUL could say anything annoying. “If i see you touch piano keys, i’ll kick you.”
“Okay, okay! Jeez…” The SOUL pouted while it walked around the piano to see where is a good view of Kris and piano.
“…my god, you can sit right next to me.” Kris groaned, watching the stupid parasite trying to make the situation complicated.
“WELL, then just say so!” The SOUL’s face become a few layers brighter from an embarassment. It walked to the piano bench and sat on it with its back to the piano, shoulder to shoulder with Kris.
“Pfffff, why you are sitting like that???”
“So i wouldn’t touch the piano keys!”
“Omg…you really hate seeing me play.”
“Wha- NO, WHAT?!” The SOUL was flabbergasted from such accusation, making Kris laugh loudly.
When the laughter died out, Kris started to play one of the familiar to both songs. The SOUL gave them a soft smile, watching their face litting up with happiness and joy of just playing the piano, their favourite instrument. It chuckled and then gently put its head on Kris’s shoulder.
The sound of piano echoed in the room only for two of them.
