Even if we get the Game of Thrones treatment, you gotta admit they had banger marketing. Everything was coded, which is why I’m so obsessed with this show. I love decoding and mysteries.
(I didnt plan on making a tutorial/whatever ts is but I thought leaving you all in the dark for tjis long was enough cruelty so… here we are!)
First, let’s see the text:

You’ll probably notice that they dont allign with most alphabet-borne ciphers(eg. caesar cipher–). the simple answer is because they’re not technically a cipher! they’re a sort of language/keyboard puzzle.
So, how do you solve them? Well, you need to have a keyboard in TWO languages for this one: English, and Korean. Here’s a helpful image from google:
Notice anything? the English alphabet lines up with literally all the Korean ones!
Now, this can go both ways, either Kor -> Eng(which will show up as English on the puzzle) or Eng -> Kor(which shows up as Korean characters).
Here’s an example with one of the phrases I ciphered: “rmfody”, if you line each Eng alphabet to a Korean one, you get “ㄱ ㅡ ㄹ ㅐ ㅇ ㅛ”, which, all put together makes “그래요”, which translated into english means “is that so”.
