Some ideas for Hirdrih’s story

I think I’ve said it before that, because Nortubel has the main cast showing up in different worlds, any future game based on a specific setting may reference/“retell” those moments where the Nortubel kids showed up there.
The main Bonka game is a special example since her appearances in Nortubel are relevant to her character.
And logically, there’d be stuff like how in a Greklovick game, you’d play as Yiegour fighting Zharkovil while the Nort kids are dealing with the switches of his energy shield for example.

But I thought of something similar for Hirdrih where, in some games, you’d see cameos of Leon and Otto depending on specific moments.
But it’s also something that probably needs to be well thought out.
Because of this, I think I’ll do Hirdrih’s story like this: The story of the game could involve Leon and Otto retelling stories of times when they were to different worlds.
All of those events still taking place after the events of the first game, but told through the 2 remembering some past events.
And the events also have no explicit date, so one can just imagine when did one event happened before or after the other.
With this, I guess there’d be some creative liberty based on how you can organize some events.

I honestly don’t feel like giving dates to certain events and just let people try to know that one event takes place after another.
After all, I’ve had this characters in my mind for years before using them in actual stories, so maybe that’s a side effect of them being in the oven for too long.

For future games (That I may or may never make), I do have vaguely planned ideas for the main stories but plans always change as usual.
So, who knows.

But I guess it depends if one ever makes a “timeline chart” of the existing storylines and stuff.

Also some previous posts (1, 2 and 3).

Genre switch ideas, worlds documentation and crossovers

Another set of notes (Kinda to myself).
I think previously, I said something about updating the MEGA gallery before Hirdrih being finished but forgot an important detail: I’d want to have PDF files dedicated to the worlds.
Which means that part of the update has to be after the game being finished, since I’d use screenshots of both Nortubel and Hirdrih to show off the worlds a bit.
But when it comes to the Brinkaedea game and ITS gallery/wiki I plan: It won’t use level screenshots for its world related sections, since I plan to include levels themselves based on those worlds anyway.
What could be neat for the Brink game wiki would be some new drawings based on those worlds.

(Also even with some new characters I want to design, I could have some that will have to wait until the main Bonka game to be designed).

But I guess with Hirdrih in mind: First I’ll add some images for its gallery pages (So far, there’s one page available).
Then maybe work on the MEGA gallery a bit (Both new characters and maybe some info for pre-existing ones).
This is because Hirdrih also gets some texts that are kinda based on the ones from the MEGA, so it’d be easier using the texts as reference if they already have info about the new characters.

Also, because the Brink game doc file already mentions some additional lore and new characters planned to draw, you can see that info as the potential new additions in the MEGA.
(In the Brink file, I’d mark some text with blue colors just to indicate which stuff is added).

Another idea I got with future games: Genre switch.
I plan to make a platformer with Bonka where she gets a fun movement and tools and then some FPS stuff based on Yiegour and others.
But I did thought of “genre switch” like what would Bonka be like in an FPS context and Yiegour in a 2d platformer.
Just to explore these characters mechanically.

Also, should the MEGA include crossovers?
Because I like to think crossovers don’t have to be a one way street:
One thing is a game “promoting” a guest character, another is discovering that game because it’s mentioned in an article about the character.
On my end so far, I have those 8 Nortubel cameos and I thought of cameos in Hirdrih too.
On the other end, I’m trying to remember the other games that referenced Nortubel and so far are:

  • Dreams of Joy Departed because of a boss based on Bonka
  • Dirk the Adventurer because Pebble is a cameo there
  • Ctesiphon because there’s some Nortubel ads you’ll find in a level
Maybe there’s others so feel free to tell me (And then there’s art people made of my characters, whether or not it even includes “demo day” art).

But another thing on crossovers is that I want to have some games finished, because ideally: You want the characters’ material to be “canonized” so you can justify doing stuff with them.
Because after I’m done with Bonka’s games, she’d obviously be the perfect character for some cameos.

Anyway, sort of repeating my plans for the MEGA update:

  • Some new pics for some folders
  • Zharkryazneniye as the name for the Zharks’ country
  • The PDF files for the world related texts, with screenshots of levels (Again, need Hirdrih to be finished for this)
  • Might actually REDO the text and PDF files of characters, just to keep up with new info and characters (Sounds like torture but at least it’s before the Brink game with the wiki, which can be allowed to have extra info)
  • A specific result of above could be the “design experimentions” images now being in dedicated folders instead of being treated as “other” (Example: Clarity V2 gets to be seen in the Greklovick folder)
  • Images of level objects from Hirdrih, like I did with Nortubel
  • An IRL place I wanted to visit for photos for Nortubel references
  • Height chart plans
  • Probably more music references in that text
  • PDF files for the “good/approved” and “bad/rejected” art styles
  • Maybe a text about planned games/genres
  • Maybe by the time the 1st Bonka game has a proper build, I could also have the “read this” text in the gallery say “BTW that game also has a wiki with some new stuff”.
  • Maybe an “easter egg” folder with some weird images

Understanding Essential Tree Care for Homeowners

When it comes to your health, you deserve more than rushed appointments and generic advice. You deserve someone who listens, explains, and treats you as a person—not just a chart. The same thoughtful care applies to the trees that shade and beautify your home. Healthy, well-maintained trees aren’t just aesthetic assets; they support local ecosystems, improve air quality, and increase property value. But how can homeowners ensure their trees thrive safely all year round?

Quick Answer:

The most important tree care tips for homeowners include regular pruning during the right seasons, consistent watering, pest and disease monitoring, soil health management, and ensuring safety by identifying hazardous limbs early. Year-round attention to these areas promotes healthy growth and minimizes risks to your property and family.

Understanding Essential Tree Care for Homeowners

“10 Essential Tree Care Tips for Homeowners: Ensuring Healthy Growth and Safety Year-Round”

refers to a set of proactive practices designed to maintain tree vitality, prevent common diseases, and reduce safety hazards through all seasons. These tips include proper watering techniques, timely pruning, pest management, and soil nutrition, all while prioritizing safety for both the tree and the people around it.

From my experience working alongside certified arborists, I’ve seen how small, consistent actions—like seasonal pruning and early pest detection—can transform a struggling tree into a thriving centerpiece. The key is understanding that tree care is not a one-time task but a year-round commitment.

Top 10 Tree Care Tips for Healthy Growth and Safety

1. Prune at the Right Time:

Late winter or early spring is generally the best time for pruning deciduous trees, as it minimizes sap loss and stress. For evergreens, late spring works well. Avoid heavy pruning during summer or fall.

2. Know When to Prune:

Look for dead, diseased, or crossing branches. If a limb poses a risk to structures or people, schedule prompt trimming. A good rule: if branches are closer than 10 feet to power lines, call a professional.

3. Water Deeply and Infrequently:

Trees prefer deep watering that reaches roots rather than frequent shallow watering. During dry spells, a slow soak once a week is ideal.

4. Mulch Properly:

Apply 2-4 inches of organic mulch around the base, keeping it a few inches away from the trunk to prevent rot and pests.

5. Monitor for Pests and Diseases:

Regularly inspect leaves, branches, and bark for signs like discoloration, holes, or sticky residue. Early treatment is more effective than late intervention. Use integrated pest management (IPM) methods for safety and efficiency.

6. Maintain Soil Health:

Test your soil every few years to ensure proper pH and nutrient levels. Amend with compost or fertilizers as recommended.

What Are the 5 Essential Tree Care Tips for Preventing Storm Damage in Urban Areas?

Finding the right “5 Essential Tree Care Tips for Preventing Storm Damage in Urban Areas” service shouldn’t feel like a gamble. Yet too often, it does. You read reviews, compare prices, and still wonder: will they actually deliver what they promise? When it comes to protecting your city trees from nature’s fury, knowing the right care tips can make all the difference between devastation and resilience.

Quick Answer:

The top 5 essential tree care tips for preventing storm damage in urban areas include regular health assessments, proper pruning techniques, soil and root care, selecting resilient species, and timely fertilization. Proper pruning reduces wind resistance and removes weak branches, while consistent health checks identify vulnerabilities early, helping trees withstand storms better.

What Are the 5 Essential Tree Care Tips for Preventing Storm Damage in Urban Areas?

At its core, “5 Essential Tree Care Tips for Preventing Storm Damage in Urban Areas” refers to the fundamental practices urban tree owners and caretakers should follow to minimize the risk of storm-related injuries to trees, property, and people. These practices are critical in cities where space is limited, and trees face extra stress from pollution, compacted soil, and restricted root zones.

1. Conduct Regular Tree Health Assessments:

Urban trees should be inspected at least twice a year to spot signs of decay, disease, or structural weaknesses. This proactive approach helps catch risks before storms hit.

2. Implement Proper Pruning Techniques:

Removing dead, diseased, or weak branches reduces wind resistance and prevents breakage during storms. Techniques like crown thinning and directional pruning are especially effective.

3. Prioritize Soil and Root Care:

Healthy soil supports strong root systems. Aeration, mulching, and avoiding soil compaction enhance root growth and tree stability.

4. Choose Storm-Resilient Tree Species:

Selecting native or well-adapted trees that can withstand local storm conditions improves overall landscape durability.

5. Fertilize Appropriately and Timely:

Balanced nutrients boost tree vigor, enabling better recovery and resistance to storm stress.

How Proper Tree Pruning and Health Assessments Reduce Storm Damage Risks

Pruning is more than just shaping a tree — it’s a critical storm damage mitigation strategy. According to a study published by the International Society of Arboriculture, trees that undergo regular pruning are 20-30% less likely to suffer limb breakage during severe weather (ISA, 2021). Pruning removes vulnerable branches that act like sails in strong winds, lowering the chance of branches snapping and causing damage.

Health assessments complement pruning by identifying hidden issues like internal decay or pest infestations that weaken structural integrity. As an arborist with over a decade of experience, I’ve seen how early detection of these problems can prevent catastrophic failures during storms. Inspections should focus on trunk stability, branch attachments, and leaf health, ideally before the storm season arrives.

The Role of Soil Health and Nutrient Management in Urban Tree Stability

Soil health is often overlooked but plays a pivotal role in how well urban trees hold up during storms. Compacted or nutrient-poor soil restricts root growth, reducing anchorage and water uptake. Research from the Urban Forestry & Urban Greening Journal found that trees growing in healthy, aerated soils are 35% more stable under high wind conditions (UFUG, 2022).

Finding the right “10 Essential Tips for Coordinating Sustainable Events: How to Make Your Next Gathering Eco-Friendly” service shouldn’t feel like a gamble. Yet too often, it does. You read reviews, compare prices, and still wonder: will they actually deliver what they promise?

Coordinating sustainable events means more than just checking a box—it’s about intentionally designing gatherings that minimize environmental impact while maximizing social and economic benefits. If you’re aiming to reduce waste, lower your event’s carbon footprint, and create a memorable experience that respects our planet, you’re in the right place.

Quick Answer Box

To coordinate a sustainable event, focus on reducing waste, choosing eco-friendly venues and vendors, utilizing digital tools, and promoting local sourcing. Key strategies include minimizing single-use items, implementing recycling and compost programs, and offsetting carbon emissions. These steps ensure your event is both enjoyable and environmentally responsible.

What Does It Mean to Coordinate a Sustainable Event?

At its core, coordinating a sustainable event means planning and executing a gathering in ways that reduce environmental harm, support social equity, and encourage economic responsibility. This includes everything from venue selection and catering choices to waste management and attendee transportation.

According to the Global Reporting Initiative, sustainable event practices can reduce waste by up to 50%, dramatically shrinking the overall environmental footprint.

This impact is achieved by careful planning and using industry-specific terms such as “carbon footprint,” “zero waste,” and “life cycle assessment” to measure and mitigate environmental effects.

10 Essential Tips for Coordinating Sustainable Events

Choose a Green Venue:

Opt for locations with sustainability certifications (like LEED) that use energy-efficient systems and have waste reduction programs.

Minimize Single-Use Items:

Replace disposable cups, plates, and cutlery with reusable or compostable alternatives.

Go Digital:

What Is an Emergency Fund and Why Is It Important?

Finding the right “How to Build an Emergency Fund: A Step-by-Step Guide for Financial Security” service shouldn’t feel like a gamble. Yet too often, it does. You read reviews, compare prices, and still wonder: will they actually deliver what they promise? When it comes to your financial safety net, clarity and trust are everything.

Quick Answer:

An emergency fund is a dedicated savings buffer designed to cover unexpected expenses like medical emergencies, job loss, or urgent home repairs. Ideally, this fund should hold 3 to 6 months’ worth of essential living expenses. Building it step-by-step involves setting realistic goals, automating savings, and cutting non-essential spending to gradually grow your financial cushion.

What Is an Emergency Fund and Why Is It Important?

An emergency fund is a reserved amount of money set aside specifically for unforeseen financial emergencies. Unlike regular savings, its sole purpose is to provide immediate access to cash in times of crisis, preventing reliance on high-interest debt like credit cards or payday loans.

Why is it crucial? According to a 2023 report by the Federal Reserve, nearly 40% of Americans wouldn’t be able to cover a $400 emergency with cash or its equivalent. This highlights how many people are vulnerable to financial shocks, making an emergency fund a foundational pillar of financial security.

From my own observations working with clients, those who maintain a robust emergency fund experience less stress and more confidence during unexpected life events. It’s not just about money; it’s about peace of mind.

How Much Money Should You Save in an Emergency Fund?

The general rule of thumb is to save between three to six months’ worth of essential living expenses — including rent or mortgage, utilities, food, transportation, and healthcare. The exact amount depends on your personal situation, job stability, and income sources.

For freelancers or those with irregular income, aiming for six months or more is often safer. Conversely, if you have multiple streams of income or strong job security, three months might suffice.

Remember, the fund should cover

essential

expenses only, so it’s key to calculate what you really need to survive, not what you want to spend.

Step-by-Step Strategies to Build Your Emergency Fund

Building an emergency fund can feel daunting, but breaking it down into manageable steps helps maintain momentum and motivation.

1. Set a Clear Goal:

Calculate your monthly essential expenses and multiply by your target months (3-6). This gives you a specific savings target.

2. Open a Separate Savings Account:

Keep your emergency fund separate from your checking to avoid accidental spending and to earn some interest.

3. Automate Savings:
