Conviction
The line gets thicker as we move from one level of commitment to another. We can see it in the contingencies we attach to the things we say we care about. Let’s run in the morning… unless it rains. Let’s take on that big project… as long as it doesn’t interfere with the weekend. I will lead with my core values… until they get in the way of my career progression. The examples may change, but the pattern remains the same. When we build easy exits into our commitments, we reveal something important: we may not actually have the conviction to do what we said we would. Conviction manifests differently. It runs when it rains. It stays the course when things get inconvenient. It holds steady when values are tested. It is the difference between negotiating with ourselves and standing firm. And that line matters. Because if we want to live a purpose-driven life, one that reflects who we truly are and what we believe, then conviction becomes essential. It is the force that keeps us aligned when circumstances shift and excuses surface. Weather changes. Invitations come and go. Challenges arise. Conviction remains. And when we carry it with us, the path forward becomes clearer, stronger, and more intentional. Yes, indeed.
Loving life when I have conviction
