The Angry Daughter You Created
When you think of a newborn you think
Innocent
Free from responsibilities
Nothing to worry about
And to that I say congratulations for the baby born that way.
But everyday there are daughters born.
Daughters who are not supposed to worry about a single thing who are instead born with a burden.
The burden being the curse all first American born daughters are born with
We need to be nice and kind, show no attitude and always say yes respectfully
we need to watch what we wear, say and do.
We need to translate everything from contracts, to report cards, to birthday cards
We need to worry about the financial state of the family and find ways to provide help in the family. Even if it’s not financially like taking care of siblings while parents are working, giving up on education, or even actually going to work with your parents
We need to break all the generational trauma and stop it before it continues because our parents never wanted to, or never knew how to stop it before we were born.
We need to take care of everyone no matter how much older or younger they are.
Basically everyone and everything comes first before our own being.
But what happens to us you may ask.
We become harden, “I can do everything myself” people pleasers with an identity crisis
Are we being too Americanized or have we not simulated well enough because we were brought up by multiple cultures?
Are we doing the right thing in this life time for our age?
Are we a terrible person for going no contact.
But most importantly we are burdened by doing things that make us happy because we were never taught to be happy for ourselves nor how to make ourselves happy.
The curse of the first American born daughter is a lifelong tragedy. But there is hope.
Luckily we are in a time where society is being more open to these struggles.
Not everyone wants to listen to our struggles but there are people.
There are people out there who can quiet our overthinking brains like 777 hz can. There are people who will want to take care of us and not ask for anything in return.
There will be a point we say screw it to the formalities of being a first born American daughter and we will live to fulfill our dreams, passions, wants and needs.
Eventually We will find solace
Eventually We will find comfort
Eventually we will find happiness
