I
I don’t ask closeness to be saved from edge,
nor call intensity by any name;
I’ve learned how heat disguises itself as flame,
how need pretends it’s depth when pressed to edge.
So if I speak of fusion, it’s not edge
it’s staying without begging you to stay,
standing where silence doesn’t drift away,
two presences aligned inside one room,
no rescue staged, no roles we must consume,
just ground where nothing has to overplay.

Not everyone will read this past the sound.
Most will call distance what they cannot hold.
But if you’ve learned to stand inside the cold
without turning another into ground,
then you might know the space that I’ve found:
where being seen is quiet, not a plea;
where staying doesn’t threaten symmetry;
where fusion isn’t loss but mutual sight.
