Docket 214: The walk the dog letter
As every law nerds knows this as the walk the dog letter. Attorney Bloodworth
This is a wise and scriptural essay on suffering in the lives of Christians and how Jesus never promised a life free from suffering but to actually expect it and learn to rejoice in it. From The Gospel…
“Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said…”Job 38:1, ESV
Usually, when I think of God speaking out of the whirlwind, I think of it as a literal display of His power. This makes sense when juxtaposed beside the deluge of questions He bids Job answer; every one is a reminder of His sovereignty and awesome might. But I recently came across a verse in Proverbs that made me consider…

An important person that I will talk about that has psychological mind issues.
Although we will never fully understand all that God does or allows in this life, it is vital for our faith that we agree when Scripture tells us that God works all things for good for those who know and trust Him. “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3)
Have you seen a construction worker or a window washer working on a scaffold? It provides footing for them to carry out their task. It is a platform providing temporary footing.
Some of us build our sense of self on such scaffolding – our job position, our physical health, our family roles, or even our ministry…

The testing of the soul with various troubles occurs with the permission of God, so that the souls who truly love the Lord may be revealed to everyone.
It is a distinctive sign to pass through the narrow door of trials and tribulations.
The patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs of all times have, through these, become well-pleasing to God.
-Saint Macarius the Egyptian, Seven Other Homilies
Even as the storms of life in an often-troubled world pound upon us, we can cultivate a growing and abiding sense of joy and inner peace because of our hope in Christ. - Patrick Kearon

Gospel for December 28, 2025.
Mt 2:13-15, 19-23
When the magi had departed, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said,
“Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt,
and stay there until I tell you.
Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.”
Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night
and departed for Egypt.
He stayed there until the death of Herod,
that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled,
Out of Egypt I called my son.
When Herod had died, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream
to Joseph in Egypt and said,
“Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel,
for those who sought the child’s life are dead.”
He rose, took the child and his mother,
and went to the land of Israel.
But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea
in place of his father Herod,
he was afraid to go back there.
And because he had been warned in a dream,
he departed for the region of Galilee.
He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth,
so that what had been spoken through the prophets
might be fulfilled,
He shall be called a Nazorean.
The priest at church today said the holy family experienced hard times just as the rest of us do so that we can learn to trust in God’s providence and have faith
Lord, please help us grow closer to you in our trials
