In a press release sent to journalists on Thursday, the public prosecutors’ offices in Rome and Naples, which are investigating the spyware scandal in the country, said that a technical report concluded that the phones of journalist Francesco…

Who Created Paragon & Graphite? The Architects Behind the System

This video reveals the creators of Graphite and Paragon, exploring how their systems aggregate personal data and impact cybersecurity and digital rights.

Bestie, this questions was SO HARD for me to answer since none of my characters are really in romantic relationships, at least not at the start of the series, lol. Most of these are spoilers, but since I have talked about them in our server I will elaborate under the cut XD

So because I don’t have a lot of romance, I sort of interpreted this question as like the most difficult goodbye in the character’s lives. I am not counting like death or loss. Just characters that ended or fractured relationships after something went wrong XD

Let’s start with Shaun! Lots of build up for his. The hardest part is realizing that his best friend of 15 years has always been an asshole, he just didn’t realize it. I always compare Shaun to the frog boiling in water analogy. He was dealing with Darren’s shit for so long that he didn’t really notice how bad it was getting. He’s just lucky that he had friends to tell him to get the fuck out before he was boiled to death :) having to finally cut the cord and say goodbye is like cutting off a limb that can’t be saved for him. It hurts like hell, but it had to be done.

Then we have Kay! Another slow build up to a gut punch. Similar to Shaun, she realizes slowly that her mom has Always had these traits. Being judgy about paragon and their powers and resistant to learn new things or try to understand them. The breaking point comes when she tries to show her mom that she can control her element, but she has to use it to do that, and her mom can’t handle it. It’s the final straw, the last resort, the hail mary that doesn’t work. Finally accepting that her mom is a lost cause is one of the hardest things that Kay has to do.

Then we have a couple little heart breaks :) I haven’t developed it that much, but I imagine that Nate had a pretty serious relationship in college that was really hard to end, although I imagine that he was the one doing the heartbreaking, deciding that it would be better for both him and his partner.

Reese probably also broke someones heart in and around high school when he started to realize that dating just wasn’t for him.

Thinking about it now, Matt probably had at least two relationships that he thought were going to last, but didn’t. The longest probably being a little over a year. When he commits, he commits with his whole heart, so that was probably really hard for him.

Paragon | Radford WritesParagon

Paragon  | Radford Writes

Do I think Paragon Characters are usually not as interesting as other characters? Yes. But, honestly, I think it’s a bit of a cop out to claim that a paragon can’t be as interesting or complicated as other characters or that stories built around them will always be less engaging. It’s perfectly fine to have a preference. I tend to gravitate more towards moral ambiguity and antiheroes myself. But over the years I’ve learned to appreciate what a paragon can bring to the table and I fully expect to see a resurgence of them in the future given the current oversaturation of gritty antiheroes in storytelling.

Here’s a look at Thosk’s younger step-sister, Wynnie Maddock. She appears quite a bit in Paragon. Her first appearance will be in Chapter 2 with Thosk. It was fun making up a younger sister for Thosk, who isn’t afraid to speak her mind to him.

I never loved the stuff about Paragon being unstable due to being made from mixed plank, it kinda smacks of “multiple personalities” (pop culture ableist edition) tosh to me. The idea of his trauma being the major contributor to his instability was always much more compelling to me. Just read the bit in ch. 11 where Althea remembers the Paragon Lore and it’s SO upsetting/disturbing/sad/good. Mother! Mother, I’m home!!!

Alas, I cannot draw, so I can’t draw either Octa or Warnado, so you will have to imagine them. But what I can do is do profiles for them, for anyone interesting in collecting all of Cyclonus’s fanon sparklings.

Octa Magna

Carrier: Ultra Magnus

Contributors: Cyclonus, Scourge, Paragon

Alt-mode: Octopus

Unlike the other of Cyclonus’s kids, Octa is super-naturally calm. She’s also not terribly interested in combat, and prefers to tinker with things, hence her career choice as an engineer/mechanic. Which could make someone think she’s gentle and so on, but she can be plenty stabby. There just won’t be any yelling involved and it will be premeditated. Fortunately for Cybertron, Octa considers murder to be reserved for extreme situations, like the return of Galvatron.

Octa is a fan of Earth music, particularly hard rock and classic heavy metal.

Size-wise she takes after Ultra Magnus, so she’s big and bulky. She has a similar helmet shape, but her antenna are sharp. She has a visor like Paragon. And also, ended up pretty bright: dark blue, red, white and purple.

Warnado

Carrier: Cyclonus

Contributor: Ultra Magnus

Alt-mode: Heavy duty military space shuttle

Warnado takes in personality from Cyclonus, which means he’s quite emotional and loud. Thanks to being raised on a peaceful Cybertron the range of emotions he expresses is not limited to angry though. Despite his alt-mode his choice of profession is diplomat.

Also Ultra Magnus sized with heavy armour. Gets Cyclonus’s horned helmet. Dark blue with purple optics.

The Nighthaunter

Carrier: Cyclonus

Contributor: Scourge

Alt-mode: Stealth jet

The Nighthaunter is the edge-lord of the lot. Very very dramatic. Writes dark dramatic poetry, and throws themself on fainting couches while sighing byronically about lack of inspiration. Secretly loves tiny fluffy things.

The Nighthaunter loves opera. All the opera.

Scourge-sized. Black with purple accents. Has claws and sharp teeth.

TF Fantasy AU: Paragon

For a moment, you think it’s really going to be that easy. That you and Whirl distracting this goblin so that Cyclonus can knock him out will be enough. But things are never this easy. You see the gem on the goblin’s throat flare, and Cyclonus’s strike never connects. There’s a strange, hollow thud as the pommel of his sword hits something that is not the goblin’s head.

The goblin sighs.

“Well, that is going to be significantly less interesting,” he says, and makes a small gesture with his hand. The sword-limbs tear themselves off the deactivated automata and rise into the air. They zoom towards you - and suddenly you have to defend yourself against a floating sword.

Cyclonus, you notice, is facing three.

You don’t have time to consider why the number is different - you have to focus on defending yourself. The sword is much more nimble on its own - it floats around you, forcing you to turn and twist to catch its strikes with your shield. You will get worn out eventually, and then the sword will catch an opening. A cut here, a cut there - each will make you slower and slower.

You will heal from them, but if you’re guessing right, that won’t matter. Because it will happen to each of you: and not all of you have sworn an Oath. Scourge and his siblings, and Whirl will just bleed out. And the goblin will make an escape.

Or perhaps not. Because you have an idea. Metal is a gift of the earth. Primus is the Earth. Therefore, Primus has power over metal. You mouth a prayer, as you parry and deflect blows. Once the final syllable leaves your lips, the sword turns rust-red. And when it hits your shield, it crumbles.

You have only a few seconds to feel satisfied. A moment later you feel a strange sharp pain - like being burned and stabbed with a million needles at the same time. A magic bolt.

You hiss in pain.

Magic bolts are one of the few spells that can slow a paladin down. Not forever, but for significantly longer than most other spells. It’s something to do with them being pure magic and not elemental or physical. And they’re not visible, which means you can’t avoid them.

You notice Cyclonus, Grudge and Gridlock stumble. Highfire yelps and falls to one knee. Provoke hisses. Scourge stands frozen, his eyes wide and terrified. He’s going to bolt - and so is his brother. His sisters have moved closer to Cyberwarp, the young witch now on her knees too.

The goblin smirks. For a brief moment. Then his eyes widen in surprise. Magnus bears upon him, his expression set in grim determination. He brings down his hammer down on him, in a blow that should smash the goblin.

The gem on the goblin’s throat flares once more - and this time you see the magic catch the blow. A flare of magic appears inches away from the goblin’s head, stopping the hammer.

The goblin gestures again - but it seems to have no effect on Magnus. He strikes with his hammer again and again. Cracks start to form on the magic gem.

Cyclonus bolts towards the goblin and joins Magnus. The goblin keeps repeating his gesture, and you notice Cyclonus stumble a few times. But he is no longer paying attention to you - and of you.

You start another prayer. Gems - even enchanted ones - are of earth. They don’t rust, but maybe…

Highfire raises her staff, and there are more impacts on the magic shield surrounding the goblin. Cyberwarp pushes herself in front of her sisters and raises her hands. She makes it as if she were grabbing something. Vines sprout from the ground, and wrap themselves slowly around the goblin’s legs.

And then, finally, the gem breaks.

“No!” the goblin cries. “Don’t kill me! Don’t kill me!”

Magnus’s hammer smashes at his feet, as Magnus falls to his knee. Cyclonus moves towards him - and the goblin raises his hand. A small ball of fire forms in front of it - and dies seconds later, as an arrow pierces his eye.

Scourge lowers his bow.

“That was a fireball he was going to cast, right?” he asks.
