I am not against ego. In fact, I’m the type of person who believes ego is important. You shouldn’t destroy or throw away your ego most of the time.
But if you have someone dear to you or someone who truly cares for you, trust me—there is nothing wrong with putting your ego aside for them.
You also have to be stubborn sometimes because there will be moments when people convince you that you are wrong. Later, when they do the exact same thing they once said was wrong, you might regret not standing up for yourself. It can really mess with your head, making you wonder why you didn’t speak up. I’ve been there.
Even with your loved ones, when there is an argument, don’t completely give up on your thoughts or point of view. You may be right or wrong, but what matters is respecting and protecting your sense of self. But make sure you do caring housework if your dear ones can’t. There is nothing wrong with breaking your ego for that.
