i think there’s something kinda beautiful about returning back to the place that held me so tenderly 10 years ago.
i’m 14. feelings of melancholy, angst, loneliness.. an outcast.. utilizing the internet (and this space in particular) to express the inner workings of my mind..
i’m 24. the melancholy, angsty, and loneliness has returned. it likes to come and go, ebb and flow.. with the seasons i suppose. outcast.. and somehow, i feel comforted by the fact that i’m coming back to my roots.
i’ve grown so much, and yet, i’ve returned right where i began.. 🌰🌱

Why is Gen Z Losing the Journalism War? 🧐📉
When asked about everyone trying to become a “journalist” on social media, Mr. Chandresh Narayanan, a renowned sports journalist & broadcaster, shared a reality check - building echo chambers, beating your own drum, and creating fan clubs to pull others down isn’t journalism. It’s noise. 📢
Social media can amplify you, but it can also trap you into believing it’s the real world. It’s not. Trends fade. Algorithms change. 📲🔄 But reality doesn’t.
He also mentioned that you may have all the information, but without depth and understanding, you’ll miss the real message behind it. Hence, true growth happens outside the small screen - in discipline, skill-building, and curiosity. 🧠📚✨
In the full episode, you’ll also explore AI in sports media, regional commentary, brand building, career transitions, and why success is a marathon. 🏃♂️🏁

I cannot recall the particular instance in which I conjured the idea for this wording. I do know I was editing the appearance of my YouTube channel. I also recall what I wanted to articulate in a few, catchy words that would, eventually, hopefully, catch on as a sort of slogan. Community, empathy, and most important of all, interconnectedness. These I do believe are some of the most, if not THE MOST, important factors in sustaining a society. I remember thinking of flag designs. In a sketchbook of mine, I have scribbled out a few meaningful designs for a flag, one that represents these seemingly, forgotten and mocked principals of humanity. The flags, their symbols and their color choices, are meant to represent the undeniable, and crucial connection all human beings have to one another, for being both social creatures–dependent in some way or another to each other, and for being inhabitants of this water planet (this is to acknowledge the often brushed off importance of our mother nature). For the blood—the significator of our humanity on both a physiological and spiritual level, and for the water—the water which by 70% makes up our composition and the water which our countries float upon, connecting us in a most literal sense, and too a significator of our humanity for our collective dependence on the natural resource. The comma just after ‘water’ in our slogan is very intentional, the sentence is not simply 'for the blood and for the water we share’ as if to only emphasize the commonality we share in the literal sense of having both blood and water in common. No—pause just after you say water… For the Blood and for the Water…We Share. This sentence—although the first without it’s comma is just as important—this sentence is to say, for the commonality of our humanity, we MUST share. In acknowledgement of our similar state of being human, I share with you—my time, resources, and empathy, just as I do my humanity, even without my realizing. Because we are both human and inhabitants of this earth, I will share with you, my friend. For the blood and for the Water, We Share.

“Hopefully, yes.”
“We need to do more to stay relevant for young people joining our activities.”
“We belong to GEN Z and GEN Alpha and know what they need.”
One question and three possible answers. What would be your answers as youth workers, leaders? Can you take a moment and reflect if and how you are following the trends and changes all around?
We took the moment, and in January we met with a group of youth workers and leaders in Czechia to reflect on the needs and interests of GEN Z and GEN Alpha, with the simple goals – to explore if our youth work methods are still relevant or outdated, to discuss the similarities or differences that the representatives of these generations share, as well as to discuss environmental issues that seem to be important for young people belonging to GEN Z.
Moreover, we also visited the school GEEK in Brno and had the opportunity to question our approach towards education and why it is triggering for us when school does not look like it did back in our childhood.
Furthermore, we also took a look at the methods and tools that we use and reflected on things that have changed. Do we use inclusive language? Are we using interactive methods? What are the things that are really outdated?
We did not have clear answers to all the questions that we asked; nevertheless, we got inspiration and a so much-needed moment for reflection.
The activity was realized within the project ‘Youth TOOLS Residencies‘, 2025-1-CZ01-KA153-YOU-000297555 focused on exploring the needs of GEN Z and GEN Alpha and developing the competencies of youth workers to address the needs of young people representing these generations.
The project is realized with the support of the Erasmus + Programme and brings together youth workers from Czechia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, France and North Macedonia.

Vrijdag 13 februari 2026: The SPRINT Toolbox Webinar
In this webinar, we will talk you through…

I have loved reading for as long as I can remember.
When I was a kid, my parents made a quiet but life shaping decision. We did not have television. Instead, we each had library cards. Every week I would ride my bike to the town library, load my backpack with books, and ride home knowing exactly how the rest of my afternoons were going to unfold. I would sprawl out on the floor or the couch and…
A fun little post from your blog admin as a thank you for sticking by with my long ass hiatus.
- Reheated her nachos (to do something similarly to someone else, not plagiarism exactly but not complementary, ex: [new upcoming singer] is really just reheating Lady Gaga’s nachos”)
- Slay (Queer POC term, when someone looks or does something great or bold, etc, “yessss the dress is serving, slay”)
- “I fear” (super dramatic way to say something like “I can’t make it to dinner”; ex: “cannot attend supper I fear”)
- Rizz (dont use this I’m begging you)
- IJBOL (I just burst out laughing)
- CTFU (cracking the fuck up)
- LMAO / LOL (mostly used to denote humor nowadays, less literal)
- Tho (though)
- Serving Cunt (Queer POC term, I honestly don’t know how to define this in a meaningful way because it’s very vibes-based)
- Low-key (when you’re kinda gossiping and want the person you’re talking to to keep it on the DL) (ex: “She low-key annoys me, not gonna lie)
- NGL (not gonna lie)
- We’re so back (can be sarcastic or not; ex you just got a good grade on something after a few bad ones; “got 100 on my test we’re so back” or “lady Gaga new album we’re so back”
- It’s so over (self explanatory one would hope, ex: “fuck, Trump won the election it’s so over”)
- Incredible amazing showstopping never the same (lady Gaga quote)
- They ask you how you are and you just have to say that you’re fine but you’re not really fine (Katy Perry quote, kinda out of date?)
- “___ moment” (Also vibes based, for example if someone fails terribly at something, you could say they had an “L moment.”)
- Side quests (when you’re doing something really random that feels like it’s a side quest in a video game)
- I’m gonna kill myself (this is a joke for when you have minor inconveniences; I don’t like this one, personally, but I know a lot of people who say it)
- He’s so (noun) (ex: “omg she’s so eyes” when a baby animal has huge eyes)
- Chonky (a sweeter way of calling someone / something a bit big / fat but still cute or fluffy, often used with animals like cats or dogs)
- The Youths TM (imitating old people talking abt us or talking abt people barely younger than us like Gen alpha. Ex: “Oh my GOD the YOUTHS of today and their SLANG)
- Girlie Pop (can be a descriptor for when someone really looks like a magical girl—“she’s so girlie pop”—but is more often used to refer to someone in a funny way like “girlie pop what is that outfit??”)
- ??? / !!! (Hopefully self explanatory but stronger than just one and somewhat summarizes facial expressions without an emoji)
- FELT (when someone’s responding to an anecdote that they relate to; instead of saying “oh me too” you say “FELT” with your whole chest)
- With your full chest (when someone really goes all in on something especially when they’re wrong; ex: “so she really said this shit with her full chest huh??”
- Plebs (short for “plebeians”, somewhat derogatory way of saying “normal people”, often includes the speaker; ex: “guess she’s too cool to associate with us plebs.”)
- YUM (in response to something pretty and not edible, like a nice painting, said sarcastically)
- Let’s go (kind of like saying “hell yeah”, ex: “Let’s go I just scored concert tickets)
- Whipped (usually used in a romantic context when someone loves someone else and would do anything for them, ex: “he’s so whipped for his boyfriend”)
- No Cap (no lie)
- Tea (the gossip)
- Drip (cool style, good aesthetic, ex: “damn she’s got drip”)
- Bet (gotcha, awesome, different depending on context or emphasis. Ex: “I got the job!” “BET” vs “meet u at 3?” “Bet.” )
- BFFR (be fucking for real)
- Bop (song that may not be the best written but is hella catchy)
- Caught in 4K (caught doing something wrong or embarrassing or dishonest on camera / in front of witnesses)
- Cook (can mean to do something well, ex: “she really cooked” or to be seriously fucked, ex: “guys I’m so cooked”)
- Chat (talking to an audience, can be friends or to oneself, kind of a general you, originated on Twitch)
- Face-card (beautiful face, compared to a credit card, ex: “face card never declines”)
- Fit check (showing off an outfit)
- Hits Different (something that takes on a new light after some information, or something that emotionally hits you differently from similar things, ex: “I liked her other albums but this one hits different”)
- IFKYK (if you know you know, for inside jokes)
- Lore (literally abt backstories but used for people too, ex: “Our teacher just casually drops lore about the craziest things”)
- Mid (literally “average”)
- Moots (mutual followers on social media; see also oomf or “one of my followers”
- Period / Periodt (emphasis on what came before, also taken from AAVE, ex: “I’m done, period.”)
- Roman Empire (a random topic or event or moment that takes up a ridiculous amount of brain space, ex: “this exact moment in the song’s bridge is my Roman Empire”)
- Salty (someone who’s bitter at something / someone; ex: “Anna’s still salty at her ex boyfriend”)
- Sus (short for suspicious, ex: “he’s only texting when his girlfriend’s away? Sus.”
- Skill issue (used for things that are not about skills, ex: “I don’t like heels” “skill issue, they rock”)
- Touch grass (go outside and get off the internet, it’s rotted your brain)
- Chile (“child” said with an over the top blaccent, used to add emphasis, ex: “chile you better get your ass in there and have breakfast”. Would recommend against using this unless you’re actually African-American.)
- IG (I guess)
