Weapons (2025) was pretty good, weak 8/10. The violence was really funny throughout, felt like a campy Japanese horror from the 2000s at a few points. I liked that it was a (spoiler) that was doing the thing, that was pretty cool. Also liked thinking about (vague spoiler) the soup logistics.

As She Climbed Across the Table: good philosophy fiction with a whole bunch of silly jokes that aren’t told as jokes, two very pathetic professors, layers and layers of symbols, and a mysterious void. Would recommend!

you PROBABLY think smoking makes you look a bit cool, MAKE IT COOLER. find some atmospheric spots. you already use it as a soothing ritual, maximize the soothing, start control your addiction not another way around.

even if it’s a job shift brake, concert pause, after run cig, start a day cig. do not make a rush out of it. observe your surroundings, count pedestrians, think about your life goals and praise the moment. it’s just a cig, but you can enjoy it, not consume

so last week i deactivated my facebook account for a week. (i know, i know … facebook. ugh. but my family is on there and i have a group i enjoy modding)

within 2 or 3 days i had already decided i would not be returning to facebook full time

my current plan (which is subject to change):

• post a weekly update on friday or saturday (likely many posts)
• queue any posts for the group i mod saturday or sunday
• log out of facebook until the next week
• messenger will remain active during the week as it is the primary way i communicate with my family. this also means i will have access to my fellow mod team and i can jump on in a pinch if the situation warrants it (very rare)

so far i have deleted my tiktok and my instagram. after scaling down facebook, my next project is figuring out a better way to limit youtube videos

anyone have suggestions? i have a tendency to end up on my comfort creators for hours which is fine once in awhile but very bad for my adhd time blindness on a regular basis. turning off autoloop does not work

Nothing is allowed to develop these days, it’s crazy. My Lady Jane was so popular and it still got canceled after 1 season bc it “didn’t do well enough,” which is crazy bc it had been like. a week since it came out.

And yeah it definitely reads like a pwp fanfic of a couple of irl players that everyone has been shipping, which is enjoyable in down time but not something worthy of awards, as you said.

And ykw I think the showmakers and the show itself gets away with being misogynistic because it’s gay and gay men often get a pass to be misogynistic simply because they’re gay. The worst thing is that I just know that if Rose or Svetlana had had a valid reaction to being used by Shane and Ilya (being angry or sad) the raging misogynists in this fandom would’ve MURDERED them.
