Back on my statistics bullshit:

Those graphs that color-code episodes based on ratings piss me off because they have set ranges for every show, when it’s more valuable to see episodes compared to others (e.g. a 7.6 could be trash for one show and great for another; an 8.5 could be expected in one show and the best episode in the series for another)

So, I took matters into my own hands

I generally wait to put in episode ratings (from IMDb, my one true love) to let some of the volatility settle, but I think the past few episodes are worth including since they show a marked improvement over the rest of the season (so far, at least). Episodes that have been out for less than a month are bolded in “episode ratings” figure.

I’m glad you found it interesting. And happy to do this addition to it.

Family’s with generations that overlap

Caldwell - Garrett was 5 months old when Isaiah was born
Garrett was 2 years and 11 months old when Moriah was born
Addison was 1 year and 6 months old when Moriah was born
Brooklyn was almost 3 months old when Moriah was born
Duggar - Mackynzie was 2 months old when Josie was born

Family’s without overlaping generations

Bates - Jeb was 1 year and 9 months old when Bradley was born
Wissmann - Charissa was 3 years and 5 months old when Joanna was born
Morton - Paul was 3 years and 5 months old when Brian was born
Rodrigues - Janessa was 3 years and 6 months old when Nehemiah was born
Keller - David was 4 years and 5 months old when Enoch was born
Maxwell - Mary was 8 years and 7 months old when Susanna was born
Keilen - Amber was about 9 years old when Kensington was born
Bontrager - Becca was 10 years and 10 months old when Jubilee was born
Paine - Johny was 12 years and 9 months old when Charles was born
Waller - Matthew was 12 years and 10 months old when Serena was born

Year 4 of “Ever After High Says What?” in review

Today marks the last day of the third year this blog’s been active! Let’s review this blog’s stats before we go:

  • The total number of words spoken in Year 4 was 700. The most common word spoken was “you”, which appeared 34 times.
  • The character with the most lines (lines being all words, including beats between words, sound effects, & emoticons) was Raven Queen, who had a total of 84 lines. The character with the fewest lines (excluding non-speaking appearances) was a five-way tie between Nina Thumbell and four nameless background characters, who only had 2.
  • The character with the most appearances in Year 4 (based on how many comics they were tagged in) was Raven Queen, who appeared in 7 comics out of 24 total. All of them were speaking appearances.
  • The comic with the most lines was Comic 79 with 69 lines. Comic 88 and Comic 95 were tied for the comics with the fewest lines with 16 lines. Comic 88 was also the only comic with only one character.
  • The top 5 comics of Year 4 by notes ATOW were Comic 88 with 131 notes, Comic 81 with 73 notes, Comic 85 with 57 notes, Comic 77 with 52 notes, and Comic 80 with 44 notes.
  • The bottom 5 comics of Year 4 by notes ATOW were Comic 86 with 7 notes, a three-way tie between Comic 74, Comic 76, and Comic 95 with 13 notes each, Comic 73 with 16 notes, Comic 75 with 17 notes, and a tie between Comic 83 and Comic 87 with 19 notes each.
  • The comic with the greatest absolute increase in notes since last year was Comic 56 with 13 new notes since last year’s tally. The comic with the greatest per capita increase in notes since last year was Comic 72, whose note count increased by 73.33% from the previous tally to 26 notes ATOW. This is currently the highest per capita increase in notes in the blog’s history.
  • Comic 11 was the first comic to show a decrease in notes, losing two notes from last year’s tally. How this happened is unknown. It still remains the most-liked comic with 1098 notes, and it remains the only comic with a four-digit number of notes.
  • The fandoms most often referenced were unknown sources with 5 comics.
  • Comic length has steadily declined overall, as has overall traffic based on number of notes given. I don’t know if this reflects the overall state of the fandom, but I have noticed a slight decline in new content in 2025 compared to 2024.

Tomorrow we start Year 5, which will feature the blog’s 100th comic in April!

…someone explain how 15% is a passing grade in gcse stats

24/160 = a 4 !?!??!

The scores on both sections are added together but I got one paper back and got 25 points out of 80 and that’s a pass for the whole subject without me even adding the second score?!!??!

“Here is an unsourced statistic whose context you need to take my word on and pray I’m not misreading or intentionally taking it out of context, this disproves everything you have ever said and there is no further discussion to be had beyond your apology.”

Okay, well, first off, ninety-seven percent of statistics are made up on the spot, including this one, so first I need you to show me where you’re getting that number from. Second, without your source I have no way of knowing if that statistic, true or untrue, was taken out of context or if there has been a misunderstanding of some sort around it. Even if the number is right, you could be applying it wrong. Number three, I need a source so I can verify the trustworthiness of the study that was done and the paper that was published. Number four, one statistic rarely proves anything. Data leads to discussion, it’s neither and end all nor be all.

By all means, shoot me a link to your scientific, up-to-date, peer-reviewed, bias-free, factual source conducted via scientific and trustworthy methods by reliable writers and published via a trustworthy avenue and I will read it and consider it. Until you do that, your claim is entirely unsubstantiated and I cannot assume it to be true.

I recently discovered a love for pistachio. As such I have found myself with a huge amount of pistachio shells, and I’ve discovered that I love rolling the pistachio like it is a dice.

As it happens, I’m doing a statististics course this semester and I need to learn a new coding languages to make better graphs.

The two things have been shoved together in the worst way possible and now I’m doing a statistical analysis on pistachio shells. Anyway enjoy the graph of what you can expect to roll when you take 6 pistachio shells and count the ones that have the ouside pointed up (I call it hat position as opposed to bowl position)

I rolled all 6 in hat position exactly once, so that’s exciting. Anyway it’s not like a dice at all which I expected. I didn’t expect 0 to be so much more likely than 6 or even 5.
