I never really liked okra or slimy vegetables but i understand why some people would eat it. The seeds are like pearls that burst with flavor. 🤤
I like adding lots of chili flakes onto the pickled ginger and a splash of soy sauce on the beef. It’s so comforting after a down day.

A well-known Japanese restaurant chain has temporarily shut down nearly all of its 2,000 locations this week for cleaning after reports of a rat and an insect being found in its food.
Sukiya, Japan’s largest gyudon (beef bowl) chain, announced the closures after an insect contamination was discovered at one of its suburban Tokyo outlets on Friday. This follows an earlier incident in late January when a rat was found in a bowl of miso soup at a location in Tottori, western Japan.
Both affected restaurants were immediately closed for extermination and inspections, prompting the company to take broader preventive measures across its entire network.

Takeout from Sukiya! I tried their Triple Garlic Beef Bowl: fried cloves of garlic, garlic sprouts (the green things), crispy fried garlic chili flakes (the red crunchies), and black garlic oil. Which seems to me to be four garlics? I think that maybe it’s the garlic sprouts don’t count. They’re sweet and not too garlicky.
Pros: It’s nice to have so many vegetables in a beef bowl. Also, I *love* the garlic chili flakes! Great crispy texture, great flavor, great balance of spicy and savory. If they sold them as a condiment, I’d buy a bottle.
Cons: Too much garlic! Even for me. Even knowing what I was getting into. I think I had 8 or 9 cloves of garlic, and that’s for a mini size, which, apparently, comes with 60 grams of toppings. That’s a lot of garlic! I felt like I still had garlic breath the next morning. That said, I may well get it again.
