Thinking about ShootingStar again for some reason and had more thoughts. Are people interested in them? Probably not but I am once again cooking my own food:
- I’m imagining Lee Minsung became interested in Lim Taegyu first but has zero communication skills, so he just shows himself off like a peacock to attract Taegyu’s attention. Taegyu knows what’s going on but doesn’t say anything at first because he likes the show
- Minsung likes shiny stuff. Taegyu is shiny. Just look at his Arise outfit. Enough said
- I don’t know what class Minsung is in, but I don’t think he’s a mage, ranger, or assassin. I want to say fighter, but I’m leaning towards tank for some reason. I dunno, Minsung doesn’t seem like the fighter type either to me. I am also using this as an excuse for Minsung to have to protect Taegyu who’s a ranger
- I see Minsung as spoiled but smart enough to know how to get what he wants, and Taegyu as someone who knows Minsung’s tactics and makes him work for it
- For how they get together, I imagine Taeyu asks him out, Minsung is like “I’ll think about it,” Taegyu is like “Aight, I’m gonna ask someone else,” Minsung’s all offended, and they go out

Lim Taegyu is always a mixed bag for me in terms of whether I like him or not. I think he’s a very interesting character that is underrated. His hat is so stupid though, I’m sorry if you like it, this is just me personally hating on it. The manhwa one, the Arise one looks decent. His cape looks cool though. Not sure how he shoots an arrow wearing that, but hey, I can’t judge him when I like Mr. Red-and-Gold over here
I liked his glow up in Ragnarok. I’m personally not a fan of the Ragnarok art style (it’s not that consistent and sometimes completely differs from the original, the version that is dear to me so I take physical damage when it disappears), but Taegyu with long hair is such a great decision. Whoever made that choice deserves a raise. I do think that he only grew it out because he was depressed, but shoving that aside, it looks nice :)
In terms of personality, I think he had quite an influence on Eunseok and Byungyu (nicknaming them “cozy bros” for my convenience. It’s because of Eunseok’s scarf and Byungyu’s hood if that wasn’t clear). In a “bad” way. Taegyu is the reason why the cozy bros like teasing everyone and why do mischievous stunts somtimes. Nothing too big, just harmless stuff, like bets on when ChoiBaek get together or stealing Taegyu’s hat during meetings. Yoonho was very unhappy with this change but likes it when he’s not on the receiving end
I think Jongin awakening is when Taegyu met his match. I think they’re on the same level in terms of teasing, but Jongin knows more information that he can use to throw Taegyu off his game. They have great fun. Yoonho wants Taegyu to stop taunting his rival, that’s his job. I think Taegyu and Jongin do archery together sometimes. I think Jongin used to do archery as a sport. He’s a better shot than Taegyu, but Taegyu is faster. Everyone thinks it’s ironic the mage can shoot better than the ranger
Have I mentioned my Lim Taegyu x Lee Minsung ship yet? I call them ShootingStar :3 I think Taegyu is the only one to both have enough patience to deal with Minsung’s spoiled nature (based off Ragnarok) and can handle Minsung’s arrogance with witty remarks. I think Minsung fell for him first with a mix of jealously and admiration for Taegyu’s hard work while Taegyu fell for him later when Minsung actually put in the work in Taegyu’s guild after all the times Taegyu has had to deal with Minsung’s rumors. I do think Minsung is smart, but he relies on his luck more than his smarts and gets jealous easily. Taegyu, on the other hand, always gets dealt an unlucky hand but excels through his own hard work. Anyone else see the parallels? I’m not crazy-

ROLEPLAY SNIPPET: VALLEYCLAN CAMP 🍁🌰🌠🦉🐾
“MA! LOOK AT WHAT SHOOTINGSTAR TAUGHT ME!” Jumpingpaw yowled, putting his weight in his back legs as he launched himself into the air and tackled his mother, his smaller body packing enough of a punch to knock her to the ground. With quick movements he effectively pinned her, tail lashing excitedly behind him as he looked at her with wide eyes. He had good stance; he had worked real hard on it.
“Gotcha!” he beamed, puffing out his chest in pride.
She turned her head at the sound of her son, crashing down with a small squeal. She pretended to be stuck in Jumpingpaw’s grasp, holding herself up my her arms.
Shootingstar entered the camp after her apprentice, a small smile on her lips as she watch Jumpingpaw crash into the deputy. “How are you, Chesnutbrook?” she asked with a dip of her head.
“Oh, Shootingstar, Jumpingkit! Back so soon. I’m doing well, thank you dear. It would be nicer if I was sitting up, though.”
He gasped dramatically, his tail held high as he looked down to Chestnutbrook. “Jumpingkit?” he repeated, his face twisting into a fake scowl. “It is ’paw to you!” he huffed dramatically before rolling off of her with a giggle and bolting to Shootingstar’s side, sitting up proper and straight as he looked over to his mom, who now looked successfully disheveled, in his opinion.
“Tell her about the bird I caught!” he beamed, looking up to Shootingstar with pride shining in his eyes.
She purred, seeing how much enthusiasm Jumpingpaw showed even after a whole day of training. "Indeed, Jumpingpaw caught a bird today. It was half his size! Not to mention it was his first time out on a hunting patrol too,” Shootingstar said proudly, glancing at her apprentice in approval. “I bet he’ll make a great warrior.”
“Oh, really? I’m proud of you, Jumpingpaw! You’ll be the best warrior of ValleyClan in no time, then,” Chestnutbrook purred, pulling her son to sit closer to her. She gave him a few gentle licks on his ears.
The tom squirmed under her tongue and batted at her playfully. “It was huge! I gave it to the queens, ‘cause I figured they needed it the most,” he chattered, his eyes redirecting to Shootingstar. “When do i get to spar?” he asked, his eyes wide. “I wanna fight! Get right up under their paws- pow pow pow!” He made impact noises as he fake hit Chestnutbrook, his tail swaying impatiently.
Shootingstar gave a soft laugh. “Very soon you will,” she assured him, “And when you do know how to battle, you’ll be able to protect your Clan from all danger,” she purred, admiring the young apprentice’s energy and enthusiasm to learn.
Turning to Chestnutbrook briefly, she asked, “Everything else at camp has been okay, right?” She wondered if anything usual had happened while she was away.
Chestnutbrook nodded. “Everyone has returned from patrols, and the prey pile is quite good today! Blueberrythroat’s repaired the nursery again, and I hear our healers were to discuss some matters with the other healers too.”
Jumpingpaw perked up, looking between the two with piqued interest. He wasn’t afraid to admit he was nosy.
“What are they discussing?” he asked, eyes wide with interest. “It’s not halfmoon, is it?” he questioned, easing to a halt with his repeated playful jabs to her side.
The leader tilted her head, curious as well. “No, it’s not half-moon yet,” she said, “I wonder… perhaps it’s StarClan?” she murmured softly, a spark of hope in her eyes.
“Well, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough,” Shootingstar said louder, addressing Jumpingpaw. Her tail swished rhythmically as she thought silently to herself, trying to figure out what it all meant…
