Being kind was always the easiest option for Gyokuran. He never had to go through a situation where his kindness was challenged. He had the status and the love of those around him. When he’s finally put in a situation of great stress he lashes at Mokuren for not helping them. All gentleness gone because he never had to build patience and true empathy as a foundation for his kindness. You see?
At the end that doesn’t make him a bad person. Just a privileged one. and i feel despite his jealousy of Gyokuran, Shion saw through the emptiness of that kindness from the start and maybe that’s what made their relation tremulous.
I keep seeing (more on the way) on Please Save My Earth books on Amazon…. Is this a sign… can i get my hopes up…
