I’ve been watching a lot of shiny only Pokemon runs lately and I would give it ago myself. So I started a started a file on Omega Ruby and started soft resetting for a shiny Treecko. But haven’t had much luck so even if I’m still under odds at almost 600 resets, so I figured I’d try in a different game.
Legends Arceus has pretty good odds the mass outbreaks and completed dex entries increasing them. It took me a few hours to find something but I eventually found a Silcoon in an outbreak and Buneary while looking through the woods.

Headcanon that the Space-Time Rift was massively fucking over the weather in Hisui (Snow in the summer/Raining in the Alabaster Icelands when it’s too cold to do so) which caused the pokemon to be more on edge (be more aggressive) since they’re more in tune with nature.
The irregular weather also damaging crops and almost causing a food shortage (more strife between pokemon and humans and even between humans). The land was then healed by the unusual rainstorms (massive mass outbreak) after the rift closed (imbued with power by Arceus and brought to the lands by Enamorus)

almost certainly already been done but i decided to start a PLA challenge run and here’s my WIP ruleset (currently dubbed the Rockstar Ruleset because i named my character Rockstar on a whim ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).
1. The most important rule is that you can only catch one of every Pokémon species, ever. I can’t think of a good way to phrase this without a scenario:
Rockstar catches a Ralts. She can never again catch another Ralts, but she CAN catch a Kirlia and Gardevoir. Once her Ralts evolves into Kirlia, she can no longer catch another Kirlia. However, if she had caught a Kirlia previously, she doesn’t have to get rid of it. She just can’t use both Kirlia at the same time. This is to prevent sealing off entire evolution lines, because
2. If a Pokémon faints, it dies and can’t be used again. Standard stuff.
3. Also standard, you have to nickname every Pokémon so you get attached to them.
4. If, at any point, the player themself gets knocked out, they die and the run ends.
5. No Alpha Pokémon allowed on your team.
6. To progress the game, you CAN catch duplicate Pokémon for the Pokédex, but you can’t use them.
7. Duplicate Pokémon are also allowed to be caught and used if they’re Shiny.
If anyone else wants to try out the ruleset, let me know how it goes! I’m open to feedback. Not trying to come up with the next Nuzlocke or anything, this is just for fun! But I do want to try and make the most polished ruleset possible.

That was actually the original context from an AU we had, but upon replaying together we realized she interacts a lot more (at all) with Adaman.
