The votes are in or rather the vote is in since we got only one and we are off to Page 70 for “The ThunderCats and the Ghost Warrior.”

With this amount of pages, I thought we would have been reaching the end. I guess not.

And here we are. People chose to turn to page 12 for “The ThunderCats and the Ghost Warrior.” You know, I should probably get around to seeing if the show is on the Internet Archive because I don’t remember seeing the episode this book is based on when Teletoon Retro existed.

I think surprisingly enough Panthro is a big gift giver. He just kinda knows what everyone needs so he’s good at it.

Obviously the twins *love* getting presents! But I think next to them is Tygra. Especially when the gift is thoughtful, he feels seen when someone goes out of their way to get him something.

Awwww I’m glad you’re enjoying it! Yeah the Modern Au rarely get to me, but this one is growing on me!

Hmmmmmmmm… that depends, again the overall year this “modern” au takes place, as once again I always imagine it with y2k vibes~

The Og show ran in like 1969, so that could’ve been something Claudus and Panthro watched. Honestly I’m all for it being Kaynars and Addicus’s fav show as kids! Like as (semi) innocent little beans they were best friends in school.

Maybe Tygra watched “what’s new scooby doo” as a kid in 2002, but like it didn’t stick to him. I think Liono would get into Mystery incorporated lore as it releases in 2010, as much shit as he gets for it. The twins are the same, but instead of the lore they just enjoy the goofy antics of the gang.

Panthro never watched it. He strikes me as major Popeye fan though

Panthro and Pumyra’s concept art. Dan says they knew from the start they wanted Panthro to have a big brawler, monk-vibe. The one with the beads they decided was too mellow, however. Pumyra didn’t go through many changes (and is quite similar to her OG look).

Panthro from Thundercats 2011

Ooh, that’s a good dilemma to grapple with!

The cats need a home, but how much can Lion-O keep without Thundera getting back on the imperialism train once he’s gone? How much can he change without his people rejecting him? Will he be able to impart the wisdom he’s learned about joining hands with other species? Good stuff.

I’d also love to see Panthro dealing with the repercussions of what he’s done too.

Yeah, I think Panthro did have a pretty solid arc, learning how to let people in again and getting closure on Grune.

Giving him a “where do I go from here” kind of character thread would be kind of a metatextual move, wouldn’t it? 😅

I feel like I already kinda answered howd the cats would flirt and stuff in the post about their ways of expressing affections.
But I’ll talk about the latter!

Liono. Yeah. He melts. Doesn’t matter. Whether its verbal flirting, or even something as gentle as running your fingers down his arm. That boy becomes puddle. He’ll try and flirt back, but it will always be something goofy and a bit childish, But if you respond well in kind, he’ll be flushed for the rest of day.

Tygra is not as easily charmed. Flirting is that man’s language, and its become a bit trivial to him. But once physical contact becomes involved, he gets a bit more flustered. He’ll act suave and mature, maybe scoop up your hand an land a kiss on the back of your palm, but if you scoop up his chin or compliment one of his many great qualities, he’ll quickly become hooked.

Cheetara is quiet easily charmed. She has an incredible judge of character, and if you pass her vibe check she’s very friendly out of gate. She enjoys having a good flirt every now and again, especially if its a bit cheeky. She’ll toy with her hair as you talk, and she’ll take any excuse to pet your hair or hold your hand.

Panthro is wary, at first. Most people who open with flirtation just want something from him, and think they can charm their way into getting it. But once he realises all you want is to be close to him, well, he still stone walls you most of the time. But he’ll never admit that when you touch his arm or complement either his mechanical skills, or his physique, he grows a bit flustered.

In general?? Definitely snuggling~ a lot of head bumps against their lovers shoulders and chests. Eskimo kisses galore~ and just general physical affection~

For the cats that can, purring is a major sign of trust and comfort for their lover. Deep sighs that help calm their nerves and intake their partners scent.

I also think gift giving is pretty big for them. Not much so flowers and chocolates, although those are appreciated, but more like food in general. A sign that the other can rely on them for their needs and that they’re being looked after~

Now, part 2 to this if you’re asking about the individual Thundercats??

Liono, he’s definitely a snuggler. That boy is touched starved and he wants to hold those he loves close 24/7. I’d also see him being into parallel play when he’s older. He understands that not everyone is going to be as interested in his trinkets as much as he is, and he’s just happy to spend quality time next to his loved ones doing the things they both love.

Tygra? Also very touchy. Can be just as simple as wanting skin on skin contact with his friends, like rustling your hair or patting you on the back. But depending on the relationship, he may have ulterior motives~

Cheetarah may not be as touchy feely as her partner, but that doesn’t mean she won’t lavish her friends with nuzzles and purrs as they rest together beneath a warm sun beam~ She’d also always try and initiate friendly competitions, such as races (good luck) and enemy take downs during fights.

The Thunderkittens? They’re all about hugging and comforting eachother with purrs and wrapping their tails around their friends as a sign of protection. They’d also be aaaalll about gift giving. Whether it’s giving gifts to friends on their birthday, or better yet receiving gifts, you can bet they’re gonna go nuts and try and compare with eachother who’s gift is better.

Panthero is a lot more reserved. Not cold, but he realises his strength, and tries to hold back on crushing spines with his infamous “hugs”. But beware, if this man finds out you saved his baby from getting turned into a tin can, you better prepare yourself for a spine crunching, lung squeezing hug. As well as sudden acts of kindness, such as saving you a plate for dinner, or being tossed a bottle of water with a grumbly “Take care of yourself, kid.” (No matter how old you are)

No trouble, I like your ideas a lot!

I’ll be honest, I hadn’t thought of much for Panthro yet. But I like the idea of him needing to find a new goal in life. I did think of one scene of him giving Pumyra advice, since like her he suffered an excruciating betrayal that nearly cost him his life, but that’s one scene not much of an arc.

For the twins, I want to do something to tie up the El Dara thread, but that will require me to decide what I want El Dara to be ^^; And yeah, I did want to show the twins slowly becoming less of a joint unit and finding separate passions, Wilykit in magic and spirituality and Wilykat in combat.

I love your idea of tying Kit into Cheetara’s arc, that’s a really nice way of getting two characters’ development out of the same plotline! And there’s definite potential in Kat learning different skills from each of his two big brothers!

(I’m happy to join you in the “salty about Lion-O’s tech hobby being dropped” club)

And I think there’s definitely room to try to explore some kind of theme about magic and technology, maybe try to succeed where episode 24 failed >.>

Yeah, there’s a lot of potential to play around with.

Tygra was always The Favorite, but I figure that being The Favorite was also a coping mechanism for his inferiority complex, so it created a feedback loop of learning what would please his father and the rest of the court and them imparting more of their worldview because of how well he took to it. Tygra’s got a lot of stuff to untangle, and I want that arc so badly.

In the flashback to when she first approached the clerisy, Cheetara seemed embarrassed to admit that she didn’t come from a clan, so I felt like that implied she was of low standing, but as you said once she was accepted by the clerisy and became Jaga’s close protégé, it elevated her status or at the very least removed the concern of status. I figure she was from an outlying area and made the decision to go to the capitol to become a cleric after… something happened that left her with nowhere else to go. There’s a lot unexplored with her.

And I think you’ve got the long and short of it with Panthro. He got brought along with Grune skipping his way up the ranks by getting Claudus’s attention, and became a close friend of the king.
