Wislawa Szymborska - Conversation with a Stone

“Even sight heightened to become all-seeingwill do you no good without a sense of taking part.”– Wislawa Szymborska

Have you ever tried to have a conversation with a stone? How did it go? Is there anything more densely resolute, more coldly mute as a conversation partner than a hard stone? Which is why I find this poem so fascinating, so…

The Impossible Is Impossible Until You Make It Possible

There is a strange comfort in the word impossible. It carries finality. It feels authoritative, almost scientific, as if reality itself has spoken and rendered a verdict. When something is declared impossible, the mind is invited to rest, to stop pushing, to stop imagining alternatives. Impossible becomes a boundary marker, a line drawn around what we are allowed to want, try, or believe in. Yet…

The Thought of Impossibility

The ‘Cone’: A conceptual or physical cone of formed energy which is collectively directed towards an object of a coven’s choosing.

In the case of the British attempt during World War 2. The weaponised energy was directed east towards Berlin, intending to implant the thought of impossibility into the minds of German leaders.

Are you permitted to imagine: If you now live your life in a community network that routinely obsesses about controlling such a power via the lives of hostages they themselves create, do you believe such obsessors will willing murder to keep hold of it? The power they had so excessively desired.

We worship the Buddha not because he lived but because he didn’t.

He is our sacred therefore mythical impossibility.

The dream that the animal in us might one day go quiet, and the self will remain untouched, unbroken, whole, forever free.

The new, because it cannot take its place in history, is also that which is most ancient: an unhistorical occurrence to which we are called upon to answer as if it were the impossible, the invisible — that which has always long since disappeared beneath ruins.

The Dream of Impossibility

The Dream of Impossibility
I hear what is not said
am deaf to what is shared.
I see what is not shown
and blind to what is before me.
I say what is not heard
am heard by what I have not shared.
I show what is not seen
and powerless to lead the blind.
I know what is unknown
and know not what is common knowledge.
I understand what is not real
and I am real when in a dream.
I help when unaware
and…

[W]hen you start out on a career in the arts, you have no idea what you’re doing. This is great. People who know what they’re doing know the rules, and they know what is possible and what is impossible. You do not and you should not. The rules on what is possible and impossible in the arts were made by people who had not tested the bounds of the possible by going beyond them, and you can. If you don’t know it’s impossible, it’s easier to do. And because nobody’s done it before, they haven’t made up rules to stop anyone doing that particular thing again.

—Neil Gaiman (Make Good Art)

I limit the level of influence a person has in my life if I perceive that they are satisfied with lack. I want my needs met and to be awed by impossibility.

“Show me your ways that I may know you.” Exodus 33:13

Great faith does not come by striving—it is the result of surrender.

If God inhabits my praise, then, who inhabits my complaints?

In the face of the impossible … they submit themselves at once. The impossible – meaning the stone wall? Which stone wall? Well, of course, the laws of nature, the conclusions of the natural sciences and mathematics.

Ypu know what annoys me?

Nobody acknowledges size differences.

When im reading a fic where 2 characters have a massive size difference (corazon and law from one piece for example) and while they are doing the horizontal tango they kiss.

No they don’t. The size difference means that the shorter would still be only chest level of the taller one, the taller would have to bend down in a very uncomfortable, if not impossible, way to kiss them.

Thats what annoys me about size differences in fics, thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Where is God?

Luke 18:27And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

There are people who are asking, “Where is God in all of the godlessness and evil taking place all over the world today. We wonder if God sees it all. Does He care about the hurt to children and innocent people who are being persecuted both inside and outside of the…
