Oooh! Thanks for the question! I have so many headcanons that overlap through all my AUs, so it’s been fun coming up with some just for THG.

(Below the cut for a couple of spicy ones. 😈)

Ginny:

🌳 Broke her ankle at 14 (a nod to canon!) trying to climb out of her window to meet-up with a boy.

🏷️ Reads the labels/ingredient lists on all hair care products before buying them.

🏠 Regretted purchasing her house almost as soon as she signed the paperwork.

📺 Has to have the telly on in the background when alone or trying to sleep.

💙 Collects Smurfs (reminds her of simpler times/dad).

🥖 Can whip up a batch of biscuits and at least four different types of breads without a recipe (thanks to her baker!mum).

🍎 A certified Snacker, she packs crackers, cheeses, fruits, veggies, etc to take to work alongside her lunch.

💅🏻 Superstitiously had to paint her nails a different color before each Quidditch match—whether she was playing or not—though her right ring finger always needed to be a green and gold design.

🧘🏻‍♀️ After retiring from Quidditch, her favorite form of exercise is hot yoga.

🍆 Can orgasm from penetration alone.

Harry:

🏃🏻‍♂️ Ran track in secondary school and goes out on morning and night runs with Marnie (his dog).

🪫 Was addicted to energy drinks as a teen.

🎧 Had specific warm-up routines he had to preform in the right order (and only to “Hey Ya!” by Outkast, on repeat if necessary) before Quidditch games.

🤐 He’s so loyal that he wants nothing more than for his father to be proud of him. *SPOILER ALERT: This is An Issue.*

👕 His mum is (extremely) overprotective, so he allows her to come by every other Sunday and pick out his outfits for the following two weeks.

🏍️ Collects motorbikes (much to his godfather’s delight).

🍬 Permits himself two treacle toffee candies everyday, which he carries to work in his trousers and usually eats before 10 AM.

🧦 He is messy yet organized (like his mother) but knows the value of a good house self (from his father) and therefore employs one: Dobby.

🏋🏻‍♂️ To rid himself of “pent-up energy” after starting at The Sport Source, Harry goes to the gym during his lunch breaks instead of on weekends.

😏 Is mostly quiet during sex… unless it’s to encourage his partner.

it seems like many people are not actually aware of this difference so FYI

chthonic = deities and spirits who originate from or permanently inhabit underworld locations that are inaccessible to (living) mortals, e.g. Thanatos, Haides; these figures were not typically worshipped in antiquity, only propitiated

chthonian = deities with roles, epithets, or characteristics that are infernal, agricultural, and/or ‘earthy’ in nature, e.g. Zeus Melikhios; this can overlap with the former but is broader in scope & not exclusive to underworld residents (though they may be erroneously used interchangeably)

I also think this misunderstanding feeds into the (false) notion of the ouranic/chthonic dichotomy - it’s unlikely that these categories were ever as strongly delineated as they often are today since virtually every deity, 'ouranic’ or otherwise, had a chthonian aspect that could be invoked for certain events & situations. they weren’t conceptualized as entirely separate groups & there was an almost complete overlap between their 'membership’ (with a few obvious exceptions). the determining factor has much less to do with the deity per se than with the particular ritual context in which they’re embedded.

rarely are there ever simple & clear-cut distinctions wrt the gods; if you believe you’ve found one, that’s probably an indication to look deeper!

I know it’s going to be impossible to find, but I’d love a fic where Sirius is 100% aware of Harry’s little puppy crush on him and is a Good Adult / Good Godfather about it. Like he doesn’t bring it up, he doesn’t embarass Harry, doesn’t make him feel bad about it. If Harry tries anything that’s less than family-like, Sirius gently redirects him in a way that Harry doesn’t realize he’s been rejected until like 3 hours later - and doesn’t feel the sting of rejection. If anyone else tries to separate Sirius and Harry (*cough* yall know who I’m talking about *cough*) Sirius does Not tolerate it and sticks firmly with Harry because puppy crush or not - Sirius is Harry’s only living family member, and Sirius broke out of living hell for his kid. Literally no one else will stand up to the Dursleys or Dumbledore for Harry. There’s literally no one else firmly and unconditionally on Harry’s side and he is a child in the middle of a 3 sided war. Dealing with a few extra stares, compliments and slight blushing is nothing in the long run.

And then they laugh about it as adults when Harry isn’t crushing anymore and Sirius has formally adopted Harry, and Sirius *finally* gets to tease Harry without it damaging their relationship or Harry’s self esteem.

I’m about to do some long long haul flying. Though, I got lucky and didn’t have to do the most ridiculous long haul transmitting more than halfway around the globe. But it’s still gonna be a slog.

Naturally, I’ve been busy filling up my sisters kindle with some f/f fic (gotta remember to delete cautiously hahaha). And I randomly got onto a highly reputed Marlene/dorcas HO marauders fic (never read the pairing) and it just reminded me of being a preteen printing my hp fanfic and putting it into binders to read on long family holiday 😂🥹.

And then eventually progressing onto putting it onto my iPod (the now named classic one).

Then iPod shuffle and then finally just reading on my phone or iPad. And now we have kindles. Like, life as a fanfic reader has gotten good haha (even though I will sometimes genuinely go like 5 years without reading any fanfic tbh).

But I also love how I haven’t changed at all!!

(Don’t worry there’s so much killing eve fic hahahaha, and a few of my fav comfort Clexa fics).

God, I think so much about how illogical Wizarding society was in Harry Potter. It bugs me so much I have to headcanon that its just Wizarding Britain, the other countries are doing great. That’s why only they had the war lmao
