If anyone wants my Fedi/Mastodon account lemme know because this site becomes more unbearable everyday. I guess give me your discord either but if you do you won’t know when you’ll hear back from me next.

fediverse!! like mastodon and stuff. i don’t have the spoons to explain it rn but you can probably search and find it
Distributed social media - Mastodon & Fediverse Explained
That’s an awesome explanation of the Fediverse - a huge step towards social networks decentralization. This is for sure the future of social networking, the remaining question is timing only. Networks (any, not social only) are more resilient/robust while being decentralized. To say more strictly, it’s the only possible way for networks to evolve in the long run.
Thanks to the author of the video @savjee, it’s totally amazing that it was published more than 5 years ago.
My personal step towards decentralizing is here .
Just saying, if I had any real ability to influence standards or get things implemented, I’d be rolling out yesterday a standard reporting system for the fediverse…
It’s frankly ridiculous that every platform handles moderation reports differently, sometimes within a platform there’s support for sending the report automatically from your home instance to the remote instance, but not something I’d remotely rely on.
Hell, I’m running a Friendica instance and the only way you’re going to send me moderation reports if you’re not logged into my server is to just find the info page for the server and email me or tag me, which is frankly ridiculous.
Like this isn’t remotely hard to implement in code, the problem is entirely getting people to adopt it!

apparently there is a mass twitter exodus happening again, and people are flocking to mastodon. i want to say, please sign up for a different fediverse instance than mastodon.social. you can still talk to your friends on the main instance, but you will be significantly safer. dot social federates with Threads; that means, increasingly, Threads users are beginning to be able to interact with and harass people with the same bigotry and abuse that plagues facebook. all posts on instances that federate with Threads will also be saved into Meta’s hellish privacy-violating big data.
dot social is *proud* of this.
most other noteworthy instances have signed on to an agreement called the “fedipact”, an agreement to make sure Threads is defederated (blocked) from accessing their instance. the person who set it up is actually my best friend 💖 check it out at https://fedipact.online
personally, i want people to sign up on the instance she runs and that i help out a lot with: cyberpunk.lol. it’s a queer (mostly trans) anarchist instance that celebrates both safety from big tech and direct action/mutual aid to help our community. full of really cool people and i hope you all sign up!! 💖
I just set up the first three polls of my Best Guard Dog Tournament on Mastodon! Maybe you want to vote for Han Ying? Or Zhuzhi-lang?

If you have a Mastodon account that you’re not using, now might be the time to log back in. :D You can paste the link above into your search bar to find the post.
If you don’t have a Mastodon account but you’d like to participate, I recommend signing up through blorbo.social! This post has detailed instructions on how to join, but tl;dr:
I’m so excited to be doing this again!! 🥺
I just posted a call for “Best Guard Dog” character tournament submissions on Mastodon!

I’m very excited to get back into running character tournaments :D
I talk about Mastodon every so often, so I tend to want a quick “and here’s how to join” guide I can link to. Here it is! (updated June 2025)
First: the fandom side of Mastodon is great. There aren’t a lot of us, but it’s cozy and well-moderated. We have nice conversations and fun events. I’m currently running a daily mini prompt game and a character tournament, we’ve had ship bingo games go around, and danmei read- and watch-alongs pop up every so often (there are a TGCF readalong and a Winter Begonia watch-along ongoing). It’s a bit like a cross between Tumblr and a Discord server.
Also: YOU CAN POST PORN. Full-on cocks in holes and everything! Or you can easily avoid it, because marking it as NSFW is required, and the filtering options are excellent.
Anyway. How to join:
The server I recommend is blorbo.social. It’s an 18+ multifandom server, and it allows personal posts as well. The mods are fandom people who care about fandom creators (attributing works, preventing harassment, etc.) There is a 3,000 character limit per post (about 750 words, a bit longer than this post).
If that sounds good, here is a walk-through to minimize confusion. Of course, please do what you want, but I find that a lot of people want to be told what to do here!
From there, you’ll figure it out! I’m very happy to answer questions, but I don’t want to load this post with so much information that it’s overwhelming.
I hope you’ll consider joining us!
I see a lot of people blame decentralized systems (not bitcoin grifter shit, I mean like activitypub and… scuttlebutt) for things that are just sort of a general humanity problem. One person or a small group of people can fuck up anything in any situation. We can scale this globally even. I mean fuck Google the atomic bomb I guess. Centralized social media and decentralized social media both fucking suck ass and so does talking to your fellow man in real life sometimes. There’s good and bad in it all and my brain is huge. Send me $10,000 to engage in argument.
